Jersey Oven

For someone who was born and raised in Jersey, this place is the real deal! When moving to Nashville, I was pessimistic about finding a true NJ bagel shop, but I was wrong about not being able to find one! When you walk in, there are so many Jersey signs that make me feel right at home. The service is quick, and while you may have to wait a bit for the sandwiches, it's well worth it! I ordered the pork roll and cheese on a sesame bagel. The bagel has the exact consistency of a true NJ bagel, and the pork roll was so tasty. If you don't know what pork roll is, it's a type of ham that everyone in Jersey eats with their bagels! Try it. You'll like it. They also put a ton of cheese on the bagel, which oozes out of your bagel. It's amazing. My boyfriend got the sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel and he loved it as well. Again, they aren't shy with the amount of cheese, which is what's a good thing.We will, of course, be back for more delicious Jersey bagels!

I go here often and when it's not packed my regular order is being made as I walk in. Today I heard someone complaining about service. I'm from NJ and honestly it's a bagel shop not a restaurant. You order your food, you get your food and you eat it. The food is delicious but I think people want their bagels hand fed and hands kissed. That's not Jersey. Also half the time people here are so self absorbed they got no clue where to stand, if only there was a huge lighted sign that says order here.If I worked there I'd be pretty annoyed too. Petty people reviews about bagels being out.. Get there earlier ‍ too much cream cheese? Take some off. Not made exactly how you like it? Make your own. Don't take stars away because they don't make them how one person likes it.

My 2 stars do not reflect the quality of the food!!The bagels were good. They miss the accuracy of our order on two items... both were to have extra egg. I'm thinking the "person" taking my order is tuned out. There was a limited supply left of the bagels. We knew it and she stated that as well. So we placed our selection and she "carefully" wrote it down! Good job!Bad job...She took so long that the bagels we selected when there was no one else in the shop were quickly taken by the other staff member WITHOUT ASKING what we selected.When you're giving your order and you specify exactly the bagels you want from what's remaining but the hostess mess's up by not bagging your bagels first..Disappointing!! And No apology!! What's worse is when staff members "whisper" about the customer in front of them! To the Owner... you have a great shop! And great products! Your hustling!! Don't let your front staff represent you poorly!!

Bumping it up to 5 stars after my last visit. Basic deli interior, The staff is friendly but also real so come correct. Absolutely fantastic bagels and cool creations. Had the hot pastrami and Swiss, on a pumpernickel rye bagel (per his suggestion). 9/10 The meat was juicy and packed to the brim with flavor. The way they whip their cream cheese, all the unique spreads. Chewy light bagels. Guys, we happily drive 30 mins to get these on the weekends and so should you.

As a Jersey girl I can safely say this place is the real deal. Best bagels in the area and I can get a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese in the south? What more can you ask for?! Seriously though, this place is worth a try. You won't regret it.

Favorite Dishes: Pork Roll, Egg & Cheese on Everything Bagel, Sesame Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese

It's been a bit since we tried Jersey Oven and we wanted to give them another chance so we grabbed a bunch of bagels and cream cheese last month. It was much better overall and our whole family enjoyed their bagels. The strawberry cream cheese had an odd gritty texture to it so next time we'd try a different cream cheese (or just get a plain one). We're glad we tried them again and will be back.

This place is manna from heaven for New Jersey transplants looking for a legit Jersey bagel. Local Mt. Juliet residents don't know how lucky they are to roll up and grab a dozen freshly baked, chewy, fluffy bagels with assorted flavored spreads. Even the decor evokes a favorite bagel shop from your local Jersey town. Bagels are made on-site by the owner who learned the craft as a kid. Plan ahead to pick up as they close at 1pm most days and 12:30 on Sundays. They're Southern NJ folk so they serve pork roll instead of Taylor Ham but - you can't have everything. :-)

Been here many-a times. Great food, very quick service. If you don't want 3 lbs of cream cheese on your bagel, order it light. Pork roll is great, sausage breakfast sandwich is great. Love the everything bagel and Kaiser rolls. The corned beef sandwich is to die for! Everything comes with the New Jersey attitude ;) best bagels in Nashville
