Held every Saturday in Old Town Slidell, this farmers market is pretty cool. There are lots of locals who set up shop here and sell produce, crafts and the like. It's from 8 a.m. till noon and you can find things like herb plants, local honey and produce. While not extremely large, it is interesting to pursue the different booths. If you go, bring cash as most of the vendors don't have the means to accept cards. Happy farmer marketing!

Great little market featuring some of the best BBQ in the area. Chef Gary Wilson serves up juicy finger licking good BBQ for you. My favorite is the smoked boudin that is absolutely amazing. No teeth or sauce required on this one just excellent smoked meat.

Not the greatest market I've been to but it's cute and small, and the people are friendly.

For a teeny suburb of New Orleans, this was a nice little excursion. It was very modest with down to earth folks selling their home-made fare. There were about 7-10 vendors. Few produce but the produce that was there looked fine. We bought freshly foraged shitake mushrooms, onion, freshly baked organic multi-grain bread, local honey. We sampled a delicious tomato soup. We enjoyed our purchases and time there.
