I first tried Morelia at the Sugar Land location and fell in love. I was really excited when the Rice Village location opened, It's much closer for me! The shop is very cute, has a bar with stools and a table for 2. When entering, we were welcomed and asked if it's our first time. She then introduced the new flavors, which were lime, oreo caramel cheesecake, and reese's peanut butter. My husband got the oreo caramel cheesecake - he really liked it. I got my usual Greek yogurt with berries - it's creamy, not too sweet & the pieces of berries mixed in the popsicle is such a unique addition. Banana nutella is another flavor that I've had a few times before - it's a filled popsicle with nutella inside. I would definitely recommend both. My nephew got a lime pop with milk chocolate dip and coconut flakes - he said it was good! Popsicle is $5.99, dipping and toppings are extra depending on what you get. It can get pricey if you add dipping & toppings. I prefer my popsicle as is, and enjoy every bite of it Also appreciate the high quality ingredients used, it makes a real difference! It's not a huge deal but we noticed the bar area was a little sticky. Other than that, overall a great experience.PS. If you sign up for their reward program, you'll receive a free paleta during your birth month. And they also occasionally send offers (free dipping, etc)

Tried this place out and it was pretty good. The pistachio paleta was very creamy and actually had good pistachio flavor. Can't give 5 stars cause they didn't have white chocolate dipping when I went (seriously? How can you be missing the main dipping flavor) and it's on the pricey side (about $9 for one dipping flavor and one topping)

My calendar said to go to Morelia Gourmet Paletas in Rice Village tonight. I didn't think of anything until I got here. I checked my email to find out the event was canceled. No problemo. I wanted to patronize this restaurant anyway. I haven't been to Rice Village shops during nighttime. The traffic was light, so did the street parking. I walked in to the restaurant and started to browse around. I was greeted by a friendly young lady. She answered a few dietary questions. I studied the website and few reviews beforehand. So, I am fairly familiar with the items. What caught my eyes was the Belgium Chocolate paleta. It had a deep chocolate color and indescribable sheen. When I tasted it, I can savor the premium chocolate melting in my mouth. Extremely smooth and delightful. I could tell the fresh ingredients made this popsicle to the highest level in the dessert category. I had it with white chocolate dipping and pistachio topping because I was following the sign: PICK IT, DIP IT, TOP IT. After finishing it, I decided to get another one plain because I want to really taste the popsicle for its ingredients. My second one was the No-Sugar Pineapple Mint Paleta. There was no sugar at all. The pineapple juice made it naturally sweet and the mint added a hint of freshness to the popsicle. While there were no prices on the menu nor receipts were given, I asked about each item. All paletas are $6.49 each. Except for the Pupsicles (for dogs) at $3.99 each. Topping and dipping are $1.25 each. Yes. They sounded expensive but the gourmet ingredients surpassed the price tags in my opinion. Yes. I would return. Since it's a block away from Cat Boarding by Nourish, I can come over after I drop off my cat when I go on vacation.wa

this place was good. It reminded me a lot of the now closed Steel City Pops in the Heights (RIP) which was my favorite dessert concept ever. This could be great but missing something Service was honestly real bad lol I go with the flow in situations like this but it was almost appalling. it was dead inside. We walked over from dinner around 7pm on a Sunday. The woman working was super unfriendly and made it hard to want to ask any questions We ended up getting two popsicles with dip and toppings, for about $13~ when you check out you see it's $5.99 per popsicle, and $1.10 for any dip, and $1.10 for any topping +good dessert option for the area +fruit popsicle you could tell was real fruit - price is not transparent anywhere on any of the signage - customer service was horrible - I'd like to see a little variety in the popsicle flavors and toppings

I was having dinner next door one night and noticed they opened a new Paletas place in Rice Village.. so weekend rolls around and I suggested paletas as an after dinner dessert since they open late! I believe until midnight, which is unheard of for most places in Rice Village. We came in and immediately, I was like "Where are the true authentic Hispanic flavors?!" You pick your flavors as you enter and you can add dip and toppings as you make your way around front to the register. I was looking for flavors like rice, coconut, horchata, etc but they just didn't exist. I settled for the next best thing, strawberry cheesecake was the pick of the night.. the fiancé did a banana Nutella and a caramel of some sort. The girl suggested I dipped mine in white chocolate and add graham cracker frosting on top. Mine came out just alright.. not much pow to the flavor and it ended up just not tasting like anything after awhile. It just wasn't worth the extra calories. I can't say the paletas were creamy; nor flavorful, or even good. My toddler declined it and the fiancé threw his away. What a disappointment. Can't say we'd be back, though the idea of a good ice cream shop in Rice Village was very appealing. This one just didn't hit the mark.

We came here for the grand opening so they did offer free ice cream! We only had to pay for the dip and toppings if we wanted them. The staff was very helpful and informative about their most popular flavors and which ones they like the most. They were very busy and the little store was very packed for the grand opening but the staff had a smile on the whole time and were extremely pleasant! We tried the pistachio, chocolate hazelnut cookies and cream, mixed berry/Greek yogurt, and vanilla bean! All of them were so delicious and you could definitely tell they were gourmet! These Paletas are a bit on the pricier side since it's about $5.99 per paleta and then $1.10 per dip and topping. Definitely worth it if you are in the mood to splurge on some sweets! I will be back to try the fruit based paletas next time!

We went for the grand opening and it was slammed but the entire team was helpful and quick. The ice cream was surprisingly creamy and decadent. I had the Dulce de lech with cookie butter and sprinkles and it was so rich i could have used a glass of water. The inside is your typical ice cream shop but had a cute día de los muertos decoration at the main counter.

I screamed when I saw that Morelia's opened here. I have always loved this store very much ever since I tried them in south Florida. The palettas are delicious and this flavor is my go to, especially dipped in white chocolate. Their flavor collection is fantastic (try the strawberry cheesecake too) and the fruits they use taste fresh. They have a big collection of different chocolates and flavors to dip into. One of my absolute favorites!

Intro: After dinner in Rice Village on a weekday, I was still a little hungry, so we stopped by Morelia Gourmet Paletas - Rice Village for dessert. Morelia is in the heart of Rice Village, close to a bunch of restaurants, bars, and shops. Your best bet is parking in one of the parking garages close by---the first two hours are free. Ambiance (4.5/5): Morelia is a small dessert spot which makes it more of a grab-and-go type of place. There are two tables outside and a counter inside where you can stand and eat. That's about it. You order at the counter, they make your dessert right then and there, and then you're on your way. Morelia is clean and what you would expect from a spot of its kind.Service (4.5/5): If you've never had a paleta before, you may have some questions. Especially since everything is customizable at Morelia. They have a menu as you approach the counter that explains the concept and what your options are. The guy working when I was there answered my questions too so that's another option for you to get everything you need before you place your order.Food (4.5/5): A paleta is a Mexican frozen treat (somewhat similar to a popsicle) that is made from fresh fruit or rich creamy ingredients like chocolate. This is your base. Morelia has a bunch of paletas to choose from. Once you select your base, you can further customize your paleta with various toppings like Oreo crumbles or sauces like dulce de leche or chocolate sauce. You get charged for each addition you add to your paleta. Since there are a ton of options, make sure to check their menu to see all that you can choose from. I went with the dulce de leche paleta with Oreo crumbles and cookie butter drizzle. They serve it to you on a little disposable platter because things can get messy. It was awesome trying something new! Think of this as a much more elevated version of a popsicle. Drinks (N/A): Paleta only for me on this visit. Overall: If you've never had a paleta, or you love opportunities to customize to your heart's content, give Morelia Gourmet Paletas a try. It makes for a different experience than grabbing ice cream for dessert.
