I was REALLY disappointed in my meal tonight. I read multiple reviews on Yelp and thought I was headed for a wonderful meal. Not even close...(My server was fabulous though.)I ordered the fried green tomatoes (per her suggestion) and they were really good. My entree was completely disappointing. I ordered the shrimp boil with sausage, corn and potatoes. I first tried the potatoes and was shocked to find they were cold (and I don't mean - not piping hot - I mean COLD). I put my hand on the corn and discovered it was also cold. I let my server know and she quickly replaced them with hot ones. OK. Things happen, I continue my meal. I ordered a pound of shrimp and it was so overcooked that I could barely peel it. In fact, it shredded the meat as I tried to pry off the shells. Sadly, I gave up and walked away leaving 1/2 a pound of shrimp sitting there. I'm one and done.

Best place for charbroiled oysters in Houma! Pretty good shrimp boil as well. Had some snow crab clusters as well but were a bit disappointing as they were not fresh at all.Great service and ambiance. Would definitely return.

Great meal tonight at Big Al's, the Turtle Soup is off the menu now, but the Seafood Gumbo filled in great, the Softshell Crab was great, & my first time having Softshell Shrimp, Lord willing not the last. We really enjoyed the food & the service & will definitely be back.

We were told Big Al's was the best Cajun food in Houma, particularly when it came to boiled seafood. We ordered a variety of seafood and none of it was great. The boiled shrimp was overcooked and mushy. The crab soup was more New England than Cajun. The fried seafood combo was under seasoned (unforgivable at a Cajun restaurant!) and none of the shrimp were properly cleaned. The prices were high and the service was functional but that's it. When we come back to Houma (and we will come back!) this restaurant won't be on our list of places to revisit.

Solid spot for some down home seafood and LA cuisine.....I had a BBQ beef poboy, while my date had the shrimp salad.....couple of beers...frozen glass....less than $50....w an order of gumbo and onion rings ...rock solid Atmosphere is pleasant, and the bathroom (mens), was squeaky clean

Definitely would recommend this place to anywhere in the area. Got boiled shrimp and crawfish and although prices are high right now it was still very yummy. Service was good and the environment was very fun and lively. Will definitely be back again.

The fried shrimp was delicious and the sauces very good. Unfortunately the fries were cold and limp even before I was able to get them back to the hotel a few minutes away. I wish now I had eaten in because the ambience was outstanding, the smells were delicious and the customers looked fun and inviting. The young lady who took care of my take out order was extremely nice and was quick to get me on my way.I will be back but will eat in next time.
