In a food court within a building housing a theater and business offices. Fairly quiet and non-chaotic. Fellow diners wearing everything from suits to working uniforms. Tables clean and floors free of debris. Not a long line, and a less than 5 min wait. Very friendly service & obviously good at multitasking.Came recommended by co-workers. I had skipped on it before because I'm not much of a sandwich person, but found out about the hot bar and opted for the ribs, mac & cheese and steamed cabbage.Ribs were okay. A bit fatty for my taste because I don't like removing it from my mouth in public. Some portions of it needed more sauce. Probably the most annoying part of it was the small plastic fork & knife I was provided to cut them, but then again, most people probably would have picked them up and eaten with their hands.Mac and cheese was just mac and cheeseThe cabbage was AMAZING! It also had bits of broccoli in it and was very well flavored. I could have eaten a bowl of it with some chopped ham deli meat if I had known. Maybe next time.Portions were ample and pricing ($10.99 + tax) was on spot. Will try again, and this time bring my own silverware.

It's under construction so had to get a prepackaged muffuletta from behind the cashier of the packaged store next door. Oh well we ate it at the daiquiri store and it was still good!

Was looking for a snack to tide me over before an early dinner while staying dry in canal place shopping center and picked this spot over the Chinese fast food spot in the food court. It's a good option as they have a variety of items. Sandwiches and soups and even corn dogs. I opted for something quick so I got a cup of gumbo. The gumbo had lots of chicken and even a couple pieces of sausage. The rice is packed on bottom to make it easier for takeout. A small cup was around $5. Enough for a rainy afternoon.

Don't judge the food by the appearance of the place. The food and service was great. The chicken gumbo, my God, so good, flavorful and full of meat and spices. Also, had a shrimp po-boy with the works. Tasty and full of shrimp. French Bread was toasted just right.

I had just finished visiting the aquarium and was figuring out where to eat. I decided to give the food court a try at Canal Place. The food court is on the third floor. I found Centre Deli and gave it a try.Being Canadian, the curious and cool spelling of the business caught my attention. I liked the look of this place in the middle of the afternoon. You had the option of getting hot or cold items.Since it was hot and humid outside, I went with a sandwich instead of a hot dish. Considering that the shrimp po boy that I had at a different establishment wasn't all that great, I gave it a try here. One word: redemption! The shrimp po boy here was outstanding. Flavourful, yummy shrimp in a bun that was perfect. So good!Sometimes, you find gems at a food court. Centre Deli is one of them. I would come back here in a heartbeat.(34)

I love the Centre Deli. Located on the 3rd floor in Canal Place, Centre Deli is a solid lunch option if you are in the area. My office is very nearby, and this is my go-to spot, especially when I am in a hurry; as the service is always quick. The deli is actually 2 delis in one. The left side is the hot foot bar. They feature a plethora of local comfort foods such as baked chicken, fried chicken, baked fish, baked salmon, fried fish, meatloaf, stuffed bell peppers, lasagna and a variety of vegetables. My favorite is the baked chicken, as the pieces are HUGE. I always get the steamed veggies which consist of a blend of cabbage, broccoli and carrots. However, I've had the fried fish, the salmon and the gumbo and have never been disappointed. I don't know her name, but there is a wonderfully nice hispanic lady who always works the hot line and enthusiastically greets her regular customers. The right side of the deli is for sandwiches. Their hot sausage po-boy is my favorite in the city. Yeah you heard me right when I said that my favorite hot sausage po-boy comes from a deli in a mall's food court. They have NEVER overcooked and dried out the patty style sausage, and it is always dripping with fatty flavorful goodness' and the french bread is always fresh. If you are in the area around lunchtime, give this place a try. It will forever change your viewpoint on food court food. They damn sure made a believer out of me.

***As of 6/4/15, Centre Deli is NOT closed!***I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you're like me and work in Canal Place, you don't have a whole lot of options in the building. The ladies that run the deli are quick and efficient and very sweet. The hot foods are very good and I've had some really good meals here under $10 including salmon, fried chicken, and lasagna. I am more likely grab a small hot sausage po-boy and fries for about $7 or if I am having a bad day I splurge with a grilled cheese with bacon. The deli also has breakfast items like bagel and croissant sandwiches, grits and eggs.

Centre Deli is a cool spot at the food court in the Shops at Canal Place that serves authentic New Orleans cuisine at very reasonable prices.Since it's in a mall and a bit off the beaten path for tourists, you won't see outlandish rates for po'boys or jambalaya (and that's exactly what we ate).My Dad had his first po'boy with turkey, which was basically a regular sandwich on the crispy bread. I enjoyed a large jambalaya with a Pineapple Fanta (a flavor that's deceptively difficult to find near me in the Northeast). The jambalaya was not entirely substantial on its own, so I probably should have ordered a side item, or gone for one of the sandwiches. He enjoyed the po'boy and the small was a nice size.

The nice ladies who work here made me a muffaleta sandwich early in the morning and wrapped it in plastic so I could take it with me on the airplane and avoid paying for those expensive and lousy airplane food. I'm not really a muffaleta guy, but the container of grapes I bought were fresh and tasty. Located on the third floor in the food court at the Shops at Canal Place.

I was shopping and needed a quick lunch. This place was perfect, as it's located on the third floor of the mall. As a tourist, I wanted to try a po-boy and this place had them! Service was quick and friendly, and I got a small Po-boy for under $6! They also had other New Orleans cuisines like jambalaya. If you're shopping in the mall, this is a good place to eat. There is a $5 minimum purchase to use a card.
