I came to buy Crawfish and the guys in the Seafood Dept. told me that the Crawfish hadn't made it there yet and to come back at 10am. I called around 10ish and a lady answered the phone. I asked her for the seafood dept and she said that they were busy. I told her that I needed to know if they had Crawfish yet. She immediately said No without even checking. I had to press her then she said that she would go and check. She got back on the phone and said that it will be there at 11am. I decided to run a few more errands to kill time. I called back at 11ish and she picked up the phone. I asked her if the Crawfish were there and she said No. I asked her was she sure because she works in the very front of the store and the Seafood is in the back. She said They dont have it and hung up in my face. I called back and the phone rand numerous times before she picked up. I asked her why she hung up in my face and that she was being very rude for no reason. I asked her to speak with someone in the Seafood Dept and she said they were in a meeting. I asked her again and she why multiple times before hanging up in my face again. I was upset so I went up there and asked for the manager and a lady pointed me in the direction of two ladies in the very front of the store when you walk in. I discovered that's where the phone was and that one of them was possibly the rude lady. I asked who answered the phone because I had called twice and was hung up on. I quickly realized which one of them it was due to her thick Vietnamese accent. I called her out and she said that she didn't talk to me nor received any calls. I asked the other lady who was the manager and she pointed to a guy that was a few feet away from them. The lady asked me what was the issue and I explained to her what happened. I looked on my phone and repeated the phone number and asked her if that was their # and she confirmed. The manager overheard me. So I tried to explain to him and he cut me off and said that he heard what I had said. The rudeness goes on.... He told me the Crawfish will be there after 12 and I could call back and check. I told him that the rude lady should not be answering the phone because she lacks customer service. He didn't seem to care nor seemed as if he would talk to her about her behavior.

This Vietnamese supermarket is okay. It is an older market and they have pretty normal prices. Some supermarkets that aren't big companies tend to be slightly overpriced. The meat section has pretty good pricing. I do worry about how fresh it is just because there's not a lot of foot traffic but I'm sure they meet Health codes... The supermarket is located in a smaller spectrum but is pretty easy to find parking. The one thing I dislike about this place is that they have people inside right before you enter or exit the supermarket that stops you and tries to tell you about God. They were speaking Vietnamese to me which I do not understand very well. I told her I didn't understand but she said, "it's okay, I understands English." But... that doesn't help because the point is I can't understand her! The one preaching! After 5 mins, I was able to make my getaway by saying thank you and that I'll read the English literature she gave me. I just wanted to get my food and go home to cook...

Vegetables are fresh, meats okay, but I like how they slice the meat for you if you ask, they also have fried fish which are good. They sometimes carry crabs; you will need to call in advance. They also have large fresh oysters, a sack will cost about $12. Their prices are reasonable and cheaper than 99 Ranch.

Way too many strikes for me to ever come back. 1. Price gouging. This grocery store completely jacked up the price to their groceries during Hurricane Harvey. We paid double, even triple what the price would have been normally. While others were out lending helping hands, these people were benefitting. 2. Spoiled meat in the moldy refrigerated section. It was questionable when I bought it, but since the butcher personally picked it for me, I didn't doubt him. The meat smelled rancid when I brought it home and I had to chunk it. 3. Moldy produce. As I was excitedly digging for Pennywort leaves, I noticed that the bottom of the barrel had mold. MOLD!!! Gross. What ever happened to "first in, first out"?! This makes me sad, as they've been around a long time. If they'd just tidy up a bit (like, a lot) and stop ripping people off during natural disasters, I may change my mind.

The comments on price gauging is false information. My Hoa is not price gouging. The sign was posted on wrong length of bread. It was supposed to be on the super long bread. We shopped here yesterday and they charged us all the normal pricing. Hate for this business to lose customers on false information. We like their bbq and we go here for quick groceries (ie bean sprouts, lettuce, cucumbers). Store could be cleaner I agree and some groceries could be fresher but never had issues with my bbq, bean sprouts, lettuce and cucumbers.

The cashier lady name: LUAN has the worst customer service at all time. Always has the poker face with customers. She was terrified to clean up the broken Balut.

This place is terrible, never encountered such a rude people and insincere! I bought 4 custard apples, $9 a pound, about $12-14 a piece, and non of them were edible! They were all yellow/brownish inside (supposed to be white). I called the store and the lady told me that "you bought it, it's yours, do whatever you want, we are not responsible for that" and rudely hung up the phone! I tried to call them back and of course, they didn't answer! Really?? Will never shop there again! They should shut down their business! No customer service at all whatsoever! That's why I hate shopping at the Viet's store! DON'T go there everyone! I think I should call public health department to let them know this market is selling spoiled stuffs!

The fish counter used to offer very good service. A good variety of fish and at fair prices. Plus they offer a free season-and-fry service. More recently, the service quality has dropped significantly. First, the fish seasoning is inconsistent - you never know if the spicy fried fish you ordered will come out tasting spicy or bland. Second, I suspect random over billing. In the same period the fish I paid $30 for was heavier than the fish I paid $43 for - and there was no change in fish price. The scale's screen is not visible to the customer so you pay what they tell you on trust. Third, I suspect that when they do the frying for you, they pinch some of your fish or change the fish you selected between the counter and the kitchen. Fourth, the store itself has a bad smell. My suggestion to management is pay more attention to business details - 1. End the smell. It's easy. Use baking soda and coffee grounds. 2. Make the scale screen visible to the customer. 3. Have a standard seasoning mix per lb of fish; charge for seasoning if necessary and 4. check and remove any "fish pinchers" from the kitchen.

The market itself is okay. I usually stop by for some quick light grocery shopping if I am missing some ingredients. Their prices are mostly reasonable. There are some items that are much cheaper if you go to other supermarkets in Chinatown, but with gas prices on the rise, you wouldnt be saving much to make it worth the drive all the way down there. This review is to make complain about a cashier that works here. I'm a regular customer so I have been here many times, and there is one cashier that has a really bad attitude all the time. There was one time when I was looking for something in the back of the store, and Huynh Quach had just came out from the restroom and I asked her where something was located. She just pointed in the direction to direct me where that item was location. She didn't open her mouth to say anything, and she seemed very annoyed that I had asked her. Instead, another customer had overheard me asking Huynh Quach, and the customer actually was kind enough to take me to go look for that item. If this customer was an employee of My Hoa, she has really good customer service, but Huynh Quach (the cashier that actually worked at My Hoa) always had a very poor attitude toward her customers. It is not difficult to just open your mouth and at least tell me what aisle I needed to look for what I was searching for, but she just had her mouth shut and annoyingly pointed in the direction that I should go looking. Huynh always a very bad attitude and she is not nice towards her Asian customers. I say this because I have seen her treat a Caucasian man, and a African American women really nice before. Probably because she knows that they are more likely to make a complaint on the web if they were to be treated poorly, than an Asian customer would. If I could avoid going to her cashier lane, I would because she is always very rude. But sometimes I went really early in the morning, and she was the only cashier there so I have no choice but to get into her lane. Not only is she racist, but she shouldnt be in a customer service position if she can't do her job correctly. I understand that this is a vietnamese supermarket, and training in customer service may not be as properly implemented, but I'm not asking for like 5 star customer service. At the bare minimum, at least greet your customers nicely and treat them with respect because they are your customers, and they are bringing in business that is paying you your paycheck. But Huynh Quach can't even meet the bare minimum in the customer service field. She needs to be reevaluated to see if she really suits this cashier position. Dont work in customer service if you cant even do the bare minimum.
