Filet Mignon.... I ordered the smaller one and it was still almost more than I could eat and cooked to perfection!

We went here for a work dinner and were placed in the private dining room. We sat in a big square formation. I believe we had about 20 people in our group and the room fit us comfortably, although some were kind of "stuck" once they sit down. The room was dark (intimate lighting), however based on the number of people using their phone lights for ambiance, led me to believe more than one person felt it was too dark in the room. I thought it was fine (I did not have my phone light on).We had one server for our room and she was a PRO - so good, she was kind, patient and fun. She made suggestions for food and drink and also told us the history of the restaurant (it was the 75th anniversary year in 2024).We all shared appetizers that consisted of corn cakes, onion rings, muscles, Brussel sprouts. They were all great and 3 order each were plenty for the room.Because it was a work dinner, I decided I would try to order something from the lesser expensive options. I ordered the JK Classic Burger. It was perfectly cooked at medium, juicy and flavorful. The fries were ok - they were coated, which made them heavier than normal fries.Overall great food with amazing flavors, great service and a cool history behind this business.

Solid old-school Nashville steakhouse. Jimmy Kelly's is a solid steakhouse with good food and a nice bar. The ambiance is somewhat intimate with hardwood floors and wood beams on the ceiling, and it's a nice place to bring a date or a small group. Many of the staff have been here a long time and they are super helpful. My wife and I most recently visited for New Year's Eve dinner, and we had a great meal. The restaurant has a nice wine list, but I had a 2016 Stags' Leap Cab in my cellar that I brought. Our server immediately noticed the bottle and did a great job opening and pouring the wine. The $30 corkage fee was well worth it. I also ordered a Manhattan when we sat down and it was a great start to the evening. The complimentary hot corn cakes served with butter are always a treat, and we always seem to finish all of them. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye Pittsburgh Rare and it was cooked perfectly. I paired it with the Cajun Shrimp sauce and with a side of Creamed Corn Brûlée. The sauce worked very well with the steak. The corn was served in a hot skillet and was appropriately sweet. All in all, a delicious meal.I highly recommend Jimmy Kelly's for a good steak. My wife ordered the lobster pasta and enjoyed it that night and the next day. It was a large portion with lots of lobster.

We decided to try Jimmy Kelly's for a family anniversary dinner and had high hopes for the experience at this Nashville institution.First, the pros:- The cornbread cakes served before the meal are amazing!!- All of the appetizers we tried were delicious, especially the crab cakes!Cons:- The salad had no substance, just a few pieces of lettuce with carrots and turnips. - We found the service to be off putting. Our server would speak very quietly so that it was difficult to hear and we had to ask him to repeat himself. At other times, he would begin speaking while he was still walking up to the table. He also never checked in with us during the meal. Between the server and the hostess, the staff was very stiff. The steaks were delicious, but there are other steakhouses in Nashville I'd recommend over Jimmy Kelly's.

Their jumbo shrimp is to die for. They also are the most generous people in town at the zoo fundraising event. Their beef stuffed pastry was also so moist and tasty. Can't wait to come back for more!

I made the mistake of reading a review of top steakhouses in Nashville and it listed Jimmy Kelly very high. Now they did have my favorite wine but other than that the experience was just ok. Atmosphere and service was really good. The ribeye was ok, the Mac and cheese was really good, creamed spinach was not good. Overall I would not come back, with so many high end restaurants in Nashville this has some work to do. I should have looked at the yelp reviews because it is a 3 star restaurant with 5 star prices, subtracting the wine it was still $800 for four and the quality was not that great.

Complimentary Valet parking. Ramp entry to restaurant if desired. The Anniversary Dinner Specials $90 per couple. Included choice of salad, Lobster Thermidor or Chateaubriand and Pompous Fries! Claude our server was outstanding. He even told is a little history of the 30+ years of service at Kelly's. The 4 of us were in a private room upstairs in the Mansion. Please give the New Owners a chance to give y'all a dinner of enjoyment and pleasureto your taste buds! Ciao Ronnie!

Valet parking. Walking upstairs to the door, and an amazing decorated mansion awaiting guests. A stately home decorated with chandeliers, white table cloths, fireplaces, dim lighting, mirrors and fine oil paintings. Several small dining rooms upstairs; each had about six tables. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, easy to carry conversations. The service was outstanding! Our waiter Scott was very warm and cheerful. He checked in on us throughout the meal and answered our questions patiently in great detail. Prices were on the higher end. Food was great! The famous corn cakes were served throughout the meal. Very addictive, one could easily end up eating too much and spoil the appetite for the entree. We ordered:5*Kelly's half filet with house salad: I have to sing praises of Kelly's for even offering the dish. I usually don't want to stuff myself at dinner and this is a perfect solution. The filet mignon was very tender and tasty, just perfect!4*Fish of the day: sea bass was cooked tender with an amazing sauce. 5*Prime aged bone in New York strip: it was a huge 18 oz steak. I didn't try it but was told very good. Every entree came with house salad and baked potatoes. The salad was ordinary, but the baked potato was so good I took it home. Overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes steakhouses.

Found this place as the local top steakhouse in Nashville. Referred by some of the local folks and wanted to go to a non chain restaurant. We made our reservations on open table which was simple and drove over. It's not something you would expect in the spot that it is in as it was so hidden at the end of the blocknoff the main street. I lived the cool old architecture inside and out. lots of tables and seems to be busy all the time. Excellent fine dining staff and very knowledgeable of the history and the Menu. The Menu was very limited but had all of the basic options other than steaks. I had the 8 oz Filet, which comes with a salad and baked potato. The steak was delicious, perfectly cooked, and nice flavor added the sautéed mushrooms and onions. Potato was just a potato, nothing exciting. The salad was not fresh made but seemed to be flat out of a chiller and pre-made. Something that comes right out. They have a signature corn meal mini pancake, which tasted like my silver dollar pancakes. Interesting signature item for a steak house. If you get to enjoy the area and want a good local place, this is it.
