The best fried chicken on the planet. Ate their many times. Julie is priceless. Service was Great. Would highly recommend. Have not been in long time but wish we could.

Great little hole in the wall in a small town. Great food and service. Love the atmosphere. Definitely some history in that place. Would definitely recommend.

Here's an example of good old fashioned basic food. Nothing fancy but it's all good and the service is efficient and attentive. Nothing stood out for special attention and it's not a destination place but the type you bring customers from the nearby chemical plants to for lunch.

With a name like this place has how can you NOT stop in to see what kind of grub they sling? Driving in to the heart of Donaldsonville I happened to look to my left and saw the named painted LARGE on the backside of the building and thought to myself "If I'm still here come lunch that's where I'm eating"Sure enough I'm still in town around lunch time and being hungry I headed to this place...Mom & Pop joint, too good to be a dive but not good enough to be fancy...you walk in this joint and you just sense you gonna get a good meal for a reasonable price.... That's exactly what I got! They have a full bar separated from the eating section by a lattice wall.... sturdy diner tables with sturdy diner chairs fill the place.... lots of Ascension Parish memorabilia mixed with LSU items hanging on the wall....Nice menu filled with home cooking and seafood plus burgers and poboys... Prices are reasonable...The specials on 1/23/15 were Shrimp stew served over potato salad or fried catfish plate.... went with the catfish since I hadn't had any in awhile....It was an excellent choice! Fresh fillets, golden brown, fresh out of the greasel....DELICIOUS! But you gotta have good tartar sauce and they had it, great flavor with a little spice.... it was a great meal!!Service was excellent and the owners were real friendly.... need a quick filling meal then give this place a try.... it's got my recommendation!

Was just bland. Ordered fried shrimp. They were breaded and large but had no seasoning or flavor at all.

Thursday afternoon At 330 pm Bldg was closed not answer phone. Maybe will try again Friday.

not consistent with food, some days it's great, others it's awful. service is so-so. they do live music occasionally but tends to be too loud for the small dining area

The steak Louisiana is awesome, great staff, and love there sports here!Go there every time I'm in donaldsonville!!!

This is more of a local spot, if they don't know you, you won't get great service, like at all. I had the lunch of the day, which was spaghetti and meatballs. I could have gotten a can of ravioli with a side of stale white bread that they served. The only reason I came here, was because I work out of town and there isn't many places to chose from in this shithole town. Will not be back.
