Dang. Week one and they have the groove. We had pork cheeks with a parmesan polenta. Frankly, there is not a menu in the area that this closely resembles "New Orleans." French, seafood...and a deep nod to the Italian community. That is what the city encompasses in a big way. The ambiance is great and Jamie is a real genius at what she does. The bar area has a television for sports games, if that's your thing.

Intimate, charming setting for our last dinner in NOLA. Terrific food, awesome staff. Live music provides additional ambiance. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the Brussels appetizer to the pork cheeks (which were served over a generous helping of polenta), to the chicken piccata. We'd come back in a heartbeat.

We ended up going to an event next door and decided to check out Barrilleaux's - they did not disappoint! The Braised Pork Cheeks were amazing; melt in your mouth savory. Two of us got the Chicken Piccata but forewarning, it has a spicy kick to it but thoroughly enjoyable. The Pomme Frites are a must! The truffle aioli is incredible too!

Everything I had (fried green tomatoes, pomme frites, shrimp & grits) was really good. Even one of my dining companions who's a professed "picky eater" with a sensitive stomach, enjoyed his meal and couldn't find anything to complain about. When a lot of restaurants are using staffing shortages as an excuse to provide subpar service, Thaddeus (the GM) and his staff were prompt and attentive. As a local who's always looking for good places to recommend and bring out-of-town guests, Barrilleaux rises to the top of my list. The fact that it's within walking distance to Frenchman Street is a plus, for anyone who wants a more authentic New Orleans experience.

Ok, so I was very excited to see this new place close to where I live. AND they were offering a Drag Brunch that Sunday. I made reservations had to pay $10 per person for the brunch - up front. Upon arrival there was a robust crowd which was exciting but nobody to seat us. Eventually we were seated but then it took at least 1/2 hr to get a drink order in and a wait yet again to be served and food order taken. All the while the show had begun. The show was pretty good but eclipsed by the poor service. Food was average. This restaurant suffered that day from no knowledgeable wait staff. It makes all the difference!!

We did the drag brunchThe good:Bottomless mimosasThe queens were beautiful and so talented and their styles were so varied (1-pageant 1-entertainment younger 1- high energy stripe style 1- loves the crowd and the art) Deborah with a d was beautiful and loved the dance and music selectedThe not so good: The show was a little long (4 queens did 3 songs each)... even they they were great 2 songs each would have been fine.Coffee is charged per cup (that Bill was a surprise) Service was quite slow but food was good

We ended up here after a recommendation. We were seated quickly but the ambiance was a bit off - music went out, they used a big screen TV in the back to get it going again, and overall just very very quiet in there even with other parties speaking. The bartender was also our waiter and flat out admitted he missed work that morning due to NYE being the night before. Otherwise he was fine and he got us our drinks and food but he did complain about having to make my significant other's cocktail. Our appetizer took forever to come out. At least 45 minutes. Our water kept checking on the order and kept being told a few more minutes. It was delicious (we had the meatballs) but a massively long wait for just 4 meatballs. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits. They were good but a bit too soupy for my liking. Nice and hot, though.Prices are fair but they need to work on the turnaround time with food. I'm keeping this at 4 stars simply because with COVID I know places are short staffed right now.

Had a fantastic time at Sunday Morning Drag Brunch with friends! Cocktails are top tier! Well made and well sized! Love the open light of the dining room. Exposed brick is a nice touch. Though the space is small in comparison to other establishments, it seems larger because of set up and open large windows. Service was good. Waiter was attentive and personable. Food was decent. I was satisfied with my choices. The Queens and the cocktails are well worth the visit to the Marigny

Great atmosphere, great food, great service and a very fun drag brunch! Couldn't resist the bottomless mimosas... and they do mean bottomless. Our glasses rarely got below half. For entrees we had biscuits & gravy with the breakfast potatoes, chicken & waffles and shrimp & grits. Every dish was delicious! Anxious to go back for dinner sometime soon.
