Friendly service. Large selections on menu. Deli atmosphere. Size able portions. Loved the polish kielbasa.

Serving huge portions, Morry's has been serving the Southside for decades. I hadn't been in a long while and decided to revisit. I've been on a pastrami kick since having an amazing sandwich at Hershel's Eastside Deli Philly.They said addicts are constantly chasing the euphoric rush of their first hit, but it's impossible to duplicate. I'm beginning to wonder if HEDP ruined sandwiches for me. I've had respectable pastrami/corned beef sandwiches here in Chicago, but none nearly as good. Publican Quality Meats has perfectly cooked pastrami, but it's cold and not offered as a sandwich. Fumare's in The French Market is good, but can be dry and overcooked.Morry's is of lower quality than the aforementioned meat purveyors, but the sandwich will get the job done. Not a bad option by any means, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

9/8/2023---After 3 years of hearing my co-workers talk about this place, I finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it fell flat for me. Mostly because I'm a texture person, and if that's not a go, I can't. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Your food is made to order, which is a plus. There were 2 grilled chicken breasts worth the price. The downfall for me was that all the toppings made it soggy, and I just couldn't do it. I had to scrap the bread. The chicken breast lacked flavor. Honestly, I would give it another try and order something else. It appears to be a neighborhood favorite. There's always a steady flow of customers, and it's clean. There's metered parking, that I highly suggest you pay because the meter maids stay on their jobs.

So, looking at the reviews, you'll notice that some of them say "huge portions" some say "not enough". Now having eaten at a lot of Jewish deli's I can say their portions are about par-for-the-course. Overall, I found they were fairly priced, especially in Chicago where you should expect to pay more for a sandwich than probably anywhere else in a hundred mile radius. I got a pastrami, but I definitely thought the beef was much better overall.

The corn beef is very lean and just okay. I have had much tastier and better corn beef, when it is slow cooked at home. The sandwich did not fulfill my taste for a real, authentic corn beef sandwich. It tasted like processed meat.

Solid sandwich. Good meat portion, average bread, fairly priced. The macaroni and potato salad are really good in my opinion, which is why I gave the extra star.

I went here for lunch and had a corned beef sandwich. I was not impressed with the size of the sandwich or the taste. It just seemed too small a portion of meat for a $10-11 sandwich. Also, the beef was thinly sliced, and I prefer chunkier cuts. It just wasn't very good. As positives, the service was fast and the location is good for parking.

Been coming to Morrys since I was a little boy and lived down the street. Good fresh made sandwiches, and their pickles are thee best. Morrys is a Chicago staple, if you're in Hyde Park and want lunch, but mot subway, jimmy Johns, Pot Bellys...hit up Morrys and thank me later.

Delicious comfort food that has been around for decades! Located on 55th and cornell, Morry's Deli has great sandwiches and bagels. While waiting on your food, you can play the lottery too! A place where the staff is always familiar. It is a small restaurant with a few tables.

I thought I was gonna get authentic corned beef based on some of the reviews but this was just basic deli meat on mini rye bread. I never saw miniature rye bread until now so basically you're not getting a full sandwich. The sandwich was just ok but nothing for me to go out of my way for. The price was reasonable based on the size but I thought I was gonna get a more authentic sandwich.
