Mr. Sombrero

This was my first time at Mr. Sombrero, but a friend highly recommended it. I was joined by my husband and mother in law. My mother in law is notoriously picky and hard to please. The biggest endorsement I can give is that my mother in law said she loved this place and said we need to go here more often. I had the Norma dinner - one cheese enchilada, one tamale topped with enchilada sauce and cheese, a beef crispy taco, cheese puff, charro beans and rice. I noted that the taco was perfectly assembled and still crispy by the time it was served. I personally hate when I get soggy tacos but this one was great. The tamale was generous filled with meat and the enchilada was delicious. I enjoyed the charro beans and paid a little extra to switch from refried to charro, but I generally prefer charro. My mother in law loved the rice. My husband enjoyed the carnitas, and my mother in law enjoyed the enchiladas suizas

I will give it a five star this place is in my backyard and did not know. Loved everything about it except the coffee was terrible. But food and service was excellent. Highly recommended stop on by. I usually go to the the one in League City and its nice but food is kind of bland.

The host was a little weird when seating us, but the waiters were on point. I ordered the queso blanco with fajita. It wasn't too bad, it's Tex-Mex so you can't expect a super authentic Mexican style dish. For what it is, I'd be back to try them at least once more.

Really good TexMex. Shrimp and crawfish enchiladas. Fresh avocado. Delicious salsa. The very best charro beans. Service is quick and polite. Clean and cheerful atmosphere. Always good!

If you Re looking for GREAT TexMex food in Alvin, Mr Sombrero is the absolute best. Good fajitas, good chips and salsa, ice cold beer and margaritas is the recipe for a good TexMex place. Add great prices and friendly prompt service and you have GREAT.

I'd make the hour drive just to eat here again! I don't remember what my drink was called, it was some sort of peach concoction and had a wonderful flavor. The Beef Fajita Al Carbon are some of the best I've had in ages, I really enjoyed how it was chopped into nice little bites unlike the typical thick strips that can be hard to eat. A lovely char on each piece too! My mother ordered a chicken dish smothered in shrimp, crawfish and a white wine sauce. Absolutely delicious! The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the sauce weirdly addicting, definitely worth a try.

Food cooked to perfection, wonderful flavors, visually appealing. Service is fast and friendly. Order was accurate. Ambiance is delightful, a little dim but okay. Really enjoyed my lunch with the perfect combination of real restaurant style Mexican Food. love it. Oh the flan is dynamo too!!!

They took very good care of our family on this stormy day. Food was quick to the table and tasted good.Grandkids enjoyed their meal as well.Bar service a little slow but acceptable

Went for dinner and had not been to this location before. Decor is nice, good looking bar area. One of the reasons I love this restaurant is because I can get the molcejete. I got the Ranchero II and it was plentiful. My only negative comment was the food was luke warm but the flavors were on point. The chorizo is legit and rice and beans are great. Homemade tortillas and warm salsa rounded out yet another good experience! Husband had chile rellenos with shredded chicken. Service was attentive and professional. We will be back.

Horrible service from waiters, expensive and small portions. It was nicely decorated though and the host was very honorable and quick to help, lovely girl.
