I asked members of the community what was the best "local" restaurant.. They all recommended Ginas as being the most popular among the locals. The minute I walked in I experienced local hospitality. The diners, the staff, and the decor on the wall all reeked with friendly local flair. Great menu options represented everything from local seafood to good old fashion soups, salads, and sandwiches. I loved the patriotic ambiance and the tributes to veterans. It is very fitting that it is located in the local VFW hall.

Best club sandwich. Burger was good, and I enjoyed the charred taste of the beef patty, but I know not everyone likes that. Their version of crawfish bread is pretty good. The Thursday special is the baked chicken, and that was good, but the side of mashed potatoes tasted too much like powder potatoes. Service is very average and slow, but tolerable because the food is pretty good.

Big portions, great pricing, & taste to die for. We've had the spaghetti and meatballs special. So delicious with huge meatballs. A few other daily specials which they have yet to disappoint. Love the live Cajun music. The customer service was excellent as well. A very homey feeling in here.

We are not from Thibodaux and had a little trouble finding Gina's. If it's your first time, the entry is at the back of the American LEGION building. While there are "Open" signs on the front doors we thought they were there for the American Legion and had no idea it meant the restaurant. LOLThis is a place frequented by the locals. A place where everyone seems to know each other. As we were walking up a woman told us we were going to have a great lunch at Gina's. For lunch we both had the daily special catfish with white beans. I asked if mine could be grilled instead of fried and they were happy to accommodate my request. The meal came with rice, potato salad and bread. Pretty good for $7.95! We also tried the duck strips. The fried items were done perfectly - crispy and not at all oily. The beans were definitely home made and very tasty. They have a full bar. The restaurant is a little dark and decorated in a fun kitschy kind of way. Our server was friendly and efficient! Give it a try!

A very good place to eat. We were on our way to a football game and searched for someplace to eat and low and behold this place popped up. We read the reviews and decided to try it. We are glad that we did. The building is a little dated but that to be expected for a Veterans' home. However, it was neat and clean. The waitress was wonderful and attentive. We each ate the catfish plate and could have ordered only one to share because there is so much. It was hot and fresh. My husband found the added sugar to the fries to be unexpected but pleasantly surprising.

Gina's at the Legion is an American restaurant with a Louisiana accent. Caterer Gina moved her family business from its previous location (where it was known as The Venetian) to the American Legion Hall. She is still putting the finishing touches on the interior, but it is cozy and friendly. Menu items are straightforward: excellent thin and crispy catfish, hand-cut fries that you can order poutine-style, and the best onion rings I've ever had. My son is addicted to fried chicken, and he loved the oversized wings. The "less hot" sauce tasted tomatillo-based and was sharp and tangy in all the right ways. They have a full bar, pool table, and dance floor with live music some nights. Mostly, we felt thoroughly at home talking with everyone in the place and leaving with a dozen new friends.
