This restaurant opened a couple months ago and I tried it for the 1st time with my family we ordered 3 double cheeseburgers with shrimp and fries and a cheese burger with fries while waiting for our order they gave my wife a fried jumbo shrimp and it was really delicious. The food was really good, the owners working there were courteous, polite, funny and very informative. The atmosphere was very comfortable and the clean I would highly recommend this restaurant is your in the area. We are definitely going back to try other items on the menu.

This place was a lifesaver. It was late on a Friday night as we were driving across the country and we needed a meal. We didn't think we'd be able to find anything tasty and then we found Captain Hook's. The food is fresh, copious, and delicious! We each had a shrimp Po' Boy ... it was the best I've ever had!The people working were super friendly and generous. They shared the glory that is their house made ice cream too! Try the cinnamon flavor.

February 9, 2024To improve, they must care how they run their business.I went to this restaurant on Airline Highway today, for the third time. The first time I went, they made my order perfectly and it was delicious. But, all that did was pull me in for their continual disappointment on my next 2 visits. The last time and today, they modified my plate without telling me. FYI, they wrap up your styrofoam plate in 2 separate bags, and tape it closed, so that you won't check your order there. So, today, I asked if my plate had been modified. The server literally told me what my plate had on it. She said, "Yes, the rice and veggies". I told her what had happened the last time and how disappointing it was to get home and expect to have veggies and rice with my grilled seafood, only to find cold, dried out french fries. So,...Today, it was reversed. They decided to substitute cold, dried out french fries for the grilled veggies that I ordered with it. The cook, who knew he had put the fries on there, sat there and listened and didn't even say, "well, there's fries on your plate again today, cause we're out of the complete ingredients AGAIN."Not only that, today my fish and the rice were dry and overcooked. They ruined the fish and it didn't even flake like Snapper should, it was tough, giant chunks. I had to drink water to get it down because the dryness caused it to all stay together in a lump, going down.I'm through with giving greedy, inconsiderately run restaurants my money, over and over again. It was so nice to see a restaurant on this side of town, with more to offer than fried food. But, this restaurant has poor inventory management, and they're too greedy to even let a customer know when they've changed something on a customer's order. French fries do not even go with a Grilled Snapper and Shrimp plate, with yellow rice and veggies. Who would want dried out fries with this dish, and especially after clearly stating how it ruined my experience the last time?I'm so tired of the lack of honor and integrity in most modern business owner's business practices. They no longer care about customers nor quality.I do hope this business closes down, like all businesses should when they disrespect their customer's hard earned money, by lying and omitting information, just to make sure that their sale is made.

OMG unless you're feeding three people you may want to rethink ordering the LARGE chicken liver dinner. I'll have to look up recipes for using fried chicken livers as a leftover ingredient for tomorrow's meal. Both the chicken livers and the fried fish were cooked well. I had a delay getting home which left my fries a little soggy so I can't say how crisp they might have been to start out with. I originally planned on eating in instead of taking things home, but staff had haphazardly taped signs on both the men AND women's bathrooms that they were "out of order", so no way to wash up before or after a meal. Tables were not particularly clean either and the establishment really needs a bit of a rehab to be enticing to eat on site. Mind you it's a very small establishment with maybe six or eight very small tables so they evidently cater primarily to take out. I wish they had had something (ANYTHING) on the menu that wasn't deep fried. A real NON FRIED vegetable option on the menu would have been appreciated. Not the best fried fish that I've ever had, but it was tilapia instead of catfish which is a nice change of pace. Plus, finding a place that even wants to deal with frying chicken livers is a rarity these days and I was having a hankering for them today. That said, I could feel the oil draining out of my pores after eating so much fried food.Kind of on the fence regarding strongly recommending this place. They obviously have a niche by having unusual things that they fry like chicken livers and chicken gizzards, as well as other types of fish beyond just catfish. But... and it's a big butt, they don't keep up the establishment particularly well physically and their menu is strictly FRY CITY items.
