Compared to their Mt Prospect location, the place is older, and could use a little refresher. Korean BBQ is by nature very easy to get oily/sticky inside (that's why I go out to eat this meal rather than doing it at home), and while the location didn't feel "dirty", it didn't feel "clean" either. Hope this makes sense. Food was very good - still loving their Korean chicken, thought that's technically not part of the BBQ. The marinated cuts of meats were on the sweeter side than I prefer, but yummy to the American tastebuds. Service was good. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. They also have Korean comic books at the entrance! Though we didn't have to wait for a table and I had no time to read anything.

I went to Mr Kimchi last night with my son. We had gone there several years ago when he got his Masters Degree. We decided to go there for a father-son night out - a special evening with a memory of the great time we had several years ago.We were surprised to see they are now "all you can eat." Neither of us were sure what to expect, but after the wonderful experience last time, we were excited to give it a try. We hadn't considered they might be under new ownership and things had changed. We arrived early, at about 5 PM, since we assumed there would be a wait on a Friday night. There is a Yelp check-in stand where you get on their wait list. I added us to the list and we waited for about 15 minutes before we were seated. There are two options, one with about 25 menu choices for one price, and for a little higher price, about 30 options. For the difference we went for all 30 (even though there were a few items we didn't have interest in). The main difference was there was no seafood on the smaller menu, nor were there intestines (which was fine by us...).First, they brought some appetizers - fish cakes, rice cakes, salad, kimchee, japchae, and a couple of other things. They were good - the kimchee was very mild but tasty. For the first round, and you can order up to three items at a time, we got brisket, kalbi, and pork belly. It came out quickly and the server put the brisket on the grill for us. We added the pork belly since it was rather thick and would take a while to cook. The brisket was not spiced at all but they serve rice and two dipping sauces - a mustard and a sesame sauce. They also have a salt shaker. It needed something so we found it went well with the sesame. The other meats, the pork belly and the kalbi were also served without spice so you do need to add something. Then, we tried the spicy tofu soup - that was one of two items that stood out. It wasn't very spicy but did have some heat. Then, we tried the shrimp and the bulgogi. The bulgogi was the other stand out item. The shrimp is served whole and cooks quickly on the hot grill. It is a little difficult to peel and devein after cooking but it was fine. My son was slowing down by that point but I wanted to try the chicken teriyaki and the spicy squid. The chicken was good, the squid was okay. That last serving out me over the edge. They also serve rice but if you want seconds, they charge you for more. The good - the service was really outstanding. The not so good - the quality of the meats has really gone down since our last visit. The all-you-can-eat angle probably brings in a lot of people, and certainly, with all we ate, it would have cost much more if we ordered a la carte. But in doing so, the restaurant has lost some of it's ambiance. If you want a lot of food for a reasonable price, by all means, Mr Kimchi is a good choice. If you want good Korean Barbeque and an authentic experience, maybe you should think about trying another place. Too bad.

We came on a busy night and it took ~20 mins to be seated after putting our name on the waitlist. The service was quick and friendly once seated, checking in on us and also explaining how to cook certain meats. The two party seats are all close together but seperated by an acrylic barrier. For bigger groups they have more space. I don't eat red meat or fish so we came here because I saw they had many chicken options. They had different seasoned chickens and my favourite was the garlic chicken. My boyfriend tried the pork belly and beef and was very happy with the quality. We also recommend the the veggie dumplings and soup! Will definitely be coming back to enjoy another meal on the next visit!

Everything comes out so fast and it's a great price. The brisket and thinly sliced pork belly is everything you need to keep coming out. I would recommend really looking over the price points between premium and standard and determining what you realistically would want. You'll need to cook it yourself but the seating is great because you have some privacy and space.

Basically, excellent meats and decent sides. We got brisket, different kinds of pork belly (garlic, onion, ginger), and pork shoulder. The fattiness, tenderness, thickness, and flavor of the meat were all on point. Garlic pork belly was our favorite of the pork belly options. I like the medium portion size they give you so that it's easier not to over order.Regarding the sides. Kimchi was bland. Jigae tasted store bought. Fried Chicken is not normally something you find at kbbq but we were curious. Skip it. Steamed egg, cheese corn, and white rice, however, were very good!Employees were on top of tending to our table but could be friendlier. Lots of seating for small to big groups.

This is a solid korean bbq place. My favorite part is the breadth of options available for appetizers and meats. Service is quite lacking though. Quality- my favorite here is the Cajun pork belly, egg casserole, Calbee, intestines, and Mr. Steak. All of these options are seasoned well and tastes fresh. The other meat options like the brisket, chicken, and soups are poorly seasoned or not cooked right. Im happy there's some good options here.Quantity- AYCE is worth it for the price here. Only 34 bucks for dinner and 25 bucks for lunch. Atmosphere- I like the seating available for parties of 6. Feels welcoming. Service- very slow. There's also no buzzer to get them to come here for more food. We waited like 10 minutes between rounds for them to come.

Food: we got the Premium AYCE that was $34.95. I definitely recommend getting the premium one because it is more worth it for the extra beef and seafood options available. The bulgolgi was surprisingly very tender and juicy. The Mr steak was tender but a bit over seasoned with pepper. The baby octopus was not cleaned very well so I had sand with every mouthful. But overall very good choices available and most meat were fresh and flavorful.Service: the service was very good, our server was very attentive and came by often to get our orders. Caveat is that you can order only three meats per round and have a two hour so you have to time the ordering right so you don't "waste" time. Ambiance: casual vibes

Service was great! Friendly and fast team! Meat was delicious -- did not need the premium; regular all you can eat would have been just right; unless you want seafood.
