"This is a family-run local establishment that deserves support. I haven't posted on Yelp for years but wanted to make sure that this place got some reviews started since I didn't see any. Ted and his wife run Pho Bayou, which is a local, clean restaurant where the flavors are true and the prices are more than reasonable. They've been open for 4 months and spent 7 months post-hurricane Ida cleaning up the restaurant to get it ready for opening since it was 4 feet underwater and a foot of mud. Also, there's not much in the area for food options, so if you're driving down visiting the area after an air boat or swamp tour, give this place some patronage please. We had the fried eggrolls which tasted great (would recommend pairing it with the fish sauce instead of the sweet and sour sauce), pho noodle soup (nice portion for the regular size and had all the right accompaniments), the lunch special pork rice (the fried rice tasted homemade and very flavorful), and I had the cold rice noodle chicken dish (it is really well put together and probably uses white meat chicken breast to better suit local tastes) which the homemade fish sauce made by Ted's wife only helps amplify the flavors. If a place like Banh Mi Boys in Metairie can get 4 stars on Yelp from the hivemind when they burned our pork, this place is more than qualified of some love and attention from the Yelp community. Note, we didn't try any of the more fusion-y or Chinese foods on the menu but for Vietnamese food, I would say this was on point."
"Quite possibly the best pho I've ever had? This place is amazing! We ordered the chicken pho with dark meat, and the flavors were out of this world. I like my food spicy so I requested & added chili oil to it, and it was just next level good. My daughter loved her kids size chicken pho as well (she's a picky eater so I was happy to see her eat this without complaining!). Definitely worth a try!"

"WOW. This is the National dish of Vietnam and Pho House Cafe has approached it with a menu, singly focusing on Pho Bo, with the passion of an artist. I lived in Vietnam for four years and rarely had bowls this good there. The mouthfeel of the broth is silky and clean. They use purified water for the broth. The spices subtle but complimenting. The beef is fantastic quality with bits of brisket and tenderloin that melt like butter in your mouth, spoonful after spoonful. This location I think would get more attention in the city but for those ready to make a drive to the outer reaches of Kenner, they will find it, with every slurp, worth the drive. The condiments also crisp and fresh and house the made chili sate is dreamy. Add a Vietnamese iced coffee, with coffee imported from the home country, while enjoying a bowl of this magic and you have an experience that transcends you to Vietnam, without the costly airfare. Yes .... You will also pay more for this lovely bowl, than anywhere else in town. Worth every penny! The restaurant is clean and fresh from dining room to bathroom. The attention to detail and to customer satisfaction is delivered from end to end. That in and of itself a rarity, in these times."
"After eating here several times a week for months now. I can openly say each and every dish you order is made with professionalism and love! I am completely vegan so my eating needs are a bit challenging for most restaurants. Not here though they will accommodate all your dietary needs. The scenery is very quaint and homely so get relaxed and enjoy your meal."
"We love this owner and operated business! Long is very good with his prices never he never likes to see a person wait and if you do, you're definitely gonna be offered a drink of! He has a combination of sushi for the menu goes on and on!thank you for you Kindness Long, Vinnie's Pharmacy"
"Wonderful to have this Vietnamese restaurant in our neighborhood. We come here for takeout frequently. Food is excellent and service is great too."
"Came back recently to try a few other things and I am even more impressed! Their owner, Jim, who I finally got to meet, makes all of the soup/noodle dishes himself! So it definitely has that homemade Vietnamese flavor. Another thing, they sell fresh nuoc rau ma, which is pennywort. It is my favorite drink ever! It is so refreshing. My friend tried it and says it tastes very grassy. So definitely not for everyone. And, they are the only Vietnamese restaurant IN THE CITY to sell mi quang. And it is rollllinnnggg. It's served with wide, yellow noodles, shrimp, and a few other things. Bun rieu - this is a vermicelli soup dish that comes with Tofu, pork blood, and crabmeat balls. This is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes and Bamboo Cafe is probably my favorite place to get it.Bun bo hue - spicy beef noodle soup. This soup dish has so much flavor. The only thing I would recommend is to have pig hock in it. Not many people like eating it in restaurants bc of how dirty it can get, but it makes BBH so much better. The accoutrements are lime, fresh basil, cabbages, bean sprouts, and fresh chili peppers that are cut up. They also provide shrimp paste and sate for added flavor and spice. All of their soup dishes come out piping hot, which is how all restaurants should serve their food! I will come back again and again and recommend it to all of my friends."
"Great Chinese food in the quarter. The service is A+++. Bao is the best. This place is a nice little "secret" of the French Quarter but if you're looking for something different to eat in downtown besides the typical New Orleans cuisine, definitely check this place out. Can't wait to go back."
"If you get a chance, do not pass this gem up. Nice modern bistro with really great Vietnamese food. Service is great and the local vibes were chill. Great rice specials and tasty pho. I am beyond obsessed with their Strawberry Boba"
"How is this place not on yelp. I've been there twice. Im from a city with a legitimate Vietnamese community. It's so freaken busy it's almost comedy. There are more Vietnamese people eating here than I've seen in the entire city the entire time I've been here. I can't judge against the pho in the rest of the city. But I've have the bun Bo hue. While less spicey than I'm used to it is very solid. Good amount of protein. Had their pho Bo. Also solid compare to vancouver Canada where I'm from"
"The service was good, fast, and the atmosphere was fantastic. After being in loud and hot restaurants, this one was refreshingly quiet and cool. The fish all tasted very fresh, I had both salmon and tuna sushi. The cucumber I got on the first veggie roll I had was bitter, but they checked their supply, cut a fresh cucumber, and remade it no problem. You can see them as they make the food. The thai tea was so delicious and had that lovely warm spice flavor, it was perfect for the hot day. It is in a perfect location within walking distance to many downtown hotels and I would recommend it for a quick lunch or drink."
"Whenever I'm in Metairie, a stop at Nudo is a must. Every dish on the menu is mouthwatering, but I can't resist starting with the Nudo Fusion wings--currently ranking in my top 5 favorite wings of all time. I also always stick with the Shaken Beef, which never fails to impress with its bold and savory flavors. The Spicy Beef Pho is an indulgent side that I usually enjoy by the spoonful, and it's a testament to the culinary magic happening in their kitchen. The service here is always exemplary--patient, attentive, and accommodating, especially when I need to take my soup to go. (A process I admittedly struggle with!) A heads-up: the restaurant is cozy and tucked away in a parking lot with limited spaces, so plan accordingly."

Pho Bayou is a hidden gem 20 minutes from Downtown New Orleans in the town of Jean Lafitte. Authentic and delicious Vietnamese food that will crush your craving for that soul satisfying comfort food of Pho! I have tried many Pho restaurants and never really took a liking to it until I tried Pho Bayou. The owners are so kind and friendly! They made us feel like we were at home. We enjoyed our experience so much that this has become our new favorite spot! We get to take in the views of this beautiful little bayou town while enjoying amazing food. We will definitely be back again and again!

This little hidden gem has the best combo bang mi in the city! The seafood soup is sometimes the best depending on the day. But really I have a defined palette and am a harsh critic when it comes to food having spent 30 plus years in feeding high end palettes and traveling abroad. This is the best banh mi locally!

We tried this place because we wanted a Vietnamese restaurant closer to our home rather than the places where we normally go on Manhattan Blvd. I am so glad we went here. We started with coconut shrimp and the shrimp spring rolls. The coconut shrimp appetizer was just okay. The shrimp spring rolls were really delicious and fresh. I had a chicken banh mi sandwich and it was fantastic. My husband had a shrimp banh mi sandwich and it was also very tasty. We will definitely be going back.

Them bun bo hue and nuoc mia qua!!!! I love how they're located in a strip mall ; but all the way in the back corner. Lots of shade. You can eat inside or sit outside. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff . Always clean . Good luck in the future.

On the corner of St. Ann and Dauphine, in the French Quarter, this Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant is perfect for some mid day snacking, or lunch, but only if you have the time. They aren't super speedy, so call ahead if you are short on time, or get the food delivered if you are in the delivery area. There aren't too many options for PHO in the French Quarter, but after some seeking and testing on my part, I can say that I like this pho over the other option for the following reason: $4 more in my pocket! The spring rolls were pretty good. The prices are GREAT.

"I was really surprised, but the portion size is pretty good. The cut must be chicken thighs, because it was pretty juicy, but it's definitely dark meat. It also has a pinch of carrots and cucumbers in the bowl as well. The food took about 10 or 15 minutes to come out. They have some indoor seating, so I ate at the countertop that's at the window/wall. Best part is that it's on a side street off of Tulane, so no paid parking. Yes!!!"
"After a Saturday morning h.s. basketball game, our large group was hungry and we picked this spot (it was within 10 minutes of where we were). The ambiance was casual with a small bar, about six tables of 4 with place mats, small fake plants (tags still on them) and plastic white tablecloths. We were the only ones in the restaurant until the last ten minutes or so when we were paying our bill. Two women assisted us throughout the meal. It took a while for us to get our apps and drinks (came out together) and I suspect it was due to short staff. One set of wings came out well after we received our entrees. My lemonade had a lot of sugar at the bottom of the glass; I did not finish it. I expected more toppings on my bulgogi fries, but the fries themselves were delicious. Of all the food items people ordered, the chicken baos, wings and fries were most liked. A few of the teens said they would have their dishes again. I doubt I'll return."
"On point in Every Aspect quaint classy, Amazing service! Can't wait to come back and stay here at the Hotel! This is such a "SWEET," hip area in New Orleans!"
"Wow my last review is almost 11 years old! 9 Roses is still one of the OG Vietnamese restaurants in the GNO. I LOVE the chao tom (shrimp paste on sugarcane skewers) and you build your own wrap at the table. They also have a few Chinese favorites. Plus good vegetarian options. Service is good and the restaurant is always clean and the parking lot is easy to navigate. Accessibility for those in wheelchairs is also good."
"Ordered beef pho and Vietnamese tacos, very tasty. Staff really nice. Also stopped by during king cake season, staff also really nice. I will definitely be back"
"It's called a mini mart, but honestly, there wasn't much of a mart. Some beverages, some snacks, some of this and that. The bulk of the store's public square footage is occupied by tables and chairs, there to support the star...their kitchen.I came for the Vietnamese food. On my first visit, I picked up Pork Sliders and Chicken Vermicelli. When my food came out, I felt how heavy my containers were, so I knew they didn't skimp on the portions. Dug in when I got back to the office and I was not disappointed. Meats in both orders were seasoned well and cooked just right, tender and flavorful.Turns out everyone at the office are already fans and know the staff by name. (I'm late!) They tend to go for their po boys and daily specials. Gotta try 'em all!"
"I tried cream cheese king cake and a slice of the praline one. I give them both a 7.5/10. The icing is really good. Almost like a whipped cream. Now what I didn't like is the way the filling is sprinkled throughout. Both cakes lacked filling. At first I thought it was just the praline because I only had an individual slice. But nope, I had the whole cream cheese cake and it's just not enough filling inside. Great flavor though."
"I'm not a pho expert. Pho has to be really good or really bad to stand out in my mind. This pho was neither, just tasty. The service was good and the location is convenient for me too, so I can see myself becoming a repeat customer. I do really like the fact that they offer 3 sizes of pho; I'll have to try the small size in the future and see if I can actually eat it all of it in one sitting.A tip for non-locals: I strongly suggest you park on the side of the building [Buffon St] instead of in the front."
"So delicious!! I was craving something different and this definitely hit the spot! For starters, Ava Street Cafe is so clean and very open. All of the employees were so nice, great customer service. To start, I got the potstickers and tofu spring rolls. The potstickers were so good, I wish I got a second order! I didn't even need the sauce for them. The spring rolls were so fresh and huge! I have never had tofu before and these definitely made me a fan. The sauce that came with it was the perfection addition of spicy. The pork Bao buns were my favorite! The pork tasted perfect. I took the carrots off just because I am not a big carrot fan but everything else was perfect. I have had Bao buns before, but these are my favorite that I had so far. They even said the pork buns are the most popular, and I can see why! I will totally be back. Located in Essen, so kinda right in the middle of everything and great service!"
"This spot is tucked away in the center of a food strip off Manhattan. You'd never know it judging from the outside but it can easily accommodate 100+. They are mostly known for their pho ga and rice dishes. We stayed on par with the course and ordered the No.1 pho ga dac biet, hu tieu thap cam, and the salt and pepper spare ribs with rice. For my non-Viet yelpers, Dac Biet is generally used to indicate a specialty or combo on a menu. Let me be one of the firsts to tell you the broth was just that -Special. Just the way grandma makes it simmered on low for hours on end. The true test lies within the color of the broth. You're looking for a broth that's clean, clear while still full of flavor. Check. Check. And Check. Hu Tieu, like pho, is a Vietnamese noodle soup. However, it is loaded with pork, shrimp, crab meat, and tiny pieces of crispy pork skins (more of that please!). The salt and pepper spare ribs were lightly seasoned. But maybe they were off having an off day I'm certainly willing to give it another try. And while the portions were perfectly sized for me, the bowls looked tiny against my 6'2 bf. The current portions doesn't really allow much room for you to add in your fixings (leafy greens and bean sprouts). However, it is worthy to note that our food was served fast and piping hot. If the weather is too hot for soup there are other options available on the menu to choose from including vegetarian. We will definitely be back for the hu tieu and the other items on the menu."
"This local spot has amazing food and great services with a live band or karaoke. It's great spot opens everyday and open late if you just want to stop for a quick drink or a delicious vietnamese meal . Has a wide collection of alcohols and beer.. please stop by next time you're in town"
"Highly recommend shopping at this market for Asian products along with poultry, meat, rice, and fresh vegetables! The store also sell delicious Vietnamese poboys (banh mi).The workers are very helpful and friendly! #regularCustomer! #thumbUp"
"Excellent service and food top notch. Large portions so we had a lot more than we could handle."
"Small neighborhood Karaoke and Vietnamese food bar. Good for late nights belting out classic Vietnamese or American songs and having drinks with your friends. They serve alcohol as well as Vietnamese food here. It's really smoky in here, so be prepared for a shower when you get home. The Bun Bo Hue is super spicy and delicious, and the Chao is really good as well."
"Back in CA, I had an unhealthy obsession with the Quickly chain and was devastated to find my favorite branch has closed down. Been looking for a worthy contender in NOLA for years now and here I've finally found it! Not many places do a decent blended boba drink; they're often not sweet enough, not creamy, the ice is too coarse/crunchy, or the boba is still hard at the center. This one, however, was perfect. Nice strong flavor, sweet how I like it, and well blended. The boba was made right too. I tried the taro coconut smoothie with almond milk and boba and have no complaints at all. My only confusion was that I asked if they could do a blended thai tea and was told that they couldn't, but there are pictures of blended thai tea here on Yelp. :/ Hmmm...I'll definitely be back and I guess I'll ask about it again."
"One word Delish!! I live here but it took my company from California to find this spot. Get the shrimp. Oh so good"
"Made for a great lunch on a rainy day so glad they are close to my work because I will be ordering more! The egg drop soup was very good"
"Came for lunch with a friend on a Sunday. Seat yourself, they bring you a menu and take your order. I got the crab rangoons and the beef with rice. All was very good and fresh. Friendly service. Everything was neat, clean and well laid out."
"Very unassuming place with very good food. We were looking for pizza and beer and drove past on a fluke coming from Bayou Classic looking for another place that we saw on Tic Toc. What a nice surprise when we saw they also sold Pho and daiquiris!!! A solid 10 across the board. Thin crust pizza with fresh toppings! The pho broth was on point and the chicken wings were made in house! The daiquiri ice was soft and favors were good and smooth! Will definitely come again when in NOLA!"
"So amazing!! The food here is top tier. And the new location is Metairie has really cool interior decor. I'm on a mission to try everything on the menu. So far nothing has disappointed. In my opinion they have the best espresso martini in the New Orleans area. They make theirs with Ube. It's so good!!"
"Ordered the Bun vermicelli noodles and shrimp and it was great. A friend ordered the pho and it was great as well. Always a good option if you want some Vietnamese delivery."
"Super nice experience last night. Excellent tempura and sushi rolls. Very attentive service and friendly staff."
"Love this place. It's a bakery with Pho and other great Vietnamese cuisine. The crawfish pie is to die for. Have to get there early because they go go go. The folks are friendly and accommodating. Yes, the baked good are fresh and sooooo good. Just don't let my doctor know. Remember to support your local busines"
