400 never misses!! Definitely up there with Prince's as the local's favorite. The mark of a good hot chicken is that it's still good with no spice and 400 definitely does that. I love the hot shrimp with fries. Just a tip, order in advance online or you'll have a long wait but it's worth it!

I recently visited 400 Degrees Hot Chicken and tried their Nashville hot chicken at the 200 Degrees spicy level. Even though this wasn't the spiciest option, it packed plenty of heat, and I loved it! The spice didn't taste artificial or like capsaicin powder--it came from real peppers and a flavorful spice blend, which made the chicken both spicy and tasty. While the food was great, the service could've been better. Despite ordering online for DoorDash pickup with an estimated 30-minute wait, it took an hour to get my order, and the restaurant wasn't particularly busy at the time. That said, the ambiance was nice, with plenty of seating and a lot of locals, which speaks to the love people have for their hot chicken.

Sllllllooooooow service. We waited a hour for our food. It wasn't packed and it was only 3 of us. I mean , we were very hungry so it wasn't ideal to wait that long but there's nothing else over there and we really wanted hot chicken. They told us a 25 minute wait.. that turned into an hour. I really really wanted the pork chop. I'd been watching it online for a long time before my trip, only to find out after an hour that they DO NOT have the pork chop!!Honestly it looks like they are servicing call in or door dash orders first cause it's like a line of orders just sitting on the counter but NONE of those people are in here. They are waiting to be picked up. That's probably where the pork chop was! The food was not what we hoped for. We ordered the Leg Quarter , they did give us 2, I am thinking that could've been to make up for the pork chop as they gave us a few extra shrimp too. The leg quarter was soooo greasy and tasted like burned grease to us. None of us liked it! It was greease all up in the chicken. Now I love me some crispy chicken so I'm happy for all the skin but oooh baby no to the taste of burned grease The shrimp was inconsistent in size. Some of them were really big and others regular size. Not really an issue just an observation. I did like the shrimp but my friends didn't . However i liked them. Tasted very different from the chicken. Total was $59They do have a place where you can take pictures. It's setup with a ring light and all. We certainly took advantage of it. Now they are pleasant! Very pleasant. Even when I complained about the timing they were still nice about it.

Alright y'all - I'm bummed. This place will receive my lowest rating for a Hot Chicken experience during my recent Nashville vacation. I really wanted to like this place a bit more because I heard 400 Degrees Hot Chicken as a recommendation from locals at least 5 times the week I was there. We finally made it over for lunch and there are three main reasons for my 2-star rating --1) when we arrived, the power was out. Their electrician walked into the restaurant the same time as we did, and while he did fix the issue -- we waited for over an hour for our food. I would have appreciated it more if they just shut the storefront down until the power was up and running before accepting orders, and having patrons waiting around for 60+ minutes for their food.2) once we received our order, it was the wrong order. As hungry as we were, we didn't even notice the kitchen threw chicken tenders on to our tray until we sat back down at our table. We ordered two orders of chicken wings, and never did we ask for chicken tenders. We weren't rude about bringing it up to their attention as we understood they were under pressure with so many orders on back order. It's just frustrating that we waited for over an hour for our food only to have it come out incorrectly. Mistakes happen and human error is real. I'm not blaming anyone -- I'm simply sharing our experience.3) finally, the chicken was overly battered. It took so much time to pick through the breading -- that it took away from the experience. And, it was drenched in way too much grease. I can generally handle grease but not when every bite just squeezes out an abundance of oil into your mouth. Yuck. I hope the owner(s) of this location take all this feedback as learning points. I absolutely love supporting small businesses but need to be honest in my critique so that you all could get better to do better. It will only help the restaurant thrive in the future. On a lighter note - the lady running the front of the house during our visit was very pleasant and remained composed the entire time we were there considering the pressure to getting multiple orders out after a power outage. One final thing to note as their hours are very specific so please check it online and plan accordingly before popping over for a visit.

Stopped in based upon reviews as we were passing through. It seems to be a locals place. Order at the counter from a very friendly, informative lady. The wait was 45-60 minutes, we were told the cook was running about an hour behind. The locals coming in didn't seem surprised by the wait time. There were many call ahead orders coming out. They do have a sign that says freshly prepared, please be patient. Everything is A La Carte My husband ordered a 200° breast quarter. It was good but a bit wetter than he cares for. Said the spice was good. We got baked beans, they were a little on the sweet side, potato salad, decent and fries, hot and fresh though a bit more cooked than I cared for but just how my husband likes them. Overall we thought it was ok but not just wow factor.

Not a fan of the sauces, but the fries and chicken tenders were delicious. Also tried the banana pudding, it was good but a little on the sweet side for my preferences. My son had the wings and the size and cooking were perfect but unfortunately he did not like the sauce it was tossed in so he couldn't eat them. He chose bbq sauce and we didn't like it because it had a vinegar taste. Overall the food was good!

The food was very good and fresh. First time trying hot catfish it was very good with the 100 degrees heat level and comes with mustard, pickles and on onions. On top of white bread. Not too spicy but just enough and was seasoned very well. The 200 degrees flavor is a big jump in heat from the 100 degrees. But was still very good on the chicken tenders. The service was very good and quick. The inside of the restaurant was very clean also. Definitely will be back when I visit Nashville again.

I ordered before realizing they were closing at 3pm. I didn't get there until after closing, but the ladies there said "no problem" I was met with smiles and the best hot chicken I've ever had. I live on the west coast and thought Hattie bs was amazing compared to the options in Seattle. Hattie's is still great and love their selection of sides, but this chicken is even better. I will be back next time I'm in Nashville!
