"I honestly can't review this place for the food but I can for their human kindness and for that I give 5 stars. We decided to help someone less fortunate than us by buying them a meal and when the gentleman in my photo seen us giving them food, he came over across the street and gave some hot coffee to them, since it was a little chilly that night. I know it may sound like "only coffee", but to some I'm sure it's a big deal at that moment in life."

"Saturday nights are packed because Chimes are good at providing A1 service, but they check you in quickly to get you in the queue. Our table was ready in 30 minutes, and our server immediately took our the order. The ambiance is always live, with multiple TVs, great music in the background, the smell of chargrilled oysters, and the variety of seating that makes everyone feel welcome. We sat outside in the patio area, but the heaters didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, as always, and they never missed a beat. I also love how the staff look out for each other; they work hand in hand."

The drinks are self-serving and they offer an array of sauces. The fries are always fresh and the milkshakes come highly recommended. The dining area is a decent size but the parking lot is on the smaller size. There's kiosks and cashiers to assist with ordering. All in all a damn good burger spot!"

"How much do I like Dot's Diner?When I visit New Orleans, I'm often a guest of Harrah's Casino, who provide me with transportation between their property and the airport in Kenner. More than once, on my way out of town, I've paid my driver a substantial tip to stop at Dot's on Williams Blvd. before we reached MSY, so I could enjoy an unplanned one-more-last-good-meal.Eggs, pancakes, breakfast meats and good coffee are obvious choices, but Dot's does more: their kitchen, which I suspect it haunted by someone's cher tante, turns out home-style Southeastern Louisiana fare that stands with the best such dishes served in da Parish.Is Dot's in Kenner convenient? Not unless you're already in the area. Is it fast? Depends on the day, and time of day. But Dot's food is very good, and it's inexpensive, even when you add in the monster tip required to convince your driver to abandon his schedule. There's value in those things."

"Arrived around 1:00 pm for a quick lunch before hopping on the Amtrak to Chicago. I was greeted and seated quickly. The menu was as expected with all the things you want for a quick lunch like the usual suspects of starters, think boudin and loaded fries, salads, lots of hamburger options including a veggie burger, fried shrimp and chicken tender plates. I had the fried shrimp plate and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and amount of shrimp for the price. Service was friendly if a bit slow to check back. The shrimp were a nice size, fresh and well fried as were the fries and at 11.99 a steal for a good lunch. The iced tea was also fresh and well made. All in all if you're around downtown Hammond just hanging out or waiting for a train definitely check out Our Mom's, there is also a bar and the bar menu certainly looked worth checking out as well."

The star of the show is the grill master, he does know how a burger. It was tasty, if a little dry, but that was my fault, because 9/10 times at bars, if they ask me how I want my burger, and I tell them medium, and it comes out Chef Ramsey Rawr, so I ask for medium well, and it's perfect, a bit of pink in the center. His was medium well, white center, like I asked. I'll ask for what I like with confidence next time. Nice space, nice backyard patio."

Wasn't to crowded inside and the plexiglass around each booth, along with sanitizer and signs to wear a mask were great covid touches. "I took a gamble on Goodwood Grill for delivery awhile back and I've enjoyed it so much that I've been going back since. I've always known this place was loved by locals but after trying the food, I completely understand why. It's not fancy food by any stretch, but the kind of comfort food that Baton Rouge faithful has been supporting for years. And just how much support? This place is hoppin' at lunch time, almost daily. It's even more crowded on the weekends and it gets a bit claustrophobic in here quickly. There are a handful of tables for 4 in the main dining room, with a smaller room in the back to handle the additional crowds. The format is simple enough: order at the counter and get seated. If the latter doesn't happen by a certain time, it may not happen at all. Hence, delivery / takeout for me all the way (#1).The food doesn't look like much, like an average spruced up diner version of sandwiches, burgers, and fried food. But looks only go so far, the taste was good enough to get me wanting more. Overall, everything was very tasty and I can't complain. The portions are southern hearty and the prices are pretty good, especially during their popular lunch specials. The burger was juicy and cooked just right, the fried catfish was well seasoned, and the gumbo was outstanding.And of course, the service has always been excellent. They know how to cut the wait time down and are able to handle phone / online orders with ease. The price is higher than the other fast food chains around because the quality is THAT much better. FOOD: I had a #11 Grilled Chicken Sandwich fully dressed and enjoyed it. It wasn't anything spectacular, but the execution was every bit as good as Chik-Fil-A, and I didn't have to wait 30 minutes to place my order. The only thing I would do differently is add extra pickles.My wife ordered the BIG BEN and liked it. I tried it and found it too busy. All the parts were good, but I found the chili and fries with fry sauce on a double cheese burger a bit much. Having said that, I enjoyed each of the flavors in their own right and the patty was well-cooked and generously sized. I am looking forward to returning to try a regular burger.We got a Kids' Meal for our son and he enjoyed it. It's 4 nuggets, a GENEROUS serving of fries and a drink. As you can see in the pictures, the nuggets are cooked to perfection: crispy outside and moist inside. Fries were well done and stayed crispy outside even as they cooled. Onion rings were excellent. Now I have two places in the NOLA are where I can go for good onion rings.Basic Coke fountain drinks are available; the fountain and self-serve was clean and tidy. Barq's is available at the fountain AND in glass bottles. Bud, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Miller Lite, and Corona Light are also available. AMBIANCE: classic NOLA. Awesome Saints and food murals. Small, picnic-style wood tables perfect for 4 dining intimately or 2 with plenty of elbow room. Flat screen that I'm certain will have Saints games in season. CLEAN. That really stood out as we ate over an hour and staff bussed and cleaned, keeping the entire space clean and tidy. CLIENTELE: we dined in on a Saturday early afternoon and we saw people dressed in business formal, an auto mechanic, other families with young children, older couples, and retirees sporting LSU and hunting/fishing attire. It was a nice slice of Metairie. STAFF: obviously the cooks did a good job, but everybody was friendly, kind, and patient (I didn't communicate clearly, the order got messed up, and they made it right even though it was my fault). Can't wait to come back."
