"enjoyed the hamburger and the shrimp basket, reasonably priced. I recommend would stop in again!"
"I had a couple of hours to burn before a meeting just after flying into BTR. I was looking for some comfort food, and a nice quiet place to complete some work. The owner had a very active presence in the dining room. He made sure I had all of the condiments that I needed upon serving my order to the table. My shrimp and grits really hit the spot, and it was excellent meal for a great price! More than anything Cork's just has that good ol' southern hospitality that many restaurants have seemed to forgotten about! I will definitely be back on my next visit to BR! Please and Thank You!"

"Incredible food and friendly service. Called 5 min before closing time and they were kind enough to take an order as we were just staying at the microtel across the street. We just had dinner at Crawfish Town USA and I overheard a lady there complaining about how bland the crawfish were. We aren't locals so we aren't connoisseurs by any measure, but we took that comment to heart when heading home. Saw this joint right outside the hotel and it matched the name of a chain I wanted to head to in Abbeville. Took a chance and got another 3 lbs after just polishing off two at CTUSA. Blown away at how sweet the crawfish are here and how much more complex the seasoning is (lots of garlic). We then realized what the other lady was talking about. This place blows CTUSA out of the water. $16.99 for 3 lbs. comes with boiled potato and corn too! (Not like CTUSA that charges $2 for corn and $3 or $4 for 4 pieces of boiled mushrooms cooked in plain water instead of like this place that cooks them in the seasoned water with the crawfish). Definitely happy with this place."
"Hot, juicy and fast. Be careful super hot because it's fresh and delicious. If I'm ever here again, I'm eating there. Now the people next to us that bought a daiquiri, both day it's on the weak side."
"Me and bae came to Rays for lunch today I had lunch special which was the fish only $12.50 bae had the 1/2 chicken which was seasoned so good customer service was good if you uptown area stop in n give them a try!"
"You may have driven past this place a hundred times, I know I have. There isn't even a sign. What? No sign...Yep! There's no sign. When it was being built I thought, why build a gas station across from a gas station? Tucked in what appears to the naked eye as a simple gas station/convenience store is Donuts & Deli. It's no secret I'm from California as I reminiscence often of cool balmy beach weather as I swelter in the humid heat of Southern Louisiana.Louisianians love their snowballs, but we Californians LOVE us some donuts. We have as many donut joints as you have snowball stands, maybe even more. After hearing about this place ( from darling Alexis), I was eager to get my hands on some donuts. They serve a selection of classic donuts, glazed, chocolate, Bavarian cream, jelly filled and sprinkles. But then.......a wide grin as big a the Cheshire Cat creeped across my face as I eye spied a cinnamon roll as big as my head. The little Alice in Wonderland within me jumped for joy as I drooled over the various donut holes and miniature apple fritters, perfect for any mad hatter tea party. We order the giant cinnamon roll, chocolate covered donuts and jelly filled holes, all delicious!I thought I'd try their original potato, filled with the yumminess of bacon bits, cheese, butter, sour cream and green onions for a whopping $3.29 ....their menu includes sandwiches, burgers and smoked meat lunch plates....it's was obvious that some knew about this place as a dozen or so worker guys were chowing down at tables located inside.....And I was assured that the sign is coming soon.......What I discovered, even though my name isn't Alice nor did I follow a white rabbit down a hole....is that I won't have to travel far to grab delicious donuts or a bite for lunch.......Donuts & Deli gets the California stamp of approval, I'm a fan!"
"Can't believe we've been in Lafayette so long and not tried Riverside Inn. The location was great, and felt like we were going back in time but in a good way. The customer service was excellent, and was warmly greeted. We were able to receive our drinks quickly, (The Chardonnay was great). We were treated to a warm bread basket before we ordered our appetizer, the bread was fresh, warm and the perfect flavor, meaning the balance between sweet and savory, nothing was dominating. Our appetizer the crab cakes, let me repeat crab cake, was delicious, top three best ever, as we've never had it like this, crusted and fried however the filling, so light and airy filled with crab, just amazing. The Gumbo was delicious also, and had the depth of flavor that was a delight. The main course, I had the Ribeye that was cooked to perfection, and nice flavor from the fat, along with the baked sweet potato very nice. The grilled shrimp enhanced the taste. The shrimp pasta was amazing, and flavored with perfection. I also liked the cozy feeling inside which was intimate. Will definitely recommend."
"My father and I have stop here many of times and the food is always amazing. Henry's is one of the best spots to get some real Cajun food."
"Loved the hospitality during the meal here! I would come back here for breakfast again. Shrimp and grits: 10/10 the grits were made to perfection, the cheese added a nice flavor to it, and pairing it with the salty shrimp was amazing. Granted it was my first time trying grits and it was not disappointing. It was a hearty breakfastGumbo: 10/10 my favorite gumbo out of all the places I've tried during my trip at nola. It was packed with so much flavor and comforting"
"This was the second Thanksgiving dinner we've had here. We went back here because we remembered the previous one being so good. However this past Thanksgiving the menu was different and the traditional Thanksgiving dinner was not even on the menu. The server quickly recited it but it all sounded like an afterthought. Maybe next time at least have it printed up. So neither of us got the turkey. I had the short ribs and I have to say they were delicious. The only weird thing was the server went into great detail about their homemade crostinis when we were considering the fish dip with crostinis as an appetizer. So we ordered it and the dish came out with obviously normal tortilla chips instead. We called the server over and asked about the crostinis he told us about and he said oh- they were out. This seems like a small thing but instead of just bringing the dish out and not saying a word, he should have come back to our table and asked if we still wanted the dip. So, even though the food we had was good- those mis-steps made it less than and we definitely will not be back."
"If you are looking for a taste of authentic Louisiana Cajun cooking, steeped in tradition and soaked in flavor you have found it. Boudin pork deep fried balls are a mixture of pork meats, spices, pepper jack and some filler. The deep fried chicken cracklings are a treat for your senses that came out fresh and hot and a little salty but I didn't mind. They offer a variety of cajun specialty meats from wild game to traditional Cajun favorites here. Even alligator sausage. Their meats are Louisiana Certified and infused with unique spices and rubs, helping to deliver an unparalleled culinary experience like none other. They have a walk in and purchase section that has coolers of frozen food options, a hot and ready counter to grab and go (that we enjoyed) and they also offer a sit down and eat space as well. Hands down a great spot. Establishment was tucked back in a strip type of business complex. Inbetween a sports apparel store and a notary. We came in with the truck and found parking was tight on the gravel lot but we made it work. So happy we found this spot and because we were staying local for a moment we frequented it often."
"It's been quite a while since we ate here. I think last Fall. I didn't write a review about it because, in all honesty, it wasn't that memorable. I got the bistake and it was ok, Waaay too tough, but the flavor was ok. The pickled red onions were fantastic. But nothing stands out about this place at all. It would make a great spy because you could look at it 10 times and not really notice much about it. The Girly doesn't even remember what she had, it was just that...meh. So while I don't hate this place, I don't see a reason to visit again."

The Big Haul (says its feeds 4-5) easily fed our group of 7 with delicious crispy fish, shrimp, fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, and honey butter rolls. No complaints about any of the food, and the staff was all very polite and accommodating. Huge bonus points for the manager (guy with the big beard) who brought us out an order of beignet bites as we finished up our meal. They were nice and light, not too dense), and hit the spot for all of us... especially our kids! We'll be back!

Thar fried chicken in the South is NO JOKE!! I was LITERALLY thinking about their fried chicken for daaaays! I would make a trip back to NOLA just for this (and the beignets IYKYK). It was such a good experience, the atmosphere of Bourbon, the live jazz music, just walking down the street elbow deep in the to-go box just living my best life! not one care in the world. Absolutely recommend! The chicken didn't last long enough for a picture (oops) .Go get you some Willie's Chicken!

I really love the owners and the people that chill in here. No attitudes or feeling unwelcome even though everyone obviously knew each other there. Fun place to have a couple drinks, I'm definitely going back and getting a pizza!!!

Poor Boy's Riverside Inn holds a special place in Acadiana's rich culinary history as the oldest restaurant in the parish. Despite having seen the restaurant's name many times, I had never dined there before. When searching for the perfect venue to celebrate my grandmother's 102nd birthday, I reached out to the Foodies of Lafayette Facebook group for recommendations. One of the owners, Lori, personally extended an invitation, and after seamless email communication, I secured a reservation for nine on February 15th at 6:30 p.m.The restaurant is nestled off a few back roads, which made navigation slightly challenging in the dark. However, upon arrival, we were charmed by its quaint and welcoming exterior. Situated near the water, the string lights and outdoor seating area created a warm and inviting atmosphere. A sign proudly highlighted the restaurant's legacy as the oldest in the parish, setting the stage for a dining experience steeped in tradition.Upon entering, we stepped into a separate bar area before reaching the main dining room. The hostess was friendly and acknowledged our reservation immediately. Given that we were celebrating a special milestone, we had balloons and plenty of attention, which made my grandmother's evening even more memorable. The restaurant's patrons and staff exuded warmth and hospitality, making us feel truly welcomed. Our server, Spence, was exceptional. He effortlessly managed our large party, providing attentive and personable service throughout the evening. To begin, we ordered a round of drinks, all reasonably priced, and I highly recommend their French 75, which was expertly crafted. For appetizers, we enjoyed fried and grilled crab claws, stuffed mushrooms both fried and grilled, and catfish bites. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant's award-winning gumbo lived up to its reputation--my grandmother and 92-year-old aunt, both gumbo connoisseurs, thoroughly enjoyed it.For entrées, our table ordered a variety of dishes, including the shrimp dinner and the redfish extravaganza. I had the opportunity to sample several dishes and found the flavors well-balanced and satisfying. While the portion sizes were not oversized, they were appropriately portioned for individual servings. The highlight for me was the au gratin served with the shrimp dinner, which was absolutely fantastic. The freshly baked dinner rolls served at the beginning of the meal were so good that we requested a second helping. From the warm hospitality to the quality of the food, our experience at Poor Boy's Riverside Inn was outstanding. The restaurant provided the perfect setting for a memorable family celebration, and we are so grateful to have chosen this Acadiana gem for such a special occasion.

"Overall, really good. The gumbo was fantastic. The Jambalya was not dry. I really enjoy the layout and the setting. It feels cozy. The staff has been really super each time we've visited. My only minor issue is the potato salad. It's way too sweet. Like sugary sweet, and not from sweet pickles in potato salad. We'll keep going back. Really like this place."
"The Streetcar Cafe is an excellent "hole in the wall" restaurant off the beaten path. On the South side of Canal, it was an easy walk from a few area hotels. The Gumbo was one of the best gumbos I've ever had. It was thick and rich like a Kardashian. It was packed with flavor and a few drops of Crystal hot sauce made it sing! Why is Crystal only good on Cajun/Creole food? The biscuit had a consistency somewhere between a regular biscuit and soft bread, which I thought was amazing. I wanted to go back for Biscuits and Gravy but ended up trying that somewhere else. The biscuit and Gumbo was great, though (even at 7p).The Jambalaya was good too. Lots of rice and not soupy. And the Fried Oysters were amazing and didn't break the bank like some places. Yes, they were a little pricey, but the batter was crispy and fresh tasting. I bet they'd be killer on an oyster po'boy. I'd totally go back if I was in the area, even if was just for some gumbo and a biscuit!"
"I had the honor of picking Cafe Dauphine for my Birthday Lunch. It was one of the last black owned restaurants in the city that I had to try. I was truly amazed by this place. The service and the food were exceptional! The location is tucked away in a neighborhood in the Lower Ninth ward, which I find very cool. Peaceful and quiet area. Upon entering Cafe Dauphine, you are greeted with welcoming smiles! The waitress was wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. She helped everyone in our party make decisions on our meal! Now to the food... Most people at my table started with a crab and crawfish bisque.... Listen.... it was truly a meal within itself, I could have ordered 5. The flavor was phenomenal and it had all the seafood in it! Not just one little thing but enough to make it super filling! I truly enjoyed it. For my lunch, I went with a Fish and Shrimp plate. The seafood was fried to perfection and with just the right spices to give it a kick! Along with it, I had the loaded mash potatoes, which was truly loaded and almost a meal it self! I really enjoyed the food and vibe here. This is a great place for group outings.Wonderful Lunch PlacePlace for seafood lovers*FYI No alcoholStreet parking is available, but you definitely shouldn't have any issues finding parking in the area."
"Crawdads are what these low bottom feeders are called in NOLA. Miniscule crustaceans that live in the murky waters of Louisiana. During spring time, these mini lobsters population grow by ten folds so their size can get as large as a your palm. To believe that these guys spend most of their lives in swamps is quite fascinating. You don't get much meat out of them, but the indulging experience is what many of us are seeking for! I was referred to this place by one of my family member since she used to live in Louisiana. Plus they were the only restaurant selling fresh crawfish during the off peak season. (Went in September of 22'). We drove here and it was situated in a quaint plaza. The shop is between two establishment so it's easily miss if you're not familiar with the area. Thank heaven for gps! This was the second time we had came back here since they told us that they will be receiving fresh crawdads in the next few days. We wanted to try authentic crawfish since it was our first time in the states so we called in and placed an order to pick up. They have different options you can select and order by the pound from. You can order po boys sandwices, cajun boiled shrimp, blue crabs, andouilee sausages, turkey necks, corn and potatoes. The first time we were there, we got blue crabs, shrimp and oyster and alligator po boys. The blue crabs and shrimp were plump and sweet. Everything tasted fresh. The po boys were ok. Nothing special but tasty none the less. It was like eating a subway sandwich but with the Cajun flavored proteins. But the best thing from this place is their home made garlic butter, crack sauce. I've been to many cajun/creole restaurants in Southern California and sampled a variety of garlic sauce, but this one here takes it home. Their interpretation of cajun garlic sauce is phenomenal because you taste the true essence of creole cuisine; without all the heavy spices from most of the places I've been to. It's well balance because it's sweet, savory, buttery, and just enough of that addicting spice to make you keep on coming back for more! It's a perfect dipping sauce for seafood and more. Hand down the BEST GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE I've ever tasted. But don't take my word for it. Come try it the next time you're here! Great customer service and the seafood is as fresh as you can taste them. Go out and support your local business!"
"This was our first stop after arriving in NOLA, our first taste of southern fried chicken and gumbo! Its a dive bar, so you gotta be of age to get in to eat and drink. The fried chicken came out piping hot. First bite in, it was juicy, crispy and crunchy. Since I was so hungry, it tasted amazing in my mouth!! But after trying fried chicken at a different establishment in NOLA, I had to downgrade this chicken by a notch. All good still and still worth coming in for a yummy bite. The place was mega old and just had a lot of history clinging in the air. And the service was great!"
"Wow! Came here for a work dinner last night. Although I heard greats reviews from locals that have visited, I still kept my expectations very low. When we arrived around dinner time, the place was packed. Thankfully we were seated quick. Our server was super friendly and took care of us our whole visit. I got the combo and I ate a coupleOf crawfish from my coworker....Man O Man the flavors were out of this world!! I got garlic butter for dipping and even tried plain butter. The food definitely didn't need either! I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner T Darrell's and hope to go back next time im in town!!"
"We had a wait for food but it was made fresh and hot. Very good food enough to share . I had shrimp Poorboy and my brothers had the club sandwich both was delicious and more than we can eat. Brooklyn was our server she was friendly and cute."
"Best staff ever! We got here thinking we had time to eat lunch and then go to our swamp tour at 2:00 that was about 20 min. away but we kind of miscalculated. When we explained our plight to the waitress who greeted us she told us exactly how long everything on the menu would take to cook and then they rushed to get our food packed up to eat to go! The food itself was so good! Like outstanding. Recommend the po-boys - and allowing yourself more time than we did."
"Stopped here on the way to New Orleans, craving some fried Cajun food and this place absolutely delivered! My household is full of seafood and Cajun food lovers, so we were in heaven from the start. We started off with a dozen chargrilled oysters and every single one was packed with flavor. For the main course, my boyfriend and I shared the seafood platter which was a feast in itself. It came with fried shrimp, fried catfish, fried oysters, fried crawfish tails, fries, and hush puppies. The fried catfish was the star for me-crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside, with perfectly seasoned breading. While everything on the platter was delicious the hush puppies stole the show. I'm not even sure what goes into making a hush puppy to be honest but what I do know is that the ones here were the best I've ever had.Service was decent and fast too. Even with a party of nine, we were in and out in just an hour and a half and back on the road.If you're ever passing through, I highly recommend stopping by this spot."
"Service is very slow but the burgers, fries and onion rings were so delicious that it made up for the long wait (~1.5 hours after we ordered)."
"Eat here. Spectacular mom & pop restaurant at the edge of Louisiana coast. Roast Beef Poboy - excellent Seafood platter - very good - a tad over-cooked but the seasoning was perfect. Seafood stuffed potato - Shrimp were perfect. Staff was amazing"
"this place is nice. The scenery is awesome. The food is great when I got there they just got a bus load so it was really busy, but I still got my food in a decent time I had seafood heaven pasta also got a cup of gumbo and I did get the pecan pie and ice cream, which I do highly recommend"
"Great Cajun chicken tenders with a tangy BBQ sauce! Their honey biscuits are good fresh but they are hit or miss depending on when they were made. Great staff- friendly and honest. We were regulars while visiting."
"Fantastic food and excellent customer service. I'm so grateful that I found this place!! I had the Bayou Scampi and Bread Pudding for dessert. Both phenomenal. Look forward to coming back next time I'm in New Orleans!"
"I went for happy hour and had a delicious dirty martini and frites/mussels for under $20. So good."
"I have picked up dinner twice while working in the area. Both times I ordered the maple bourbon cornbread! And this last time I also ordered the Parisian gnocchi with crawfish it was amazing and didn't want to stop eating it reservations always recommended sign on door...it's true...they were busy!"
"since moving I have been to this place at least three times in a month. It's my go- to place so far. The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered crawfish because I didn't want any butter or anything on them. And I got what I asked for - plain boiled crawfish. The grilled beef dinner is good. The shrimp po-boy is light. The corn and crab soup is good and the coconut shrimp is awesome. Bring your appetite because you get a lot, especially with the shrimp, but not so much on the po-boy."
"Great service with a smile, solid red beans, and yummy blackened fish. Left full and happy! Thanks!"
"Very friendly staff, nice comfortable environment. Clean and orderly. Food was great. We ordered Fried onion rings as app. They were the best!! Am the baked beans were amazing!!!"
"Love Pecks. Food is always delicious. We ate there several times a month. Great ambiance and staff. Highly recommend."
"Food: 4.5Service: 5Cleanliness: 5Ambiance: 4.5Had dinner at Luke on St. Charles Ave., and let me just say -- everything we ordered was incredibly tasty! This spot definitely delivers on flavor. The Brussels sprout appetizer was the star of the show for me. Crispy, a little sweet, a little spicy, and topped with salty feta -- just chef's kiss. I could have easily eaten a whole plate of them by myself. We also tried the pork belly with kimchi and grits, which had amazing flavors, but I wished the pork belly was a bit more tender. Still, the combo of rich, and creamy was spot on.For my main, I went with the shrimp and grits, and it came out piping hot. The shrimp were big and juicy, the grits were creamy, and the sauce was rich and packed with flavor. Just the kind of comforting dish you want in NOLA.We sat in the upper dining room, which had a cool view of the kitchen's "fishbowl" setup, so we got to watch the team in action while they prepped our meal.Overall, highly recommend Luke for a flavorful, well-executed meal in New Orleans. Definitely a spot I'd revisit!"
"My husband and I are frequently going here. The staff is great and follow Covid precautions always. We ordered food today and I can't tell you enough how great it was. We ordered the large cheeseburger with everything and a philly cheese steak poboy. OMG it's one of the best we've had of each. The poboy was a little greasy but the taste made up for it. We ordered prior to going and was ready when my husband arrived. I encourage y'all to try the food. Oh, I heard their breakfast is also great and a great price.Sorry it was eaten on, lol. Couldn't help it."
"Crawfish etouffee is a dish I rarely order in restaurants since I have a family recipe that's hard to beat. Don't believe me? Ask anyone who has ever tried mine. This changed on a recent visit to Dwight's. I was prepared to order something else but just looking at their etouffee, I knew I had to try it. I'm so glad I did. First, the portion is huge (see photo) AND it comes with two sides. I don't know exactly how they are making their etouffee here but it is just amazing. It's seasoned perfectly and full of crawfish. I didn't have to add hot sauce to the dish, and normally I do to spice it up. So happy to have found a place that's not afraid to use spices liberally! As for the sides, I got smothered cabbage which was a little too sweet for my liking and green beans which were cooked down and buttery. They also gave me a jalapeño corn bread biscuit which was delicious.Dwight's is the kind of place that has tables with holes in the middle for easy disposal of crawfish/shrimp/crab shells. Look out crawfish season! I'm coming back for you!"
