"On our most recent visit, we sat at the bar and decided to stay there. The live musician, Jada, was fantastic! We had drinks and shared multiple appetizers. We love the classy vibe here and will definitely be back. Make a reservation!"
"We popped in for a happy hour treat before dinner and I was super excited to see this place! I'd never been before and was really happy with the experience - will definitely come back for dinner. Inside was gorgeous and it was a good-sized space, too!Our server knew we were in a little bit of a hurry and did a great job getting our food and drinks out quickly. Very grateful!I had an AMAZING cocktail - the miso old fashioned. It was unlike any other old fashioned I've had and it was a great surprise. So much so that I had to order a second one :) We got shishito peppers and nori fries - both were excellent!"

"Great food and Bret our server was right on with our food orders. We had the sashimi platters and Scottish Salmon. Food was fresh which is key to good sushi. I loved the grilled salmon w/out the sauce. We were too full to order dessert but this restaurant is perfect for any special meal. We will be back and the chef catered to our special food requests! Lovely dinner with our long time friends!"
"Food: Best Korean fried chicken I've ever had! I always have to get the fried chicken wings when I come visit. I know the chef personally went through all kinds of different trials and recipe tweaks to get it absolute perfection. The hamachi collar is one of the best I've had as well. One of the friends in our group said it was her favorite dish of the night besides the wings. The pad Kee mao is legit, so much flavor and we totally killed that dish. If you're into inventive creative dishes, try the kimchi fries, interesting way to make loaded fries. All the sushi rolls that we ordered were delicious, chef's kiss "mwah"! Service: Stop by the bar and say Hello to Michelle. She is the sweetest! I've talked to a couple regulars who love going here and I'm sure it's because of the friendly staff. Ambiance: I won't lie, the Kpop music videos distracted me like no other but it's so fun to watch! They all look like perfect dolls. It gives the place a fun vibe though."
"Located in the heart of Nashville this sushi spot is not only budget friendly but the food was phenomenal . Sushi tastes super fresh and will have you ordering more, trust me! Yum yum roll is my recommendation for one of the rolls . Chilli edamame heads up you might as well ask for a spoon because the sauce on bottom is that good. (Dip your sushi rolls in ) not much of an ambience or a vibe but for the price this place is way better than a 5 star restaurant. The service for our first time was really good and the food came out pretty fast . For the price and the food give this place a try"
"Dinner tonight did not disappoint!! Tokyo is THE BEST Japanese Steak House in Middle TN!! The employees are kind and courteous, the chefs put on a GREAT show and serve a tasty meal. And the sushi is fresh!!We went this past weekend and 2 people in our party have a shrimp allergy. EVERYONE (chef, servers, Hostesses, etc) were made aware and every precaution taken to keep from having cross contamination of the shrimp and the shrimp was the last item cooked on the grill. It was my birthday, so I got the drum and song fromThe employees which was fun!We all left with full belies, smiles on our faces and even leftovers! (My favorite!!)"
"A hidden gem in a sea of strip malls off Sam Ridley. This charming spot is next to Subway and should not be passed up! We started our meal with Tom Kha which was very balanced in flavor, perfectly sweet, tangy and sour and addicting. The fresh spring rolls were also very good and I appreciate that it was cut into smaller pieces rather than served as a whole or half. For our entrees we got the curry fried rice with beef and Pad Kee Mao with chicken. Both were cooked just right (noodles were not over done, rice was also perfect) The only improvement would be the noodle dish, which could use a little more meat. Service was very friendly and attentive even as it got busier. Overall I am very pleased with my experience here and can't wait to go back to try more dishes!"
"Just renovated, the whole place got a great face lift. Still fast and great sushi and a couple of other entres to choose from. I like that this place is usually not packed, service is always good and they have a lot of different rolls to choose from. Cute and easy !"
"Go to Drakes. We've lived in the area for over a year and just discovered Drakes a month ago. We wanted takeout sushi, and Drakes was closest. You wouldn't expect sushi from what looks like a neighborhood bar when you walk in, but it was excellent. We returned this evening for dinner and to try dining in the bar. The food was great, but the real surprise was the amazing service. In most restaurants, the servers may be attentive, but they seem focused on their own tables. At Drakes, the entire staff worked as a team. If there were an empty dish on the table, whoever walked by would ask if we were done and then take it away. It was great to see such fantastic service. Mahni and her peers did a great job taking care of us, and we look forward to our next visit. Really, you should go."
"As I've gone to Sonobana habitually over the years, I've learned that there is quite honestly nothing I wouldn't try on the menu. I think visitors have to remember that this is an establishment which still does many things in a retro fashion: they have a landline, and they often use it. Waits can range from 5 minutes on a slow weekday to over 30 minutes in peak dining hours. I can attest to the insane lines on weekend evenings: we once parked, saw the line and considered waiting in it (it was out the door), and walked right back out to consider dining elsewhere. Just be mindful of when you go, and your party should be fine. You can always call ahead, but know that the line may be busy.I just ordered the futo maki roll, salmon roll, and tuna roll yesterday evening for pickup. There was a 30 minute wait, but the rolls always come out exactly as they should: balanced portions of rice, fish, and nori. The rice is seasoned well but not enough to make the rice mushy, and the fish is always fresh. There's a reason Sonobana always has a line out the door, and it's because they do simple rolls (and also complex ones) really well. You can taste the hard work and craftsmanship sometimes, I swear.Ambiance feels like retro family dining to be honest. As an AAPI person who calls Nashville home, it can sometimes feel othering when a customer at another table is unabashedly staring at you. This is no fault of the restaurant of course: just something to be mindful of when you dine. We have often stopped by the small market during our waits if it isn't closed. It's quaint and actually sells fresh seafood. If you're expecting Mitsuwa though, honey, this ain't it. Think more mom and pop bodega, and you'll feel much better.Plenty of parking in the Trader Joe's strip mall area. Highly recommend (and always kicking myself for recommending a local favorite)."
"Love Peter's for a workday lunch stop. Service here is impressively fast and always friendly. The sushi always comes out extremely fresh and the quality of fish is too notch. Highly recommend checking out the Michael Jackson roll if you like a little spice with your roll."

We love going out to nice steakhouses, and must say our visit to Jeff Ruby's was as good as it gets. The cocktail and wine selections were great. For starters, we had the Wagyu Meatball and Pork Belly. Both were terrific. Then, for the main meal, we had the Wagyu Filet and Ribeye, respectively, accompanied by asparagus and mashed potatoes, all cooked to perfection. We were stuffed, but still had to split a slice of strawberry ice cream cake as it sounded too good to pass up. We were glad to do so, as it was a nice cap on a 100-degree day!The service was top notch from start to finish, and the setting was very unique with a warm feeling. The noise level was perfect to carry on with good conversation.

Have been wanting to come to Sunda for years but I generally stay away from The Gulch & the tourist that swarm there. Needless to say, I did finally come down here for brunch after seeing the Sumo Mary on Instagram & deciding i needed that in my life. It was everything a young boy could want in a loaded Bloody Mary. Garlicky & Spicy & busting with flavor & vodka. Not to mention, it was loaded with yummy food from the menu. I would not hesitate to go back & order that again. I would also like to have dinner here but likely won't because I don't venture to the gulch that often. Service was nice & friendly. Dining room is very pretty & functions well for conversations.

One of our fav date spots - huge fan of the Mongolian beef & also always try something new with it - this time the dynamite shrimp! Exceeded our expectations with quick seating, prompt attentiveness by our server and even our food was delivered relatively fast! Aesthetically the environment is so beautiful, well temperate, enough space between tables, dim lighting, and chill music! Highly recommend a visit!

We visited for trivia and had a great time! It was also half off wine (Tuesday), however their wine prices are not listed on the menu, which made it a bit cumbersome to work out which wine to order. I ordered the boneless wings and did half and half. So crispy and yummy! The spicy isn't very spicy at all, but still very tasty! The pieces of chicken are big so I definitely could have gone with a smaller order. Kimchi fried rice was also good. Server was great and kept everyone's orders straight even though we had a large party. It was loud for trivia but we had so much fun!

Yummy local spot that has been in Smyrna for years. Coming here is like meal prepping for three days, but without moving your own hands. If we ever need a hibachi fix you'll catch us at Tokyo. I love coming here for a casual day or on special occasions. Not only is the food always consistent, but so is the service. My go to order is the filet mignon with fried rice. Expect to have full belly and a full to go plate too!

I know I was really hungry, but everything tasted really good tonight. I started eating before taking my pictures of the food, LOL.The calamari was perfectly cooked and was a great appetizer. I got the chicken pad Thai bento, which came with some california roll sushi which was great! The rice was moist enough, which many places don't get it right. Most other places the rice is too dry. Maybe a bit more vinegar flavor, but now I'm just getting picky. The spring roll was nice, the chicken pad Thai was outstanding with a lot of flavor. It may have been a bit more "wet" than I am used to, but it was really good. Staff was really friendly and attentive with their service. Will definitely be back if I am in the area again.

Pros:Great downtown location and easy to walk to from most nearby hotelsVaried sushi options - so many specialty rollsLarge dining areaFast serviceCons:Shrimp tempura roll had too much panko so I couldn't taste anything. Had to leave most of the roll uneaten :(Salmon lacked any flavorSurf clam also lacked flavor and wasn't very freshPro tip:They did the CA roll and miso soup week. Maybe stick with the cooked rolls. Lots of Japanese beer options too.

"I love the concept! Truly the best way to do All You Can Eat style sushi out there, I wish it was more present in other areas of the country (especially in my hometown), but I really enjoyed having this experience while I was visiting Nashville. For the uninitiated, conveyor belt style eating is done by pulling small plates off a conveyor belt that is continuously moving throughout the dining room. Patrons usually sit around a circular or oval shaped bar, but sometimes you see the conveyor belt meandering all over the place. They can be covered or uncovered, I really appreciated that the conveyor belt at Sushi Train was covered! Much more sanitary. In non-AYCE situations, your plate color corresponds to a price, the staff simply total up your plates. At sushi train, it appears there is an option to go a la carte, but at 25 bucks, I don't understand why you wouldn't go for the all you can eat option unless you just want a snack. Also, the conveyor belt is massive, centrally located to the restaurant and diving in and out or rows of seats. It's a large place, great layout, and the staff works hard to keep it stocked. As much as I loved the format, I will say that most of the sushi I ate was just OK and there were a couple that I didn't like. I did like that not just rolled sushi was circulating, but also nigiri, appetizers, cold salads, and desserts. Your waitress would also take special requests from you for anything you saw on the menu but not on the belt, included in the price! All in all, even if the sushi itself was pretty average, this place gets a 5 from me for their superior style of service, and a format that allows me to try small portions of a great variety of foods, as opposed to committing to large rolls limiting what I can try. I would definitely come back and bring friends!"
"Finally tried. We ordered the shoyu ramen no pork. This came with chicken, egg, and some veggies inside of course noodles. Bento box with fried tofu, veggies (broccoli & carrots) choice of sushi roll(avocado and peanut roll) white rice , miso sou and a side salad. Their dressing is good the miso soup was very good. The ramen had good flavor and they give a lot of food. The bento box was good as well. Cute restaurant, our waiter/and others were very nice. Definitely will go back to try other items."
"I'm in the area with some friends and we decided on sushi for dinner. We ordered fried rice, rainbow special roll, firecracker roll and shrimp tempura roll. Everything was very good! Sushi was fresh. We agreed that the shrimp tempura roll was not our favorite, but it was good. It had a lot of crunchies on top which we didn't feel was necessary. Firecracker roll and rainbow special roll were tasty and fried rice had nice flavor."
"We were super tired and didn't want to go out, so we had Maru delivered to our Airbnb. It was refreshing to eat something light as opposed to all the other heavy food we were eating in Nashville!I got a cup of miso soup, which was all broth with two cubes of tofu, it was good. We split three rolls. I was worried that would be too much food, but their rolls are on the smaller size so it was perfect.Philadelphia - Typical salmon, cream cheese, and avocado roll. I was happy with it.Yum Yum - Yummy for sure! This was "spicy" crab, cucumber, more crab meat, and "spicy" mayo. This did not pack a punch with the spice level, but it was really tasty and our favorite roll. I loved how much crab meat there was!Crunch Shrimp - I was expecting the crunch to be on top, like every other sushi place I have been to, but it was inside the roll? Very odd...it was like eating sand. The shrimp was dry, the crunch was dry...it needed avocado or some sauce or something to compensate for the dryness. We didn't finish this roll.Prices were cheap, each roll was less than $10. Without all the Postmates fees this probably would be been less than $30!"
"We popped into Korea BBQ on a whim when we were in the neighborhood. We were seated immediately as a party of two with a small child. They have plenty of high chairs, and all of the servers were so kind to our toddler (even when he dumped a glass of water on me. They had napkins waiting). There are a few All You Can Eat packages here, and we went for A. We had two rounds of thinly sliced beef, juicy pork belly, marinated chicken, bulgogi, and "honey pig" (which I'm assuming is honey marinated pork? It was delicious). All orders come with refillable banchan like bean sprouts, marinated tofu, soy sauce braised potatos, pickled radish, kimchi, and even the ubiquitous (and always slightly confusing) mayo-apple-potato salad. Honestly, I knew I was in an authentic place when they served that particular banchan AND had a call button on the table next the grill.Even at peak hours, the staff still came by to help us with grilling and cutting the meat. It felt like top tier service, and I just cannot believe this was all you can eat. The food quality was amazing, and the efficiency was bar none. $30 a person for set A? You'll be hard pressed to find that deal in any other major city. I've paid upwards of 45 for similar sets elsewhere. There's a great parking situation here, strip mall near a Kroger. Give this a try at your next get together!"
"Really enjoyed this plane and the open atmosphere. You have the hitachi tables and than you are able to see the folks cook and prepare the food for the non-hibachi tables. It loud and busy, everyone rushing around it's like your on Main Street in Japan... The service was spectacular, they are consistently tending to tour needs in a fashion that's not overwhelming. The food was good, the steak could be a little better seasoned but nothing I'd really complain about. Portions could be a tad larger in size but again I left full so not complaining there either."
"My cousin and I had lunch here recently and it was really good. There was only one waitress and she was swamped and apologized that it would be a bit before she could get to us. We did not wait too long and she got us some sodas while we waited for her to take our order. We started with the Vegetable Gyoza. Nicely fried, good flavor inside, nice dipping sauce. For my entrée, I had the Spicy Bulgogi Pork - spicy bulgogi pork, kimchi, scallions, and steamed rice with mixed vegetables. I really liked this. Good sized portion, especially since I added the mixed vegetables. A bit spicy but not overwhelming. Good flavors throughout. My cousin had the Poke rice bowl: salmon, tuna, avocado, seaweed salad. She really liked this. A good sized portion as well. Fresh fish. Overall a nice lunch even with the service starting off slow."
"If you dare to venture way down Nolensville Pike you'll be rewarded with this locals-favorite. The shopping center has all kinds of international markets and restaurants so we are excited to go back and try other places as well. The interior is cozy with a sushi bar and small tables. There were a lot of families here because it's casual and the portion sizes are good. They have a robust menu with Japanese and Korean entrees and sushi. I ordered the Jap Chae which is a Korean dish of glass noodles, sauteed peppers and beef. This comes with all the amazing Korean sides of kimchi and other accoutrements. My favorite was a spiced cold potato and I also devoured the cucumbers. The serving size is unreal--I had to get a to-go box and ate this for like 3 days after! My husband ordered the chicken katsu which was also a good portion and he didn't eat all of it too. The women who were working there were so kind and came over to check on us several times. We would come back here since everything was great."
"Great customer service! We order from Sapporo often. Great sushi and rice entrees. The one time we dined in, they were so kind and enjoyed playing with our littles. So cool to sit at the hibachi tables!"
"Stopped in after going paintballing and needing some serious calories replenished! This place was delicious and the service was great. The ambiance is on point and very tranquil and comfortable. We ordered garlic edamame, Dirty old man roll, Angry tuna roll, First love roll, Orange blossom roll, Triple Crown roll, and the Baked Alaska. They were all delicious!!"
"We love this restaurant! We went around 7pm on a Wednesday, and were seated right away. The service is excellent and they are very attentive. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and my husband got beef bulgogi bento box. When I say it's a bunch of food, trust me! There's sooooo much! Each box comes with your choice of 4 rolls, we both got the California roll, veggie and shrimp tempura, soup and salad, two crab cream cheese rolls, rice and your entree. All of the items were delicious! It was so much food, that we took all of our many entrees home. The leftovers were delicious too! The restaurant has plenty of parking, and a decent amount of tables. There is seating around the sushi bar too! We will be back!"
"Good sized space, feels even larger as they appear to have taken away a row of banquet seating due to staffing shortages. Sadly no sushi bar seating allowed, also due to staff issues. Overall a clean, simple and attractive space. Nice amount of room between tables. No draft beer but they do have the appropriate Japanese bottled beers. Gyoza came out hot and quite tasty. Nigiri and rolls were fine, it's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's good, and I'd certainly come back for more. Lots of diners enjoying the non-sushi options, so the menu looks worth exploring."
"Found this place through all these awesome Yelp reviews! We went for lunch on a weekend during an off hour and it was such a nice and calming lunch. The staff was great! Everyone was so courteous and attentive. Sake and beer selection was great. Orders the shrimp hibachi for our little one and it was delicious. We ordered several sushi rolls and they were all fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this place!"
"Was looking forward to trying this place, but sad to say the food was no big shakes. The ambiance is nice and place is inviting, but the food was a let down. We had the orange chicken and it was dry and did not have much flavor, I had to pour some sweet and sour sauce to remove the chickeny taste bc it had very little sauce. Also our waitress forgot the sweet and sour sauce and didn't remember it until we asked her for the check. The basil fried rice was ok but we would not be back."
"A true hidden gem tucked away in an assuming plaza in Madison (located next to Longhorn steakhouse)! I've been here several times now, a couple times before their expansion and a couple after. While I can't give a review on the hibachi side- I have nothing but good things to say about their sushi! A friend introduced me to this spot pre pandemic and I have been hooked ever since. You will not find a spot that offers a better deal while also maintaining the quality of food! At least I personally haven't. Is this the absolute best sushi? Hard to say as ultimately we are landlocked here in Nashville, but none the less there's still good and bad sushi to be had. I prefer only the good kind but to each their own. Arigato has the good stuff when you combine the price point, taste and quality. Arigato offers an impressive variety of really creative rolls. You can also see pics on their walls which is very helpful visually speaking. I think this spot is particularly good for beginners as there are plenty of rolls that are not raw yet still has lots of good raw options. I personally like both so I appreciate their offers. Moreover, Arigato is the only menu I have come across offering a choice in the rolls you want for your sushi combo meal! Meaning you have a list of rolls to choose from for a certain price point. I.Love.This. sooo much! Most sushi places will offer a combo but on their terms, such as a California with either philly, spicy tuna/salmon or alaksan roll - for example. For me I like picking from their Arigato special sushi menu- either two or three rolls for under $25 (a steal!)The price point honestly can't be beat when you choose one of these combos. A la carte, the rolls are similar to any other place you might find sushi. The deal really lies within these combos. Beyond sushi, I can tell some of their other hibachi or bento combos are also decently priced as well.Lastly, the service has always been pleasant here. All the ladies are alway kind and attentive. No complaints here. Also, it's never been too bad of a wait time either. I can't wait to go back. Don't wait. Bring your fellow sushi loving friends/ lovers/ family. You won't be disappointed."
"This place is soooo good ! It's a hidden gem really. The staff are great. The food is excellent. I got the red curry chicken and it was supreme !! The waitress was so sweet to me and even brought me out something to my car I left inside. They need to get their pot holes fixed in the parking lot but it's still a killer spot !"
"My husband and I took a break from shopping at the Tanger outlets and stumbled across the sushi restaurant. The food and service were A+!! The calamari was incredible!! Great portions also. We also had sashimi and sushi rolls. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back!!"
"We were really excited when Chada Thai first opened up as they were super close to our apartment and we absolutely love Thai food. We dined at the restaurant once and it was very, very good, but we ended up getting takeout during Covid and it was a complete 180 from the dine-in experience. The portions were very skimpy for what we paid and it was really a shame since we liked them initially. There has since been additional Thai restaurants that have opened up nearby and we've ended up choosing them over Chada Thai as they've been more consistent."
"This was definitely not expected, but I am grateful I tried Koi. I had not tried any of their locations before, so this was a pleasant surprise. We had a group of ten people in attendance where we were able to do separate checks. That was a great win on my end. They do add gratuity onto the checks for larger parties we came to learn. They offer as the name of the restaurant adds, Thai food and sushi. I had a bento box that offered both and the rest of the table got sushi largely. The guys next to me go their Thai food and really enjoyed their food. Everyone did actually. I think that was the most attractive concept about the restaurant was having iPad on each table that showed the offerings of their sushi. Visual of the sushi made it easier to determine what to order plus giving a breakdown of each sushi item. I haven't seen this in too many restaurants, and this was a great added touch.Service was great! We had a great time interacting with the servers and felt they were very accommodating to us and visited us when necessary.Parking is a bit tricky. It is a small lot off of a major road. Come prepared to search for parking if visiting during a high volume time. We came on a Monday evening and it was not difficult, but can see this being problematic on a weekend night or during lunch rush."
"I was very pleasantly surprised with this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside but I really enjoyed the food! The server was very pleasant and attentive to anything that I might need. I had read a complaint that the yum yum sauce tasted like peanut butter. There's a reason. It is! The peanut butter yum yum sauce was unusual but very good! I really liked it. I recommend this place, especially if you're like me, traveling for work and dining alone."
"Absolute delight find. I didn't expect this place to have sushi and have been to two others around the area in search of finding a great neighborhood sushi spot; the others were let downs, so search continued, and this place was on the list. Learned my lesson from the last ones to check the menu out, which had some variety. Not all California rolls with other toppings. Sooo much better than the other places I've tried in the area, and I will be a regular. Super fresh. Great cuts and presentation, super friendly staff. The sushi chef seems to truly like his craft & hospitality. They can only serve beer on the adult beverages which is a bummer but everything else here is really great sushi and service wise."
