Food and drinks will have me coming back time and time again. Margarita flight for $15 ( their pear is delicious ). Nice place with friendly clientele.

When I asked friends about their favorite local Mexican place, Monterrey was named by more than a few of them, so my husband and I were quick to pay this restaurant a visit. Inside, the restaurant is divey but in a good way. There's a full bar with stools and plenty of tables and booths toward the back, along with outdoor patio seating. We were seated in a booth and chips and salsa landed on our table moments later. We also ordered guacamole on a whim, and our server asked, "Chunky?" with a tone that suggested that was the proper way to go. She was right. The bigs chunks of avocado in Monterrey's version of guacamole tastes fresher, with a generous spritz of citrus. It was hard not to eat our way through the large basket of chips before our entrees arrived, not only because our apps were tasty, but also because our food much arrived faster we expected. The husband ordered the Acapulco Cheesesteak from the lunch specials menu (which is - happy note - offered on Saturdays!). I wish I could tell you how it tasted but it disappeared down his gullet before I could ask for a bite, so I suppose that's saying something. I chose the flautas from the dinner menu, which was teeming with food. The flautas are enormous and generously filled with chicken or pulled pork. Though satisfyingly crunchy, I found they really needed the accompanying sour cream, veg, and guacamole sauce (and perhaps even a few splats of hot sauce) to really jazz up the flavor because they didn't have a ton on their own. Service was extremely fast at the start but a little slow toward the end. Our waitress was difficult to find when we were ready for our check, so we had to flag down another of her colleagues. But another way to look at it is that customers aren't rushed out at the end of their meal here. ...which is important because after a meal of this size, you're probably going to want to sit for a good few minutes to digest anyway.

We love everything about Monterrey! Great food and drinks and upbeat service. They have been making some improvements to the interior and exterior of the restaurant and it's really looking good!

I have been searching for the best Birria tacos in ATL and these are up there... Consume is very thick and rich and the crunch of the taco shell is the best. Must try these!! They seemed short staffed but it wouldn't keep me from coming back!

We decided to try some place new close to home. Their menu is huge. Everything on the menu looked delicious. What we ordered looked just like the menu and didn't disappoint.

New favorite local Mexican spot! Was craving some good casual Mexican food on a Sunday night, and saw some good Yelp reviews on Monterrey so I thought why not!? Tons of parking and from the parking lot, we could tell how lively and busy this place is even on a cold Sunday night. We were immediately seated on their enclosed patio area. Our server was pleasant and quick. We ordered margaritas, and they were delicious. I ordered the chicken chimichanga and my partner ordered the Monterrey quesadilla. We both couldn't say enough good things about our meals! The chicken was so flavorful and seasoned well. All the veggies and rice and beans were seasoned and cooked well. No complaints here! I really enjoyed this spot, and will definitely be back (maybe for Thursday bingo night!)!

Food was AMAZING and QUICK! The server Leo was EXCELLENT!! One of the best servers I've ever had! Really great food and establishment!
