I was heading home after stopping at a few places and I was getting hangry. I do love to go off the beaten path for meals when I can. Walking in from the bright sun, I had to let my eyes adjust for a moment. I was promptly greeted, told to sit anywhere and given a menu. I got the shrimp platter and I think the shrimp was so fresh it hit on me! It was great! Reasonable prices, fast service. I would recommend to anyone in the area!

As Ashley B stated "small town family feel".This perfectly sums up Dad's Bar & Grill - a local seafood shack. We were heading to the Southern most point on the Gulf and stopped herefor lunch. It's a small space but what it lacks in space it makes up for in personality. I could tell that this was a well loved spot as we got some tourist "looks' when we entered (I guess they could tell we were not regulars :)). That was even before our "east coast accents" gave us away. The menu is not vast but if you are coming here - the thing to order is seafood. I mean it's a no brainer! The food is not fancy but good and exactly what I needed. As you can tell the shrimp were HUGE and the onion ring were homemade - what more can a girl ask for! They do have specials but I only had eyes for the shrimp patter. There not many restaurants in the area so if you are hungry and have a hankering for seafood - check this place out.

I have eaten here on several occasions while in the area fishing. There are no finer people and the food is second to none. If you're looking for authentic LA food served up by the finest people you'll ever meet this is your spot.

This is a great little place to eat. I've eaten here several times while visiting family in the area, and it's always a very welcoming environment. The staff are very kind, and the food is good.

What an amazing find.... these are down to Earth great people serving spot on crawfish. My children and I stopped for an early dinner and ended up staying for approximately 2 hours. These are some of the nicest people we have encountered in our travels. We gorged solely on the crawfish devouring 10lbs. The texture of the crawfish were boiled to perfection, temperature was perfect still warm so you know they are fresh but not so hot you cannot enjoy them right away. The best part is the incredible flavor, perfectly seasoned with just enough spice to warm your mouth. These mudbugs alone were worth the trip this far south in to Plaquemines Parrish. I would definately be back if I am even close. If you enjoy crawfish, or have never tried them but are open minded this is the place. Thank you to the staff at Dad's for a wonderful afternoon!

It is exactly what you would expect from a seafood shack in Southern Louisiana. Decent and cheap bar food and cheap drinks! The staff are what make this place great!

Decided to go to New Orleans for a few days. Drove over an hour outside of downtown to this restaurant. Was expecting true Louisiana seafood. I was very disappointed. Ordered the shrimp platter. The batter overpowered the shrimp. No true seafood taste. I could've got the same meal in Nebraska, but with less expectations. 25 dollars later....17 for the meal and 2.50 for each of the waters I got. The new, but not posted online menu doesn't specify that. I'm sure this is just a locals only spot. Not a tourist destination. Maybe something in New Orleans will give me that Louisiana expectation.

"Can't go to mom's, come to Dad's". This is just the type of meals and ambiance you should expect upon entering the unmarked parking area and walking into the dining area of picnic tables. On most days you will find friends and family huddled over a pile of crawfish and laughing over a cold beer. Needless to say the poboys are good and the crawfish are better.A little know fact about Dad's: THE SERVE BREAKFAST!! I proclaim this fact because many assume only one business in the 15-mile radius does so.The only negative I experience was the single hot sausage patty in my PoBoy while the other sandwiches are overflowing.

Downright disappointing. Was driving down for a nice day and some fun. I stopped in and ordered, expecting a short wait time. An hour and fifteen minutes later, my food arrives. At best, I would give it mediocre. I had high hopes, but it fell short, delivering something I could've ordered in any random diner in the US. I was charged for food items I didn't receive, and the beer was only $2.70 but I was charged $3.90. With prices that you would see in NOLA and service that might make Ronald McDonald frown. Would not recommend.
