I Ordered the Chicken Shawarma Pita. Definitely not the same flavors I remember. This time around just no flavor whatsoever, just bland. Thank God for the hot sauce packet that came with my order. Portion size is nothing to write home about. Smaller than what it use to be. $6.99

After hearing good things about the food at Akasha Market, we stopped in to get fried seafood platters for three. All I can say is, Yummy. The seafood is fresh, perfectly seasoned, lightly battered, and fried golden. The fries that come with it are some of the best in town. I want to try one of their hamburgers next.Highly recommend!!

Best burger in Baton Rouge and while my gyro knowledge may not have great breadth; it's gotta be up there. Whether it's after a long night of work, a long night of drinking, or me not wanting to make lunch, this place has been a Tigerland staple for me since Freshman year.

Half a decade ago, before the food truck rage, before specialty burger spots began popping up around Baton Rouge, the LSU region's option for a greasy burger fix came down to two places: one at Northgate and one at Southgate. For years Roul's has garnered the love of the Tigers for it's Juicy Juicy. For those of us who live on the Southside, there is only Akasha. It has been an institution for nearly a decade. Need kegs, hookah, cheap wine, and a one pound burger. Akasha has got you. I haven't stepped inside a Tigerland bar in years, but if LSU has an initiation beyond Saturday Night in Death Valley, it is soaking up blue test tube shots and beer with the nice booze mop that is an Akasha cheeseburger combo. And they have a mystery garlicy, pepper secret sauce. Their hours run late, until 4am on the weekends. Their selection of alcohol can please any crowd and their grill is always open. As are the perpetually rotating spits of gyro and chicken shawarma. Treat yo self

Ahhh finally the time has come. I have lived in Baton Rouge for 3 years and never step foot in this hidden, sorta rough on the edges GEM. Man this place has absolutely everything you need from fake gucci belts, bongs, fried chicken, and probably about 250 different varieties of drinks. I was surprised to see Big Shots from NOLA and welches grape juice as a regular thing on the shelves. I ordered the chicken strips and fries. The chicken was made fresh to order and Kenny the cashier was hilarious. Definitely will be back time and time again.
