"Wow! It's been 10 years since I last reviewed this spot. And it is still a solid choice for a casual but fine dining experience. They've changed the menu a bit to have small, mid and large plates. I love love love the grilled Caesar salad so will almost always get that. And I got their scallops again and they were yummy. Unfortunately they were out of my dining companions first 2 choices on the Saturday night we were there. So she came up with a 3rd option. My old fashioned was great and then I had a lovely glass of bubbles to cut the richness of my super chocolate dessert.Service was great as always and now you have choices between dining inside or out on the patio which has greatly increased seating and you can make a reservation online. Definitely still a great spot for a lovely dinner."
"Amazing food (brisket, chicken wings, mardigras potato and green beans) and service...staffs were so friendly - will definitely come back."

"BRQ in Baton Rouge. I think I have a crush on you. On my last night in BR, I tried this spot with a coworker, following a recommendation from our local project manager, who said the a/c was great and the food was even better. She was correct on both counts. Saylor took great care and deftly managed keeping drinks filled and the whole BRQ team brought food to our table at temperature and others in our section seemed happy, as well.We tried barbecue and seafood menu items. Very good, all around. Starting with complimentary house-made BnB pickles and BBQ chips is brilliant. Delicious amuse-bouche for all ages. We wanted the baked goat cheese (out of marinara), so substituted spinach-artichoke. Great fun that the kitchen was willing to swap in vegetables for tortilla chips. (Nice to have an option that doesn't derail the healthier eaters at the table.)BBQ is fantastic. I didn't take a photo of the house-made andouille or their 4 (four!) different bbq sauces.Trust me and treat yourself to andouille a la carte or alongside whatever else you will try. The brisket nachos with house made cheese sauce were dynamite. The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. I'm a Mac n cheese snob, but Saylor said BRQs was good. (Claim: verified!) Maquechoux was delicious. Wasn't hungry for dessert, but had to order just to get the look on my coworker's face (who hadn't seen it delivered to the next table). The vast majority of the cake went home in 2 (two!) rotisserie chicken boxes. Massive, deliciously textured with nuts, raisins, and carrots, and not cloyingly sweet. I wish there was a plus or bonus star to give. I travel for work. A lot. I try to find locally-run places where the atmosphere is comfortable and the food is deliciously made with care. BBQ joints hold a special place in my heart. It takes most of a day to prepare it. The effort is hot, long, and under appreciated. Places that go the extra step (veggies instead of chips), make a little tasty things to welcome you (here are chips and pickles: we are glad you're here!), and prepare wonderful entrees and sides... well this is a comfortable and delicious experience. And if you are in Baton Rouge, go. If you aren't in BR, then get there and try this place."
"This is definitely the place to go if you're looking for great BBQ in New Orleans. It is right by the arena and stadium. There is lots of seating inside and outside and TVs had football on. I had the two meat plate- pulled pork and beef brisket along with potato salad and jambalaya as sides. The meat is gluten free before sauce is added. It was so delicious and you get a lot of food. I was stuffed and couldn't finish it all. The staff was great and service was quick!"
"My Big Ben burger was the best burger I've had in a long time. The onion tangles on top were amazing. The balsamic mayo was a miss but ask for garlic Mayo instead. I love that asparagus is an option for sides because I have to watch carbs and fries aren't my friend. My partner had triple tail tacos and they were also very good. Our server was great! I didn't catch her name but the receipt says Bree.I'll definitely eat here again. My only complaint is the noise level in the restaurant."
"Dining in was definitely a better experience! We got there right before they opened on a Saturday, so no crowds. I got the brisket chili with a side of cornbread as my meal. The chili was packed with meat, and the cornbread was a whole mini-loaf that came with what I think was honey butter; delicious. My mother enjoyed her burger, and my father said his brisket was both delicious and lean, in case you're one who hates fatty brisket. There are multiple outdoor tables under a good-sized awning, so there should be reliable shade for those wanting to eat outside."
"Food is excellent! Service was so friendly and fast. Salads are amazing. Fried Shrimp were delicious. Crab cake stack is very good"
"Wonderful food, service, and BBQ sauces! The potato brought me back to my childhood. We came in from out of town, but this is work an hour drive for lunch!"
"Salty Joes always has a nice atmosphere a solid food. This time, we had Noah as our server and he was super attentive. He helped us pick an appetizer and wing flavors. We got the appetizer sampler so we could try a little bit of everything. Husband got some huge plate and I got the build your own bowl with loaded potato, pork belly, and sunny side up egg on top. Overall great service and great food!"
"Must try the flame broiled oysters. Also the Cajun dungeons crab legs. You can also get breakfast anytime day or night."
"From the moment I stepped into Sticks Barbecue off of Highway 59, I was greeted by an atmosphere that felt like home. The ambience is warm and friendly, making it the perfect spot for both family dinners and casual meet-ups with friends. The owner is the epitome of Southern hospitality. Their kindness and attention to detail did not go unnoticed, contributing to the welcoming feel of the place. Now, let's talk about the food - it was nothing short of delicious. The burnt end pieces I ordered were a standout, boasting a perfect balance of smoky flavor and tenderness that melted in my mouth. It's clear that they know their way around a grill, and these burnt ends are a testament to their expertise. In summary, Sticks Barbecue is a must-visit for anyone in the Mandeville area. With its delightful food, inviting atmosphere, and kind-hearted owner, it's a place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even left."
"Heard about this best-kept secret on social media, and finally had an opportunity to check in. It's in the same shop as a gas station. It's small on the inside, but it's bright, clean and airy. Service was good. The staff was friendly and hospitable. I interacted with three team members. My order was ready within a few minutes of ordering, and it was lunchtime on a Friday. Now, let me tell you about those burnt ends. When I saw a post on Instagram that read "Burnt Ends Friday," I didn't walk, I ran to try those delectable morsels of porky goodness. And they did not disappoint! They were melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with flavor. They had just the right amount of fat, and even the fat was tasty. No sauce needed. I asked for hickory and sweet heat sauces, but the hickory was too bitter and the sweet heat too spicy for my liking. I need to learn how to make these because burnt ends aren't cheap. My plate, which included 5 end pieces and two sides, was $21, and they snuck in an $0.81 surcharge for using a credit card. My sides were mac and cheese and brussels. The mac tasted homemade. I think it was made with milk. It was so good. I should've ordered a double portion because the brussels were just ok. The sprouts needed more loving, like some bacon and honey to elevate the flavor. Also, they were limp. I like my brussels roasted like they've been through something. Lastly, the white bread was fine. I don't think it was Bunny brand, however. Lastly, they use quality plastic utensils. They're big and sturdy. None of that flimsy, bendy foolishness. The food actually fits and doesn't fall off."

You know you are going to have a meal worth writing about the moment you take your first bite. That is exactly how I feel about my dining experience at Boucherie. First, I was so happy to have been able to snag a table on a Saturday night pre-mother's day. The restaurant is in what might have been a home in the past. Very unassuming but once you're there, you will immediately know what the fuss is all about. I wanted a place a little farther from the busy scene so I chose Boucherie for that reason. We arrived, informed the host of our reservations and we were seated immediately on a corner table. The place was fairly quiet, had a full bar, and attentive wait staff. Our dining experience began with some smoked tuna ragoons with Louisiana strawberry dipping sauce. The smoked tuna was a little bit on the salty side but otherwise, the flavors between the sauce and the ragoons worked. For my main dish, I ordered the scallops which were divine! Very flavorful, prepared perfectly and the sauce was magnificent. I could have probably polished off another serving of it (on a different night, of course!). My meal was lovely and exquisite. My dining companion enjoyed some cocktails while I sipped on some wines for the evening. Overall, I had a wonderful and unforgettable dining experience.

We stopped by for lunch and left thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles that immediately set the tone for a welcoming experience. Our server was phenomenal--despite it being her last day, she brought so much energy and enthusiasm to our table. Her positive attitude and attentiveness made our visit even more enjoyable. **The Food:** We ordered the crab cakes, Brussels sprouts, and fried okra, and every bite was a treat! Each dish was perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The complementary pickles and chips were a thoughtful touch and added to the overall experience. **The Atmosphere:** The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautiful artwork adorning the walls that added a touch of charm. The restaurant was spotless, which we really appreciated. Overall, this was an outstanding dining experience. The combination of great service, delicious food, and a warm ambiance ensures we'll be back the next time we're in town!

Central City BBQ is freaking amazing and has some awesome BBQ with pllllllllenty of seating options of indoor/outdoor. The restaurants gives the vibe of a bbq joint which is so chill. I am not a big bbq fan, however, I love some good ribs and rib tips and I must say they don't disappoint with the rib tips.I have visited this location twice now and I had great experience each time. I have gotten 3 meat combo that comes with sides which were all fabulous. Very welcoming staff/service.Be advised they also have a "happy hour" from 3pm-6pm which is kinda cool and the chicken cracklin' were effing phenomenal! The restaurant is spacious and have plenty of tv's to catch any of your favorite sports/events

So my husband and I got take out from here last night and it was amazing. Let me start by commending their customer service. We initially put in order (using their own website, not Uber Eats - better deal as those middle man companies charge more for the exact same food in addition to the service charges!), and it arrived in the early part of the expected window, which is always a pleasant surprise. We opened everything looking and smelling amazing, but sadly our brisket order was under-weighed. I called immediately and they realized the mistake. They were so apologetic, quick to replace the food, and went above and beyond that along with a refund-can't ask for better service and that's how you keep happy customers!Ok on to the food. It speaks for itself-I'd eat it out of a broken down shack it's so good, but the restaurant is actually super cool so will definitely be going back to enjoy a beer at the bar and on the breezy patio. Brisket was tender and fatty, ribs were fall off the bone and so flavorful, pulled pork was moist and savory, wings are literally best I've had (we liked all of them but if you don't get the Alabama white you are sorely missing out!) Their BBQ sauce is just the cherry on top for everything but you really don't need condiments when the meats are this good.Good BBQ is hard to come by in the Nola area, but these folks have it down (that's coming from a gal who grew up in TX!) Highly recommended!

In the area and was in the mood for a burger. So I yelped it and this place came up with pretty decent reviews and some not, but I decided to try anyways. First off it was a wait which wasn't bad, the service was fast and the food came out at a reasonable time. I tired the hangover burger and my burger wasn't burnt compared to some of the other reviews. The burger was actually good, it didn't taste better than any burger I personally make lol but hey it was good. The burger meat was fresh not frozen. The fries were good. I will definitely be back, I want to try the shrimp tacos and possibly the nachos.

"My favorite BBQ in Baton Rouge! We usually pick up some pulled pork or brisket from here if we are bringing food for a potluck. Their brisket grilled cheese and brisket quesadillas are what I rotate between when I go. Seating is limited, and they also have a window you can walk up to and pick up to go orders."
"So myself and wife were in this side of Metairie and had just dropped off our daughter and we found ourselves being hungry and my wife says to me "Baby you want BBQ? And I replied HECK YEA I DO lol". We both had seen Moe's a while back but, hadn't given it a chance until we went to Destin, Fl. That location was pretty good and we both wanted to see if this one was better and let me just say "Moe's BBQ in Metairie knocked it out the park". We came inside and was greeted instantly by the young lady at the register and we put in our order. My wife wanted brisket and unfortunately they were out but, they had Brisket sandwiches with 2 sides and a drink available and she got that. I came up to order and I was in the mood for some good wings and I ordered the Smoked Wings platter with 2 sides and a drink. Our sides were the Potato salad and Bakes beans and the Cabbage. Let me start off by saying that all the sides were DELICIOUS and both the Brisket sandwich and Smoked wings were both absolutely tasty and both great choices. I do recommend this place to anyone living in Metairie or passing by and we also got to meet the Chef and he was so humble and down to earth and told us about the Smoked Wings process and was very appreciative of our positive feedback. The Corn bread was delicious also btw :) Thank you again Moe's Original BBQ and y'all we be seeing us again soon and GOD BLESS"
"Big Mike's has the biggest selection of bbq I've ever experienced. All kinds of ribs, chicken, fish, burgers and ALL the trimmings from delicious selection of fries, salads, loaded potatoes etc. etc. in a large cajun style dining room with 5 big screen TV's in a wholesome family setting with a scrumptious bar in the background. Nightly activities and entertainment too! Waitresses were super fast and friendly. A fun place to hang out and enjoy smoked barbecue ."
"Wow. Just overall a great experience. Our friends and I are driving the Blues Highway and had a stop in Baton Rouge for the night. I had found this restaurant and the menu looked incredible. Von, the owner, and Miss Kat were so welcoming and gracious that we ended up staying well after we had finished eating to talk. Our group ordered po boys (fried alligator, blackened alligator, catfish and fried shrimp) and swapped out the fries for green beans, dirty rice and a to go order of Mac and cheese. The bread on the po boys was so soft and a perfect vehicle for the ingredients. The favorite was the catfish. Then the dirty rice. Oh my goodness I have never had dirty rice like this. Small pieces of beef brisket (with just the right amount of fat on it) sautéed with bell peppers, rice and seasoning. I've never had dirty rice like this before and I will most definitely be attempting this at home. The green beans were also sautéed with bell peppers and had a really nice flavor. Our friend had the Mac and cheese later in the night and said it was very good too. Dessert was a peach cobbler that my husband and I ate in about a minute. Mmmm is all I can say to sum up the food."
"This restaurant inconsistently good. Their brisket is excellent,as is the smoked chicken and pulled pork today I was unimpressed with my dinner however. I ordered their bbq spaghetti for takeout. It turned out to be a relatively small portion of Spaghetti drowned in sauce and pull pork and some chicken. The sauce overwhelmed everything on the plate I like bbq sauce to a degree but this was way too much for such a small portion of pasta I did not finish. However this restaurant is a great bbq spot an I would highly recommend it to friends and family! Ju BBQ Spaghetti their catfish poboy is surprisingly good"
"This place is rocking and rolling with steady customers and a very pleasant experience. Great tasting and we all noticed that after we left we smelled like smoke which is a good sign of a great bbq place!"
"the burnt ends and ma and cheese were the bomb, so delish! The restroom where one goes to wash up after a good bar be q was disgusting , absolutely needs total renovation!!"
"My first meal in Baton Rouge did not disappoint! My sister had raves about the BBQ rocket shrimp po boy and it dis not disappoint! The whole sandwich gave me plenty for leftovers. The Gouda mac and cheese is also not to be missed!"
"We stopped here with a party of 8 at 2pm on a Monday, after a swamp tour. The owner welcomed us warmly, and the food was very tasty. Our party had the Monday Red beans and rice with catfish special, a burger, mac n cheese, gumbo, salad, creole pasta with shrimp, and the creole baked potato with shrimp. Everything was so tasty, and the portions were very generous. My dad said the standout was the green beans that came with the Monday special, but we had no complaints about anything we ordered. Our server was very sweet and accommodating, and the food came out pretty quickly. We would highly recommend this place! Support a locally owned small business serving delicious food!"
"My husband and I wanted to try this place after seeing a lot of raving reviews on Facebook. We ordered the country fried brisket biscuit and it was amazing. The bottom of the biscuit was pretty burnt, but that didn't stop us from enjoying it (we just removed the bottom half)! I'm not a huge biscuit fanatic but this biscuit was the bomb. We also ordered the boudin burrito, which was also really good! We can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu!"
"The atmosphere is very nice. The design and architecture inside create a question in your mind that you're sitting in the Town of Maurice enjoying a great seafood meal. There is no comparison to the competition just up the road in Lafayette on Johnston Street, just past Camelia and before Brentwood. I'll only say the competition's initials are DS. Pinchers wins, hands down. The service was great, and the food was delicious. I had the Coastal Combo (fried shrimp + fish + onion rings), my guests had catfish smothered in crawfish etouffeé, and the others had the surf & turf of filet + grilled shrimp over mashed potatoes and a side of mac & cheese. Now I'm getting hungry again."
"First time trying the ayce bbq, most of the meat was pretty tasty but the side dishes are pretty bad and not too fresh. Salad was terrible. Also they are pretty stingy about the meats that you can only order twice like the galbi, they only gave out 2 small strips at a time when there's 5 of us eating. They also didn't even have ribeye steak when we paid extra for that part of the deal. I still enjoyed my meal overall just hope they can improve the side dishes. There's also a 20% tip automatically added when there's 5 or more party even though the menu is posted for 18% and they also automatically charge a service fee on top but I don't know why cause you have to go get your own sides and rice"
"Food was delicious. I found the brisket to be a little bland but everything else was great. Smothered cabbage was YUMMY, it was my favorite side. Walking distance from our condo, we will definitely be back!"
"Umm. Not what I was hoping for. Not bad. Originally was aiming for Wing Zone , closest to my house for Door Dash. Remembered hearing something about this new place on facebook and I'm all for giving someone a shot. The balls were extremely crunchy like shell crunchy. Worried about breaking my temporary. The wings are really big. The appeal to Golden Wings is that they are smol. Easy to destroy and guaranteed cooked all the way thru. These a big. To me, sometimes bigger isnt always better. The sauces. They are good. I didn't hit a super hot one but they are different and worth trying. The swamp rice also suffered from being too crunchy. Kinda worried me again about cracking teeth. I say give them a shot, maybe the small combos and skip the balls. Best of luck Supersonic!!"
"So I decided to check this food truck out at Wednesday at the square. The barbacoa tacos were truly delicious. They only offered an order of two. The taco was so flavorful. Wish it would've been three, but hey it was still delicious. I cannot wait to try them again!"
"Podnuh's Bar-B-Q is a simple, old-fashioned BBQ place that serves good food at a good price. This location has been around for much longer than I have lived in Baton Rouge, and is convenient and easy to like.Podnuh's employs a cafeteria-style serving line, where you order your meat(s) or sandwiches, serve yourself some sides, then pay and select your seating. There is ample room for you and your crew, and the interior decor tells you that your are at a BBQ place. The BBQ is as good as it smells, and there are always good side dishes to choose from. Sandwiches come in regular and large sizes, and there are a variety of lunch specials one can save some money by checking out. There is also a drive through so one can get a meal to go if one wants. I suggest going in and taking time to enjoy some smoked goodness though, but the option is available."
"A rule of thumb I like to live by is if ever there's a food truck... pullover! The food's delicious, the service was quick and friendly and if you choose to eat there their little outside set up is super cute! Perfect for a gathering of family and friends or even a cute early dinner date! Call ahead or do like I did and impulse buy too much food at the window! I regret nothing!! Also keep in mind the hours are close at 6 OR until they run out. Which is what contributed to me taking forever to try them. Can't wait to get back and try some other menu items! Maybe even this week.. #fatkidproblems"
"See I really wanted to take a photo but the way my hangry was set up, it didn't make it. There were so many fast food places I was gonna stop at first but the drive thru lines were to the road. As I was waiting to pick up my daughter from SLU, I passed this gem and realized when I took one look at the menu that it was an installment of my favorite BBQ joint in Independence. I literally thanked God for the happenstance. As always they did not disappoint. The BBQ brisket dinner was EVERYTHING. One of my girls got the Brisket baked potato and it was so good my other daughter went in to get another. We LOVE this place. Hands down some of the best barbecue this side of the Mason Dixon!"
"We arrived right at 10am on Sunday. We were just passing through Ponchatoula and looking for a bite to eat. The restaurant was clean and the staff at the counter was polite and helpful. We decided to try the cheeseburger po-boy, sweet potato fries, and 1/2 & 1/2 tea. It was ALL perfectly prepared. I will definitely visit again to try the BBQ HiHo sandwich they are known for."
"If you love bbq, you have to try Honest Abs. It's a great mom and pop, locally own and greatly cared for. Its clean and friendly. The brisket is soo tender, ribs well seasoned, sides were great. The portions are great for family/friends share and you wont leave hungry. I can't wait to come back and try more on the menu."
"Had the loaded shrimp potato (minus the onions). It was soooo good -- flavorful, fresh, and the perfect temperature. I'll be back over and over again!"
"Bbq chicken special can't be beat. Ribs were a lil dry but the sauce was great. Macaroni was different but good--tasted a lil like nacho cheese and had an interesting spice. Will be back. Worth the trip."
"Great Brisket and chicken wings. Loved them so much that we went back the following day for their Friday special Ribeye and Potato dinner. They sprinkle the potato with bits of their brisket! If you want the smoked ribeye remember that you must pre-order! You will not be disappointed!"
