Oh my. Stop reading and go. Right now. If you're still reading, I'll give my take but I can't do justice to the insanely amazing meal I just had. When you go, you get a meat option, a large side , and two small sides. The menu changes daily and it's on their website and the board outside. II ordered the fried ribs with a large side of Mac and cheese, plus dirty rice and candied yams. I don't like candied yams, I panicked and ordered them. They were the most amazing yams I've ever had. It was like a desert but still savory somehow. The dirty rice was delicious. Kinda spicy like it should be but anything I say to describe it will fall short. The ribs were almost like a cross between cracklins and fried chicken, but again, I'm not doing it justice. If you could take the best parts of both of those and smash them together, but then season it better than anything you've ever tasted, that's about halfway to a good description.Y'all. That 5 star Mac and cheese was the star. I don't meant to say that anything was less than perfection, but that Mac and cheese deserves a seat on the 50 yard line for the season at the dome. Pro tip, if you can make it work, I just happened to get the end of the pan, with the burned cheese on the sides. They should sell that as a side. Just go. Right now. Don't care if they're closed, just wait. I can't wait to go back!

I've heard so much about this place and finally had the time to check them out.Their parking is both lot and street parking. Given their popularity I would recommend preparing to park on the street. I'd also recommend either using their delivery service or preparing to wait. There is limited seating on the inside, so prepare to takeout versus dining in.The staff is very friendly and there is music playing to help pass time, while waiting. There's so many different selections to choice from. I ordered the $14.99 meal. It includes an entree, a large side, and two small sides. Their drinks are reasonably priced at $3. They serve everything until they run out of it, so make sure to arrive early. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try New Orleans style food. And the plus is that it's all home cooked. I also like that their sides include green vegetables so one is able to have a balanced meal.

I absolutely love Chicken's Kitchen! The food is amazing--portions are a solid 10/10, and the taste is unmatched. Customer service? Top-notch. Everyone is super friendly, welcoming, and kind. And the price? You simply can't beat it; there's nowhere else offering this kind of value. One of the things I appreciate most is how transparent they are about their process. Through social media and online updates, you can see them prepping and cooking fresh every day. What really stands out is how they rely heavily on vegetables to season their food, which is exactly how the best flavors are created. If you love to cook, you know that seasoning with veggies makes all the difference, and they nail it every time. You can tell they put a lot of heart into everything they do, and you can taste it in every bite. For me, Chicken's Kitchen makes every day feel like Thanksgiving. Whenever I want to treat myself or get my soul food fix, this is the only place I want to be. Thank you, Chicken's Kitchen, for always delivering excellence!

I've been trying to get here for years and I'm happy I finally made it when they were open! I was no more than the 10th person in line before they opened. When I tell you the customer service was amazing! It reminded me of being at the Breakfast Klub in Houston when you arrived at opening. They come outside to greet you and hold the door open to let everyone in. The amount of food for the price is more than reasonable it took me two days to finish my plate. Everything was really good and I loved how the greens and cornbread complemented each other. There's even a dessert business inside the restaurant. I'll try to do a separate review but I love seeing an old fashioned yellow cake with chocolate icing. I got the cookie butter cake. I'll definitely be back on a different day to try something else. This place was well worth the wait

I wish I could give this spot 10 stars. I'm not even sure where to begin with my review because the food was simply delicious. Genuinely some of the best food I've ever had. So much so, my partner and I returned a 2nd time the morning after our first visit (and just an hour before we had to catch our flight back home) and found that we were not the only ones in line before opening. Amazing service which I find to be the standard in NOLA. The vibe inside isn't anything special but I could not recommend this spot more for some good down south cooking. I often think of doing a spontaneous 1 day trip to NOLA just to grab a plate there & another for the road. 10/5

Today is Thursday and I have really been wanting to try the blackened salmon. Every time I try to get some they are always sold out. So I was sure to get this as soon as they opened and they did not disappoint. I'm not into heavy soul food meals much anymore but I can appreciate the creaminess of the Mac and cheese. The salmon was nice and tender and not over cooked. Also for the cream corn. I probably won't get that again because it had meat in it. Not fond of meat in every side. We also got the fried catfish and boy I will go back time and time again for that. Since we were some of the first patrons we were greeted with a very warm welcome, true southern hospitality. If you are looking for a nice soul food meal check this place out.

I loved everything about this place. This place is worth the queue I waited in to get in this place. We order the hen, dressing, cabbage, Mac and cheese, fried chicken, fried fish, okra stew, black eye peas and dirty rice. The portion size was plenty and we had leftovers. Everyone who worked there was kind and seemed like they enjoyed their job. I will make sure to visit this place the next time I return to NOLA. ALS, there were a few seats to eat your meal, but most people do take out.

Was not a fan. Food was horrible, the potato salad had no seasoning and nor relish just mayonnaise and potatoes. The five cheese lasagna only tasted like one cheese and that was parmesan. As you can see from one picture, there was a layer with nothing between it. I'm not sure what the hype is about this restaurant but this wasn't it. Due to capacity restrictions they only allow a limited number of guests in the restaurant. Doors opened at 10:30 and I didn't get in the door until 10:45am. Bring you a fly swatter because you'll need while waiting outdoors. The customer service was by far amazing. The employees had a great level of patience and professionalism. They took their time with each guess.
