"Chef Schonberg is phenomenal!! She is a class act! From the time you order to the time you pick-up or get your desserts delivered, it's professionalism all the way. I placed my order online and she got back to me with the total and I paid her via Venmo. My pick-up window was between 9:00-10:00am on a Saturday and she had it ready immediately for me. I ordered her cupcakes: strawberry lemonade, Oreo and chocolate raspberry. I also ordered chocolate-dipped items: pretzels and rice crispy treats. Everything was not only perfectly made aesthetically, but they were so scrumptious. I made sure to try a bit of all the desserts I ordered. Next time, I want to order her strawberry cake because I've seen it in photographs so many times, but I've never had a chance to order it for myself. She does make desserts with adults in mind, so please check out some of her boozy creations =) Order them for a bridal shower or bachelorette party... people will go crazy over them! "It pains me to knock off a star for a bakery that is obviously well liked. This is a new, second location (first is in Hammond) & their reviews for that location are very high. Batter is doing something right! My mom, husband, and I just did not enjoy any of the 4 cookies we chose. I'm not going to elaborate because I hope it's just a matter of preference. The price for the size of the cookies is very good though. I also felt like the coffees were half full & for $6.50, they shouldn't be. We did enjoy the pop-tart, cinnamon roll, and cupcakes. I would like to try the brownies, petit fours, and cake slices eventually. The store is really cute, clean, and quaint, and, as a dog lover, I appreciated them allowing someone to bring in her dog for a to-go coffee. We drove in from 30 minutes away just to try Batter on our day off, so I think 4/5 stars is fair for the parts of our experience that we did enjoy. I'm just sad about the cookies."

We tried 3 of the six: caramel; strawberry; and banana pudding. Of those three the banana pudding was the best. I liked the strawberry for the cake texture. The caramel was entirely too sweet and the cake itself wasn't good.We are flying back to California with a chocolate banana and pecan praline cupcake in my carry on. Lol"

"Stopped into Nolita for a quick pastry and coffee on a Sunday morning. It's definitely a bakery, not a coffee shop as they only have basic coffee with cream/milk and simple syrup. No espresso or flavors, but that's fine. All of the pastries looked delish: After asking for a suggestion from the owner who was behind the counter, I decided to go with the cheesecake danish. The dough was soft and flaky. The cheesecake filling was thick, but not too sweet. Very solid pastry. There's a really cute patio with tables and chairs on the side of the building and there's seating inside. Overall, a very cute neighborhood bakery. Perfect stop on a morning walk or cheery location to bring in your laptop and get some work done.
