Hey, open til 4 am -- that is a great option, but it draws a lot of drunken mess. But calzone to feed two people late at night is a good deal.

The food tastes good for late night pizza, but I'll never go back. I ordered a Roni zone online, adding mushrooms, onions, garlic, green peppers, and marinara sauce inside, for an extra $.75 per extra ingredient. The pics is what I got. I ate half while driving on the way home. I thought, "the only thing I can really taste is an occasional bite of onion." When I got to a place with light, I realized there were barely any ingredients. This has happened before, and I'm done. Cheating your customers out of a serving of veggies that they paid for is highway robbery. Shame on them. What a terrible way to do business. UPDATE: the owner reached out in messages, and has said (in a nutshell) they'd work on their guys putting out good, consistent food, and that they want the locals to support their business. I told him I'd wait a few months for them to get their house in order, and I'd think about trying one more time. My advice would be to always check your order before leaving.

I keep coming back so I must love it. I love the online ordering option. Simple lobby. Never trouble getting a table. Food is awesome.

Oh heck yeah! Finally a great place to get drunk food in the Quarter that sells vegan options past 9 pm! They're open from 4:00 pm till 4:00 am and their food is piping hot and delicious. There are five veggie calzones on their menu, three of which are fully vegan. I got the vegan time zone which contains daiya mozzarella, green bell peppers, mushrooms, and onion, and comes with a tidy little go-cup of tasty marinara for dipping. Now, I had foolishly gone out to a show without dinner tonight... so by the time the headliner was about to start, I was starving. So I popped next door and ordered and it was ready before the band had even started. I scarfed it down so quick, I burned myself, yet somehow didn't care. I cannot tell you how pleased I am that they use daiya cheese instead of just filling it with veggies and calling it done. The latter is what so many places offer when they claim to have vegan options (I'm not vegan myself, I just have an unfortunate allergy).Prices are great for the Quarter too: $9 for the regular calzones and $11 for the non-dairy version (daiya is more expensive). Only two things I wasn't keen on: they don't have a bathroom for customers so I had to walk over to Turtle Bay. Annnd, I'm a bit of a salt fiend and their calzones are pretty light on salt. I usually just use some at the table or grab some packets, but I didn't see any of either... ? So maybe having salt packets at the counter would be a good idea. I would go back gladly to try other things, and most likely will as I am often drunk and hungry in that area. I think I may need to try the desserts!

It was pretty fire if you ask me. On a rainy, cool night it was hot and delicious. Got the wings and calzone.

I gave 5 stars because everything I ordered tasted great, and the customer service by Samba was notable. Samba greeted me warmly, and was great to work with. DP DOUGH has a nice selection of Cold Drinks to choose from. I got a 20 oz GRAPE SODA which I guzzled down as I waited for the WINGS and Cheesesticks.. and a 2 LITER of PEPSI was the final purchase item.I only ordered a few items, and it was for Take Away. Pesto Cheese Breadsticks were Dynamite. They were DECADENT. I could feel my arteries CLOGGING in the very best way as I enjoyed the Gooey, Cheesy Doughy Heaven..I also ordered some WINGS, and they were on Point as well. I got the GARLIC PARMESAN Variety.D. P. DOUGH has a few tables inside and a few tables outside, but I would think you could grab it to go and walk with the Calzones or some of their Menu. I am pretty local to this spot, so it will be more a Takeout sitch than dine in most of the time. Thanks SAMBA for being easy to work with, and helping to make suggestions on the Menu

May be good if you're drunk but in general it's not really the place you want to sit and eat. The dough in my calzone was tasteless seemed undercooked. Better luck next time....

I visit New Orleans 3 to 4 times a year and I always come back to D.P. Dough. As a descendant of Italians, I very much appreciate their calzones and breads and I will keep coming back. My wife and I like to sit outside and people watch but the environment inside is not bad at all. Nothing fancy but a good opportunity to take a break from the French Quarter if one is over-stimulated. The service is always friendly and I have never had issues with anything over the years. I find insulting that someone below referred to D.P. Dough as food for drunks. I'm sure their calzones are amazing when you're smashed, but they are also perfect when you are sober and in the mood for something a little more international than muffaletas, po'boys or gumbo.
