Alma Café serves up bold flavors with a side of cool.Laveau Biscuit - Buttery, flaky, and drowning in chorizo gravy--like a warm hug with a little voodoo kick.American Breakfast - Classic, no-nonsense, and just what you need after a long night.Dauphine (Ratatouille) Omelette - A fancy French veggie party wrapped in fluffy eggs--light, fresh, and guilt-free enough to justify extra bacon.Vanilla Cappuccino - Smooth, frothy, and just the right amount of sweet--like your morning coffee got a glow-up.Brunch here? Stay for another coffee!

We ate here for our Valentine dinner. We had a 6:15 pm reservation and sat at the bar. For appetizers, we ordered the butternut squash soup that was delicious as well as a traditional Honduran Tamale which was also delicious and spicy. The traditional tamale was so good, we ordered a second one and added a duck confit tamale. The duck confit which was awful and should have been taken off of our bill ($18), it looked so different from the other tamale b/c the masa was wet like porridge. I ate 1 bite and had to spit it out. The Chilean Sea Bass was simple and not over cooked but not note worthy, as was the shrimp. The Espresso Martinis were very good. I wish they had coffee available to order, but I understand why it was limited to just cocktails. The Tres Leches was delicious and the rice pudding was just ok. The ambiance was welcoming, small dining room but clean. Server was ok but nothing special. It was a pricey dinner, at $304 with tip for four folks that included 4 apps, two entrees, 2 beers, 3 cocktails plus 2 desserts. The only memorable food was the traditional tamale and Tres Leches. I gave it a 3.6

Food was pretty good, but not good enough to justify absolutely terrible service. This was the most rushed dinner service of all time. We were asked about what we wanted to drink before we even sat down. Never in my life have I been asked about dessert before biting into my entree. We got a whole bottle of wine and dessert and we were out of the restaurant in about 45 minutes. This was supposed to be a valentine's day dinner. If this place didn't have 20% auto gratuity for a party of two, I wouldn't have tipped 20%.Save your time for the innumerable incredible restaurants in this city.

This place came highly recommended, so we made sure to fit it into our NOLA trip. We visited on a Sunday for brunch, and I was able to secure a reservation for my group of 12 by calling the morning before.Check-in was a little chaotic...the hostess seemed overwhelmed and kept insisting that our whole group needed to be present, even though we were all there, just browsing the thrift shop across the street while waiting for our table. We ended up waiting about 15-20 minutes past our reservation time, but given how busy it was, we were grateful to have a reservation at all!To start, I ordered a Bloody Mary, which was so tasty and even came with a piece of delicious chicharrón which was such a great touch. My boyfriend and I shared the lox and the Alma breakfast. The salmon on the lox was fresh, but the portion was a little small for the price. The Alma breakfast, on the other hand, was great especially the beans. Wow! So much flavor. Easily the best part of the meal. My boyfriend and I were literally fighting over the last bites! Before leaving, we decided to try the tres leches cake. This version was a bit different from others I've had since it was on the drier side, served in a bowl of milk. An interesting take, and I really enjoyed it! Perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. While it wasn't my favorite tres leches ever, it was still a solid dessert. Overall, I definitely recommend this place!

Let me start with this, the food is great. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. The issue was the service. My friend (the birthday girl) called a few days before asking if they'd be able to accommodate 15 people. They confirmed that they could so she made a recommendation. Fast forward to the day of our reservation, all 15 of us are there on time to be sat, but they can't seat us yet because there are no available tables. Fine- it happens. However management and some of the servers acted like we were the problem. The manager treated us like we were bothering him by waiting patiently for our reservation. From the time we arrived to the time we got our food was 1.5 hours. They actually weren't able to seat us together. Instead, our group was split into two. This was the first time the person who'd made the reservation was informed that this would happen. She was also informed once arriving that there was a $15/person fee if you byo cake. Our server was fine for the most part. My aguachile dish was good. My friends enjoyed their food and drinks. The space is beautiful. But we were all rubbed the wrong way by the service.

Came here for weekday breakfast. Made a reservation but likely not needed for time/day. Interior is welcoming with nice tile painting. Bar is impressive too.Got the chilaquiles which were excellent with the refried beans, pork, half avocado and runny eggs. We also got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were excellent. The special was a soft shell crab eggs Benedict on a rye toast which was heavenly. Coffee was well made and refills galore. Also love the Alma mugs!

Came on NYE & they had lots of staff and were friendly and accommodating. I just got hung up on one staff member who kept coughing loudly.Food was fairly tasty. Their eggs came out very moist and their house hot sauce was wonderful. The cafe environment is so peaceful. We would come back to try some different menu items.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Honduran restaurant during my visit in New Orleans. A local friend of mine took me there and I can't rave enough about our experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the stage for an incredible meal. The hostess was so joyful and nice. We had ordered and once the food was delivered, executive chef (& owner) Melissa greeted us after the first dish was dropped off! Her personality shines through in every aspect of the restaurant, and it's clear she cares about her guests. The menu features a wonderful array of authentic dishes, each more delicious than the last. The fresh oysters were a standout--perfectly briny and served with a zesty twist that highlighted their natural flavors. The arroz con pollo was a savory masterpiece; tender chicken nestled in perfectly cooked rice, infused with spices that were so unique and yimmy. And let's not forget the specialty cucumber dill salad atop housemade tzatziki--crisp, refreshing, and a perfect complement to the rich flavors of the main dishes. Another unforgettable combo was the smoked tomato and peach salad- with their specialty crafted burrata. Just wow!I also indulged in one of their mocktails, can't recall the name but it had coconut cream, and it was the right balance of sweetness and softness. It was a delightful treat that paired wonderfully with our food.Melissa's extra care and the waitstaff's attention to hospitality truly elevate the dining experience. The fact the the owner took the time to chat with us about the dishes and her inspiration behind them, made the meal feel so personal and special. This restaurant is a gem, and I can't recommend it enough. I can't wait to return and explore more of their incredible offerings when I'm back in town! Thank you Alma!

The food and the service were incredible! I recommend trying their pupusas and most of the small plates. Delicious coffee from Alma Coffee, GA(not related to this establishment) is a bonus! I'd recommend reserving a table ahead of time, as waitlists for walk-ins tend to get long.
