Great service and good food. It was a first but I will definitely have it again. The ambiance was really nice. You can tell that they care about their business.

I asked if the injera had wheat in it and said that wheat made me sick. He assured me the injera was 100% teff. That may be so, but evidently he didn't care if any other dish had wheat in it, and I stupidly didn't ask. Last night I had full on sweats, queasiness, and vertigo that continue to this morning until I did the epley maneuver. I will say that the food was delicious for those who are not sensitive to wheat. The ambiance is pretty basic.

I'm not the biggest fan of Ethiopian food, but my wife loves it and so when there's a place we go wherever we are. Despite me not being a big fan, Nafkot ranks up there amongst the others that we've had in DC and Va. the food tasted fresh and flavorful and what I really appreciated above other places we've been is they don't make the food "Ethiopian hot" automatically. Most places the Berbere spice is on 10 and most of the dishes are set to kill not stun; but Nafkot makes the food to a nice medium spice level and so I was able to eat everything on the family style platter. Parking was easy, pricing was reasonable and all in all it's a place I'll def bring my wife back to when we're in the area.

our family likes Ethiopian food. We had been to this particular restaurant almost 8 years back it was under a different name. At the time if my memory serves me right we did not really have a great experience especially as it comes to the taste of food. All that changed last week. the service was a tad bit slow as there was only one server managing 8-9 tables. we ordered the vegetarian platter and every single dish was exceptional. The portions were decent and their Shiro Wot was extremely good. Will definitely visit again .

After walking around for a few hours in Crabtree Mall, We suddenly felt like eating Ethiopian food for dinner, and Yelp reviews routed us to Nafkot. We had the vegetarian combo and an extra side of Shiro Wat.The food took a little time to arrive, but the flavors were on point. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the hospitality. They also have their special in-house ginger tea. Perfect for sipping the hot ginger water on a cold evening. They offer you a tea bag if you would like to have it as ginger tea. I had mine as is, as I loved it that way, and my husband loved his ginger water with the tea bag. Overall amazing and fresh food. We will definitely be back.

Wonderful food and friendly staff. The waitress was able to suggest options that worked around food allergies at our table. Will definitely come back the next time we want Ethiopian food.Prices are not in the menu. Since it's communal eating I think it's priced by how much of each dish is needed to feed your party. We ordered 2 appetizers, 1 beef and 1 chicken dish plus the vegetarian platter and without tip our bill was about $20 per person.

This was my first experience with Ethopian food. I met a friend there who likes this place a lot. She's vegetarian and I'm not so I asked the waitress for recommendations. She asked me a few questions and gave a few recommendations. I went with the Lega Tibs (beef with onions, tomatoes and bell peppers) and it comes with Injera (Ethopian bread). My friend mentioned that the Injera by itself doesn't really have a taste. However, using the Injera to scoop up my food and the juices gave the Injera a pleasant taste. I was more than pleased with my meal. Plus it was filling. We also had a pot of ginger tea. It came with lipton tea bags if we wished to use them (we didn't). We enjoyed the taste of the ginger tea and other spices. All in all, a great first experience. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu.

Delicious and authentic. I had the Doro wot and loved it. Don't expect American style service, but the food came out fast and the service was good.
