very, very good food. a definate go to when visiting my daughter who attends Southern University. The Thursday oxtail special OMG!!! the greens and yams! the chicken wings and onion rings! Sinfully delicious! I almost passed out I was so stuffed. I couldn't stop eating!!! Will definitely come again and will absolutely tell my people in Cali this is the spot to come to when visiting!

Kountry Kitchen is right. "Don't judge a book by its cover." Its a great little "hole in the wall" so if you're looking for "ambience" - move on. But if you like good, homemade fresh cooking, then pull up a chair and pick from the hot food bar. Had meatloaf and mashed potatoes and for a moment, I was at my Grandmother's table. Yummy!

I have been there twice. Once for the exceptionally well seasoned grilled shrimp garden salad and for the crawfish etoufee. Wow! I have never had such tasty and very well seasoned grilled shrimp. The crawfish etouffee was outstanding. The sauce is more like a medium-thin gravy full of delicious seasoning and full of crawfish - lots of crawfish! Filling and satisfying. The environment is very homey, southern and the owners are very friendly. I love it!!!

Go here for good old fashioned southern cooking, it taste amazing! I had red beans and rice with FRIED CHICKEN and sausage in it...enough said! It wasn't the prettiest restaurant, but their food taste so good you won't really care.

I had the grilled fish poboy again today and excellent as usual. My wife got the grilled shrimp poboy and we shared. Shrimp poboy was as good if not better!!!! Poupart bread on both (almost like desert). We now have new usual. Get both and split them!!!! Also staff friendly and helpful as always.

All I can say is Mmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmmah!!!! The food the service and the atmosphere are outstanding!!!!!

Legit with a capital L! Breakfast and lunch, local style, cooked with love. Burgers, salads (shrimp! Crawfish!), étouffée, poboys, muffuletta, 12 different sides to choose from (only $1.50 each)As for breakfast, the large platter is $4.99 - the most expensive thing on the breakfast menu. Kolaches only $1.79Git it!

Went there for lunch to get a muffaletta and the worst I every had. Can not believe they would even say that was a muffaletta. That was a ham sandwich by far.
