This is the BEST gumbo I have had IN MY LIFE!!!!!! The fried fish was crunchy and seasoned. The chicken wing was crunchy, but just okay. I've been dreaming about this gumbo since I left NOLA a few days ago!

I wanted to see what all the hype was bout. The food was really good the five times I visited. What shocked me was the amount of people buying gumbo. The service was pretty decent except for the people in front not knowing what they wanted. The atmosphere was IYKYK. New Awlings. The price was fair because I had enough of food for dinner dat night. Dat's what I been trying to told you.

I heard so many good things about this place so I went. The customer service is awesome and they treated me very well. I ordered a few things including a cup of gumbo, shrimp pasta, chicken wings, egg rolls and a couple drinks. The gumbo was absolutely amazing. Some of the best I have ever tasted. It had a good amount of meat and was flavored extremely well. The chicken wings and the egg rolls were good. For the shrimp pasta, I think I got a bad batch because the shrimp had an off-putting taste like it was spoiling or something. But I have had multiple people tell me that they had it and it was very good. They had so many other things that I want to try so I am going back to day.

Strolling past the area, I wanted to get a quick bite to eat and did not want fast food. Although, the last time I ate here, I was not all that impressed. This time, however, proved to be different. I had the fried fish and shrimp with no sides for $11.99. The price was a little more than I expected, especially with no sides, but it was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned perfectly.. My husband had the lasagna, I had a bite of that and it was so good. It was thick, meaty, and flavorful. It put my husband to sleep. Now, that's some good eating. My food experience this time around was much better, I'll definitely be back.

I found this place simply disgusting, unclean, unkept, rude staff and not someplace I'd buy food. Yelp deleted my detailed review for "language" as the truth isn't allowed.A "serving person" there deserves a special shout out. Yelp says I can't describe 'em or how their actions towards me and other people of a darker color made me feel, but I think y'all know what I'm trying to say...

Oh my God I finally found some food in New Orleans that actually was worth it! I've been really disappointing this visit and the restaurants until I got here. The Gumbo was really good. The locals said to try it with a grilled cheese sandwich and it was surprisingly perfect together.

My family and I recently visited New Orleans for the first time. This spot was recommended by our Uber driver, Torrance. I'm so glad he did! You'll have to venture away from the downtown touristy area to get to this gem. It's located at the Broad and Banks Rd intersection. There is only on street parking so it may take a little longer to find a parking spot if you come during a busier time. When I walked in, I noticed it served as a carry out restaurant and corner store. I was pleased to see that there were mainly locals inside ordering food. That's always a good indication that the food will be amazing. I ordered the red beans and rice, gumbo, and shrimp po' boy. As far as this food goes.... On a scale of 1-10, this place is a 20. The po' boy filling, toppings, down to the French bread it was served on, was very fresh. The red beans and rice were delicious. And the gumbo had a flavor that was out of this world. It takes like no other gumbo that I've ever tasted.I'm sure I'll be back to visit NOLA again before the year is out. This will my first stop next time. Broad and Banks Seafood has set the bar really high.

Broad and Banks Seafood is my "go to" place to pick up some prepared food that's fresh and delicious. We get some of their grilled shrimp--(they have shrimp usually is several forms )without fail, fish and various entrees. Ten minutes in there and you've got a delicious meal to take home, for a really great price. Looks like it's family run, and they are "all business", efficient and very nice and polite. It isn't fancy--doesn't look like much from the outside, but I love this place--it has the stuff that you come for, and without way overspending.
