Central Poboys

I love this little poboy shop. They are one of the only places in the city that offer a panned anything. I look for panned and no one does it! It is a New Orleans thing that was the style of ya momma's cooking! Anyway, that was good and the shrimp were good. I told my mom about it and she went there for lunch with a friend a couple of times. The place is kind of a hole in a wall with a decent amount of seating inside. You can call ahead and pick up to go, you can order at the bar (about 6 stools), or you can dine in. They have plenty of good poboy and seafood dishes to choose for and all reasonably priced. Note that this wonderful place closes early, like 5 or 6, but it is open on Saturday. Keep doing what you're doing and I will be back!

I live right next to this establishment and I don't go enough. They have an extensive menu with specials, nice seating area (the shop next door is also good but doesn't offer this), a full bar, and someof the best alligator po-boys I've ever had. The fries are crispy and delicious as well. The staff is friendly and efficient so it's a great lunch spot even if you're in a rush. I always take my visitors here for a lunch spot in the neighborhood.

It was my first time here. Tiny place, very clean, very friendly. Ordered and got my salad in a minute. Everything else came in 11 minutes. This is the best food I'd had in a long time.We'll be back! Fantastic food and service!

I found this place pleasing, clean with a great staff. I got the fried chicken and it was a little overcooked with very little batter. My nephew got a burger and it was also overcooked. Nothing special. I onion rings, although we didn't get any, looked great. The fried seafood looked good too.I will give it another try soon. Maybe we will make better food choices.

I'm ashamed to say I only recently heard about Central Poboys even though they have been around for over a decade. Central Poboys has some amazing burgers, like their roast beef debris burger, and their poboys are really large. They also have a great selection of daily specials and then you don't want to miss their dessert options. We were always curious about this place because we pass by often and when it is open, there's lots of cars... they are open only Monday through Friday from 11am to 3pm. Yes, they have limited hours but it is a MUST TRY kind of place. Their staff is super friendly, the place is really cool and the food is OH MY! We tried the onion rings and they are definitely the best onion rings in town. We also tried the burger and shrimp poboys and they were also extremely good. You can tell that they strive for quality and customer service. I know the hours are limited but make it happen! You won't regret it.

Huge portions, interesting menu, friendly staff. Easy location. Only minus, attention to detail. Burger was overcooked, tiny amount of lettuce/ tomato on dressed burger.Onion rings are tasty but a tad greasy. Overall, great lunch, we'll be back! Easy to see why this place is a neighborhood favorite.

Love the lunch specials! Affordable always hot and fresh. Waitstaff is impeccable! The place is well lit and the television is on the news.

The establishment is very nice &so is the staff! It appeared to be very clean as well. When I went, I ordered the shrimp on bun with added cheese and grilled onions, small fries & a sprite. The total came up to $22 and some change. I wasn't a fan of the fries, honestly, because I didn't enjoy the way they were fried.. it was too crunchy for me (but not in a burnt crunchy way, maybe they have batter on their fries). The sandwich was good, it tasted like a traditional shrimp on bun. However, the cheese and grilled onion really set it off for me!! It took it up a level! I just was turned off by the fact that some of the shrimp were deveined and some weren't. For that reason I won't reorder it. Everything was very fresh and didn't take too long for me to receive. Overall it was okay, nothing to be crazy over. I give it an 8/10.

Your food is always good but we tryed yr muffaletta was not very good it was a huge ham sandwich I will not order that again not close enough guys
