"Wow! It's been 10 years since I last reviewed this spot. And it is still a solid choice for a casual but fine dining experience.They've changed the menu a bit to have small, mid and large plates. I love love love the grilled Caesar salad so will almost always get that. And I got their scallops again and they were yummy. Unfortunately they were out of my dining companions first 2 choices on the Saturday night we were there. So she came up with a 3rd option. My old fashioned was great and then I had a lovely glass of bubbles to cut the richness of my super chocolate dessert.Service was great as always and now you have choices between dining inside or out on the patio which has greatly increased seating and you can make a reservation online. Definitely still a great spot for a lovely dinner."

The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered crawfish because I didn't want any butter or anything on them. And I got what I asked for - plain boiled crawfish. The grilled beef dinner is good. The shrimp po-boy is light. The corn and crab soup is good and the coconut shrimp is awesome. Bring your appetite because you get a lot, especially with the shrimp, but not so much on the po-boy."

We ordered the large cheeseburger with everything and a philly cheese steak poboy. OMG it's one of the best we've had of each. The poboy was a little greasy but the taste made up for it. And it just so happens that the Bonafried food truck was parked right outside of my job! Truthfully, I wanted to try Bonafried's entire menu. (I'm still committed to this, actually) Their sandwiches sounded just that good. Simple ingredients while the chicken is packed with flavor! I went with The Southern: pickles and honey topped the massive piece of boneless chicken thighs between two super soft buns. I immediately fell in love. The crispiness of the chicken, sweetness of the honey and tangy taste of pickle all combined so well on this sandwich! Service was also pretty speedy and it was lunchtime in the CBD so I was impressed.Needless to say, I'm a total Bonafried fangirl and I can't want to cheat on my diet with them again!"

"Cozy little breakfast corner, you order at the counter when you walk in, menu is strewn by the door or available on the podium order counter or outside on the wall.We placed our order and seated ourselves in the back where the seatings are (limited seating possibly about 20 seats available) When the food is ready they will call your name by counter, come pick up your food and enjoy. I had the BLT P.C. (Pimento Cheese) on sourdough (There's a variety of bread options) and it came with a side of potato chips. Tap cold water is available by the side counter along with napkins and plastic utensils. The sandwich was delicious and fresh, everyone else got the breakfast sandwich. Once you're done eating take your plastic baskets and empty it into the trash and place the baskets on the side, it seems like they also serve lunch and dinner as well. "My mom and I stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch! Cafe Americain has always been a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. It's tucked away on Jefferson in a small shopping center. We ordered some of the best crab and broccoli soup you'll ever have along with an order of sweet potato hush puppies. OMG. It's the best comfort food on a cold or warm day. Definitely try them out and they have specials throughout the week!"

It's located in a small, rundown looking building off Highway 1; if it wasn't for GPS, you'd easily miss it. The interior is beautiful though. Smells amazing (not sure if that was the candles for sale or the food). Very classy feel to it as soon as you walk in though. I decided to order the almond encrusted duck (appetizer) to go per a yelpers mouth-watering pic of it, and I'm so glad I did! It was scrumptious! The wait once I ordered was almost 30 minutes, so I definitely advise to call and order ahead. 10 people seating and 1 to go order that came before me. I was surprised to see a customer bring his pup in, but I guess I should have known based on all the pup pics on the walls here! Just wish it was closer to BR as I don't come this way very often!"
