Couyon's Express is a convenient and quick place to get the Cajun BBQ that their main Port Allen restaurant has been known for. This food trailer is conveniently located in the parking lot at the southeast corner of Perkins Road and Acadian Thruway. There's plenty of parking here, so you can then walk up and place your order.This location has a pretty extensive menu, even if it doesn't include every item available at the Port Allen location. This includes their epic line of giant stuffed potatoes that can be ordered with BBQ, fried shrimp, or more. There's the popular BBQ sandwich combos, which include a large sandwich, one side, and a drink. I really love the smoked chicken wings, but the turkey is also amazing.Your meal can be taken home and enjoyed, but I like to make it a picnic of it. City Park is located just up Perkins Road from this location. I like to take my meal up to one of the nice picnic benches under the oaks and dig in!

For any BR people who want to avoid crossing the bridge over to Port Allen to get the real thing (#1), the next best thing is to rock the food truck version that offers an express version of their condensed menu. Located next to Crawfish on the Geaux (#2) and in the parking lot of a strip mall. While I don't think the food here is better than the mothership, but they can definitely hold their own.I've been here ... a lot. (#3) A guaranteed item I'll always get is their loaded baked potato, preferably with turkey or chicken. It's caked with cheese, bacon, sour cream and with a number of fixins that make it one of the most epic meals from a food truck I've had. In terms of meats, I like the turkey and sausage with a side of their cajun rice + mac and cheese. The three meat plate is the way to go for me.I am not overly fond of their crawfish etoufée and find their loaded fries to be underwhelming. Family Pack is good but at $60 it's definitely kind of pricey. I would also avoid their food truck tacos and/or fried shrimp. I think sticking to their sides and main meats is the way to go.Service has always been good and things are served fairly quickly. If there is a wait / lines, they disappear pretty fast. Parking can be a little tricky, but there's always more spaces in the back. I go here when 225 best eats has a voucher. I will usually get the 3 meat plate with coleslaw, hush puppies and banana pudding. I usually order and wait maybe 5 minutes for everything to be ready. The service has always been great and quick. Food is really good. I often will have leftovers for the next day. I think the only thing I'd like would that the hush puppies would be bigger and have a big more flavoring. Otherwise, I enjoy going here for BBQ.

This is the best barbecue I've found in Baton Rouge. The rib was perfectly smoked with no chewiness, just tender rib. The chicken wings were wonderful. Wonderful. Tender, smoky, yummy chicken wings. I always have my sauce on the side and I tried the sweet and the smoky. I liked the smoky best, because there's a slight spicy hint. So yummy. The Mac and Cheese is just Mac and Cheese. The rice dressing is like a dry gumbo or étouffée and was delish. As you go by here STOP AND EAT! You'll be glad you did.

Had the loaded shrimp potato (minus the onions). It was soooo good -- flavorful, fresh, and the perfect temperature. I'll be back over and over again!

We love this BBQ! The loaded potato is huge and I got it with chopped brisket, delicious! The pulled pork nachos are also gigantic and so good! Highly recommended!

Delicious food and convenient location. It was crowded with folks picking up their to go orders but it moved quickly. YUMMO!

We ordered food on a recommendation from a friend. I was very disappointed. I ordered the Mardi Gras potato with eight additional shrimp. The potato itself was fine but the shrimp were unacceptable. The shrimp was a little bit too salty. And, they were too big not to be deveined! None of the shrimp were deveined! The ribs and smoked sausage were good. The baked beans was also good. The rice dressing was disappointing. And, the brisket was just okay. Also, they were completely out of chicken.

Two stars because when I am able to go there and actually order and get food I expect the food and delay will be worth it, however three times now I went to this location during the lunchtime period and struck out. The first time I went, there was no truck. The second time I went there was no food truck and I called Port Allen and was told that they ran out of food. The third time there was a truck but the front window said they were closed. People/workers were there in the trailer & was told they would open in approximately 30 minutes so walked around the shopping center for more than 30 minutes and they still did not open. Walked back to the truck and and the trailer door was closed and no evidence of any opening soon. Three times since the beginning of April and this writer and Couyon's world has not aligned and I depart disappointed and hungry. I shall return and hope I can at least get food the next time.

Food Truck...Great Potatoes! Had with mine with Turkey, very juicy. Quick service. Will be back.
