Nestled just a very short walk (1/2 block) from the Troubadour Hotel in the Central Business District, Chapter IV offers a delightful dining experience that combines a vibrant atmosphere with a gallery of African-American art. This bright and airy restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch all day, with a focus on delicious Creole cuisine.Under the expert guidance of Chef Edgar "Dook" Chase, grandson of the legendary Leah Chase, the menu features mouthwatering dishes such as barbecue shrimp and flavorful omelettes. Each bite was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of New Orleans.Don't miss out on their exquisite Bloody Marys and refreshing mimosas, which perfectly complement the meal. Given its upscale ambiance and popularity, I highly recommend making reservations. Everything about Chapter IV was simply delightful--an experience not to be missed!

Came for birthday brunch festivities for family. We were a huge group so kudos to the staff for trying to remain attentive. The oyster Rockefeller was a great start to the meal. After I had the shrimp and grits and can't complain about that. Everyone in the party had a little bit of everything off the menu and no complaints. Definitely a good addition to the already incredible food scene in New Orleans !

I've heard such great things about Chapter IV and had been longing to try next time I was in the area. I stopped by during the week so there weren't many people inside. The restaurant is very beautiful indoors and I noticed they even had an area for outdoor seating. I was greeted immediately and all of the staff were super friendly. I opted to try the oyster Rockefeller and the catfish and grits. The fried oyster itself was fried to perfection and was pretty good, however the creamed spinach, jalapeños, and pickled onions accompanying the dish were just okay. I didn't feel as if it added to the dish, but more so brought it down. This could be a great starter but I think there needs to be something done differently to give it that wow effect! The catfish and grits presentation wise looked outstanding, but taste wise not so much. I was expecting to be wowed but it was just okay. The sausage inside was good, I did like that, however the catfish reminded me of frozen fish and that, I did not like. The corn maque choux atop of the fish was promising but seemed to lack seasoning. The grits were okay too I'd give them a 6.5/10. All in all chapter iv is a beautiful restaurant with really wonderful staff, I could definitely see tourists enjoying this place. I just wished I enjoyed it a little bit more

Still one of my favorite spots ever! If you've not visited, you certainly should. Located right in the CBD - heart of New Orleans. You truly won't be disappointed.

My friend and I went to Chapter lV after church. Do we were there as soon as they opened for 9am, so missed the rush. Since I am trying to eat healthier, I decided to go with their beet salad, and their bowl of gumbo. It was exactly what I needed. The gumbo was really good and seasoned well, ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture lol. Beet salad, comes with crab, was just what I needed, it was refreshing and I was full without feeling heavy. Will be frequenting this restaurant every chance I get!

My coworker is from the north shore and when we decided to meet up for lunch we both had this restaurant at the top of our list. We did make a reservation, but when we got there (around noon on a Friday), there seemed to be plenty open seating. I love the layout and design of the restaurant. It is very open and inviting and not too crowded with tables. The food did not disappoint! The salmon was cooked to perfection- very juicy and flavorful. The martini was the perfect balance of sweetness, coffee, and liquor. As you can see from my photos, the dishes and drinks were beautifully presented as well. Our server was very attentive but not overbearing. I can't wait to go back to try more food!

Wow! What an amazing restaurant. I loved the aesthetic of the place, it has great natural lightning and beautiful artwork. We didn't have reservations but was greeted warmly and seated almost immediately. Our server Chloe was phenomenal. She provided excellent customer service. She was the consummate professional. I had the gumbo and the Louisiana blue crab and beet salad. The gumbo was perfection, great color and flavor. The salad was unique and a perfect culmination of flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. I will definitely eat here again.

I visited Chapter IV for lunch. The food and service was good. I had the citrus glazed salmon with the crab fried rice which I really enjoyed but found the portion size a little small (I have a hearty appetite ). Since I had room I got bread pudding which was pretty traditional. There are a few other things I want to try on the menu so I'll be back.

The prices were shockingly good for the quality of the food. I got the crab and beet salad and was surprised by the amount of grab and beets. Genuinely surprised!Added to how delicious it was and they've turned me into someone recommending the restaurant to strangers. Good place for having conversations while eating. Not too loud in the place. Service was a little forgetful of our drinks but once reminded, they were brought out immediately. Not a knock because sometime you just get super distracted as a server and with a little reminder, it was addressed ASAP.

I visited Chapter IV for the first time over the weekend. My friend and I didn't have a reservation and it was a busy day but the hostess was so gracious to find us a table after a brief wait. That was a pleasant surprise and we were grateful. The space is bright and sunny and a bit on the sterile side but all the white gave it a clean and modern feel. Immediately upon being seated we were served water and took some time to look over the menu which has sooo many options. I ordered the catfish and grits with the corn maque choux and my friend ordered the crab cake, bbq shrimp and a side of grits. Everything tasted amazing. They really got the flavors right, which is not a surprise as this restaurant is the brainchild of the famous Dookie Chase family of restauranteurs. I'd definitely go here for brunch again.
