I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, cabbage, and cornbread with a sweet tea. The fried chicken was absolutely killer tasty. The sides were plenty good. The two guys I was with had the baked chicken and other sides and said it was delicious. All 3 of us ate every ounce on our plates. With a drink and tax it was under 8 bucks (not sure why that guy paid 12). The sign said the lunch special is $6 meat + 2 from 11AM to 1PM, Tuesday through Friday. It's a little hard to find. It is attached to the back of the Teachers Apartments building. A little tricky to find, but it's worth looking for. I'd normally give it 4 stars, but giving it 5 to offset some of what I think is unwarranted bad pub. Go check it out!

This is a "soul food" wannabe place. All the sides look like they are straight out of a can. I had the ribs, mac and cheese and the green beans. The meal also came with this flat, tasteless, greasy piece of what I assume was suppose to be cornbread. The BBQ sauce was anything but home coking. Its served cafeteria style so you can see what you're getting, which should have swayed me to find something else to eat but I gave it a shot anyways. Yikes, bad move. The only reason I didn't give it one star was that there seemed to be a steady flow of customers coming in for their fried chicken and fish. Maybe I ordered wrong, but the sides were all the same and nothing soulful about them. On top of that I paid almost $12 with drink. Proceed with caution.

What can I say, don't get the Mac n cheese, don't get the cornbread, don't get fried chicken, don't get the greens, don't get the ribs, the oxtails are tiny.... I recommend getting a bottled drink or a cup of their southern tea. The servers were friendly, that's a plus. Oh I forgot to say don't get the sweet potatoes or that the canned corn. I hope this was helpful.

Monique's has amazing turkey and dressing, and the sides are pretty good. It's filling and a good place to people watch. It's not open on Mondays. The restaurant is pretty inside with lots of windows, though there's not a lot to see in the area. It's next to an assisted living apartment building, I think. If you need a quick filling, non-fast food lunch, try it out.

I go here about once a week now that I found it. The cashier has been told I'm gay so she acts a little weird when she sees me coming. The price is reasonable, and the place is neat and clean, the food is just mediocre. But, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Regardless though the workers should greet, and treat each customer the same. Oh, and by the way, never been gay. Sorry to disappoint you.

When I got here I looked for a health department score, I didn't see one posted. I decided to eat here anyway. The food was "ok" nothing to write home about. After checking with the county clerk's office, this business has no current business license or health department score. Needless to say, I won't be back...
