Small, local business in an off-the-main-road location. Casual ambiance, friendly owners and prompt service. Pricing extremely reasonable considering serving sizes.Muffalettas are very good, using the "right" bread. We've enjoyed the daily specials such as the red beans and rice and the pot roast with rice, mashed potatoes, peas and corn with salad and garlic bread. (Choose 2 of the sides; we've had them all.)We always call ahead for pick up and never have to wait. it's also a good way to find out if the daily special is sold out. :) Will continue to be a customer.

Great food, great prices, friendly husband and wife running the place. Cheeseburgers are good. Potato salad is just like my grandmother made her when I was a little girl. Their muffalatta is good also. We have not had a bad meal there. Only thing I wish they would do is open on weekends and stay open later at night. Other than that, it's always a great experience.

As someone who enjoys giving small businesses/ restaurants a try, I have to say this place was an absolute disappointment. My daughter was disappointed as well. There's quite a few things I could mention but the key things for me were the tiny portions, the pitiful "salad" with horrible Ranch dressing, & the completely unseasoned "platter" that I ordered. I paid $14 for 5 bland shrimp & 1 piece of fish. I did order gumbo ($6 for a very small cup) & it was actually pretty good. Not to mention, the service was moderate, considering you have to fix your own drink. The worst $22+ I've ever spent. I left still hungry.

This is a great spot I was glad to discover as it was new to me along with also being near a spot I used to work at so I wish I would have known about it sooner. A husband and wife own and run this place and they are some really nice folks. They have a nice rotation of daily specials during the week and it is a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. I have only managed one visit so far to sample their burger and some fantastic onion rings but I still really want to try their daily specials which look fantastic. Native New Orleanian that always looks for great food when we come back, and Ernie's gives us the perfect meal! The roast beef poboy and shrimp poboy are perfect, Thanks for the great meal!!

Owner Ernie Sanchez and his wife (Algerines) in May opened up a really nice Cafe in Marrero. Not a big menu but everything seems to be on spot. Had the Chicken & Sausage Gumbo which was very good. My wife and I spot a Roast Beef and Hot Sausage Sandwich. The Roast Beef was homemade and the gravy was very tasty. You'll need lots a napkins. The Hot Sausage had just enough heat for me. They are not open on Saturday and Sundays yet. But Ernie hopes be be soon. Monday thru Friday they has dailey lunches. We will be going back soon.

Found this place close to my home and decided to give it a try. My husband ordered the roast beef poboy and I ordered the pot roast special. Both delicious!! Definitely home made, pot roast super tender, with a delicious rich sauce. It's a quaint looking place and very clean, with the nicest staff! Will definitely be going back!

Went on a Friday for Lunch, ordered the Friday Lunch Special, Crawfish Pasta. Tasted Delicious but the portion was unbelievably SMALL !!!Even the side Salad was SMALL !!Needless to say I was absolutely disappointed.For $17.00 I could have went anywhere and got more food.Service was good, nice clean cozy dining area.Left Hungry. Very Disappointed.

Good, service, and portion sizes are all great!!! Give this locally owned business a try!!
