The wife and I stopped by DiMartino's in Covington for an enjoyable Monday lunch, as we have done several times in the past. I am quite surprised by the low scores given by some, as our food has always been good, service has been excellent, and the ambiance casual and pleasant. I suppose if one is looking for haute cuisine, one might look elsewhere, but for a pleasing lunch DiMartino's is quite good. Our go-to lunches are the spaghetti and meatballs and the lasagna and they were good today. I especially like the meatballs. DiMartino's is recommended!

Food is tasty, however $4.50 for a large French fry is too much for what you actually get. I also don't know why their muffaletta is never thoroughly heated, the cheese is NEVER melted and I always have to put it in the oven when I get home instead of just diggin in!

It was my first time at this amazing restaurant and had the most delicious muffaletta, gumbo, & and Potatoe salad. It was a feast of flavor in my mouth that I will crave forever . Again. Our waitress Alicia treated us royally and can't wait to come back.

Do not tip ToGo orders , as the owner keeps the tips ! Also keeps part of employee tips ! Gordon R. even thinks that's pretty shitty.

I love everything about this restaurant except the fact that there are no hand towels in the men's room. The blow dryer is insufficient.

DiMartinos has gone down hill. I was a very frequent customer, eating here 2 to 3 times a week. Today, my meal was disgusting. My order arrived about 2 minutes after the waitress put it in. They rushed the fried shrimp for my Po-Boy causing them to be seriously undercooked. The same thing happened last week with the fried fish. Today's gumbo was not the usual. It was bland, much lighter in color and overly thick for gumbo, not edible. I could go on about the bland tomato sauce and skimpy muffulettas but today was the last.

The muffuletta has gotten horrible. The last 3 times I picked up a muffuletta the sandwich has gone down hill. This location's staff in Covington really needs Togo to the original DiMartino's in Terrytown or the Algiers locations and learn how to make the sandwich properly. I will not spend another penny in the Covington location. I even wrote an email, no answer. So with all that being said, I will not spend a penny in Covington ever again.

After dining here for years, I'm finally about done with it. I went two times in the last week. The first time, I ordered two muffaletta's and a fried eggplant appetizer to go. There was almost no meat on the muffalettas. The eggplant was pale yellow and undercooked. Went back today. Bowl of gumbo took longer to bring out than anyone else's dinner, and it wasn't hot. $23.50 butterfly shrimp dinner only had 10 shrimp on it, and they were mushy. Sweet potato fries were very soft, greasy, and not very hot. I didn't enjoy my meal whatsoever, and for these prices, I'm not going back. It's too inconsistent. A soft drink is overpriced at $3.50. Even when I get the muffaletta and eat it there, it's usually not heated enough to melt the cheese or crisp up the bread, and almost nothing between the bread. Every time I go now, there are fruit flies or regular flies attacking my food. Today it was a regular fly. I covered my plate with napkins while I was eating.Service was really good today, but I've been disappointed in the food too many times over the past few months. This place has gone from about an 8 out of 10 to a 3 out of 10. The mandatory gratuity for parties of 7 or more, ranging from 22% to 25% (someone else said it was 30% for a party) is outrageous, and I won't do it. Today, I read a comment by someone who said that the owner keeps all of the "to go" tips, and he takes a portion of the regular server tips. Good for him. I'm done.

Ordered a muffaletta today to go got home and it was cold in the middle. I guess business is slow or they cut back on things because this was a sad little muffaletta.
