I absolutely love the farmers market! Between the fresh fruits, vegetables and unique finds for the week. It's always a fun experience. The farmers are friendly and give great insight on what's seasonal. I frequent here often and always spread the word.

I've been to a few of these Crescent City Farmers Markets. This one, Tuesday mornings near where Broadway hits the river, was by far the largest. At some of the smaller ones, there aren't really many vegetables, but here there was at least a decent selection, as well as many specialty prepared food items.Despite the fact that there was good variety, I must admit I did buy things from vendors I knew from the other markets; the pricey vegan Thai place that was once at the Ochsner market, the veggi co-op whose flavored tofu I've usually bought at Mid-City, and the cheap vegetable tamales I get from the Warehouse District location. If I'd have known the selection was going to be good, I would have bought less food over the weekend. Still, having them all in one place was nice. The location is easy enough to drive to but not terribly close to the streetcar. There wasn't really a ton of places to sit down and eat the Thai salad I bought, so I ended up leaving with it. The vegetable selection still wasn't perfect (notably, no peppers; the hot pepper vendor I see downtown wasn't at this one). And obviously, Tuesday morning is not a good time for a lot of people. But if I can find the time, I'd come back.

The perfect little market during the week! Great parking, variety of vendors, a cute park and, that day, Woody's Fish Tacos! The weather was beautiful and I was able to pick up cucumbers from Isabel and Miguel Mendez from Independence, LA; Cat's Whiskers and Spanish Sage plants Mizell's Farm from Folsom, LA; and delicious Lemon Dill Chevre from Rocking R Dairy from Tylertown, MS. If I had more time, I would've grabbed a fresh fruit popsicle from Amanda's Frozen Fruit Bars and hang out in the park. All vendors take cash, but you can buy wooden chips with a credit card through the Crescent City Farmer's Market tent (though there is a lil' $1 processing fee). You don't have to spend all your wooden chips that day, you can bring them back or to any of the other markets associated with Crescent City Farmers Market. Personally, I love being able to support local vendors so if you've got a second in the day to pick up your week's vegetables by yourself, with friends or your kids, this is a great way to support local business! The vendors are also really great to talk to!

I don't often get to the Tuesday Market since I work downtown and the location would be quite a jaunt on a lunch break. But this past Tuesday, I happened to have the day off to spend with one of my little nieces. She, of course, remembered that on Tuesday's there's a market that sells delicious popsicles. So off we went. The popsicles (from the fruit juice vendor) were delicious, pineapple for me and strawberry for her. Since we were there at the end of the market day, much of the produce and other products were sold out. But I was able to get some Gorgeous tomatoes. I'll definitely be back on my next random Tuesday off.

This market is awesome! I'm a fresh food lover and love to support local businesses. You're going to find a variety of fruits, veggies, breads/pastries, cheeses, and seafood.Reason I'm only giving it 4 stars: some of the stands are a little aggressive. Listen, I've worked at a farm stand and understand you need to sell, but not to the point that you're making potential customers feel almost forced to buy something.Remember to bring cash!! Haven't seen anyone take credit cards. Will be back to enjoy fresh produce.Enjoy!

I don't have that much to compare it to, other than Saturday market, but I love this place. You can find all kinda stuff here. Fresh local veggies, seafood, dairy, bread and meat. They also do a "green plate" lunch that is made by a local restaurant. Last month (Dec) Tacoeaux Locoeaux (sic?) was there. I had some really yummy chicken taco thing that was fantastic. It seems they rotate restaurants every month for the green plate.I love the cheese guy from the goat farm. Oh, squeaky cheese is so very good! He has all kinds though, and I try to get a different cheese (or rotate cheese) every time I come. I can also speak very highly of Briarhill farm sweet and spicy pickles. They call to me in the middle of the night. The bread guy (there are 2, both have great breads), last time I was there talked me into a bag of the homemade granola. I am so glad he did. I can't stop eating it! And it's so good for me!Oh, and the guys selling the Mediterranean stuff. I'm gaga for his baba. Best I've ever had, hands down. The pie lady is here sometimes too. I bought a Granny Smith apple pie from her. I normally don't even like pie crust, I'm usually a just eat the filling kinda gal, but hers...nom, nom, nom. I had a clean plate. So, if you are ever on this side of town on a Tuesday and want some good, healthy, eats definitely stop by here.

Kudos for offering sustainable food from organic, local farmers! I'm spoiled; I still have visions of the Ferry Plaza farmers market dancing in my head. But, in a tiny space every Saturday, they turn our a nice variety of fruits, veggies, meat, seafood, dairy and local food artisans. Why 4 stars? The pet issue. Yes, people think it's cool to walk their friendly dogs around the market. It's just common courtesy - you can't bring your German Shepard into Rouse's or Whole Foods, so don't bring them to this market.

A good selection of hot, cold, cooked and fresh foods plus plants. There is usually a food truck or local restaurant featured offering lunches and a couple of the farmer vendors offer sandwiches or tamales that can be eaten on the spot. If you plan to eat, go early because they sell out quickly and they close promptly at 1pm.Steady features:Fresh breadFresh fruit and veggiesMilkGoat productsTamalesHot platesPopsiclesSweetsPlants

About as big as the saturday market. You can usually find fresh herbs, dairy, vegetables and fruit. You can usually also get tamales, jams/jellies, fruit juice, pies, and shrimp. Doesn't have the best selection (for example, no one sells onions, celery or garlic) and prices seem a bit steep (it's actually cheaper to buy smith creamery milk at rouses than at the market), but it's alright for what it is. It's great for getting things that are in season. The Tuesday Market runs year-round, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the northeast corner of the Tulane Square parking lot, 200 Broadway. You can get tokens by using your credit card, but there is a $1 fee (and a suggested donation) for this.

I called and was told that some vendors take credit cards or checks. Plus you can use cash or the wooden chips that you can purchase with a credit card. Great cheeses, veggies and fruits, juices, plants etc, etc, etc.
