Came in for the first time on a Saturday for brunch. The place does not take reservations for parties less than 6 people. So we just showed up and waited a bit for a table. The place actually isn't very large. Inside is nice and cozy. There seems to be more outside seating than in.Service - Derrick was nice enough. He said all the things we ordered were the most popular items, so he didn't have any additional insight on the best things to eat. He also declined to share about the origins of the business, but did point us to some signage on the wall about the owners. Food - we ordered cauliflower wings - buffalo sauce for the table. Just the right amount of kick. I think the breading may need some work, but overall, solid. Next, I got Hot Honey Shrooms & Waffle. It's literally the same as their Chi'ken Fried Shrooms and Waffle. Except it has the hot honey on the side. The shrooms were a little salty for my taste on their own. But paired well when eating the waffle and shrooms in the same bite together, the sweet and salt balanced out. Love supporting Black owned business, they seem to be doing well

Came her after a doctor visit in med center and was famished. We had the option to sit indoors or outdoors and it was a beautiful day so we sat outside. The patio area is beautifully shaded and there are fans throughout which help provide a nice breeze. Servers and staff are very friendly. I ordered a latte and got the Johnny Nash Sweet Potato Hash (got the brussel sprouts grilled instead of fried) as well as a side of sausage. Overall the food was good. It took a long time to come out, despite not being very crowded (about 1hour and we only ordered just the one dish), so not sure what the deal was with that. This is a good place to come if you're just wanting to hang out, chat with friends, and have no place to be. They do have cocktails and other alcoholic beverages but we didn't try these this visit . Gluten free/celiac notes: the menu does have a few gluten free options, however many of them are fried in a shared fryer with gluten containing foods. If you are highly sensitive or have celiac I'd probably recommend avoiding these foods. There is really only one main dish which is gluten free, so not great variety for restrictive GF diets.

Found this place walking around the museum district and it was PACKED! On a Saturday brunch, we decided to wait for another time to visit. We came this past Saturday awaiting another long line but were pleasantly surprised to be seated almost right away! The place is small and quaint, it was packed and lively but not overcrowded. Now my plate was fantastic. The hash and the sandwich were delicious. And there were many things we'd like to come and try. Not a big fan of them gumbo, definitely lacked flavor. Overall a great place and I will be coming back to explore the rest of the menu

I met up with a colleague for a chat. I had already eaten so I ordered the gumbo to go. I ate it about 10 hours later one I got home (it was refrigerated) and was super impressed! I added a dash of gumbo filet, onion powder, and Cajun seasoning just to taste but it was well seasoned already, just a personal preference. I wasn't crazy about the sausage but overall you couldn't tell me I wasn't eating meat. I would order this again in a heartbeat. As far as the restaurant, we ate on the patio. It was nice outside but I wouldn't recommend if you're hoping to have a peaceful meal or conversation because it's right next to the metro railway. Not a huge inconvenience but we did have to adjust to it.Our server was attentive and stopped by regularly to check on us. I do look forward to coming back and bringing some friends.

My husband and I dined here this past weekend while visiting our grandchildren and let me tell you I was thoroughly impressed. I'm always nervous taking my husband to an all vegan place because he is not vegan. But he said this is our new spot when we come to visit and well worth the drive from Cypress area. First when we sat down our waitress Justice (I believe) already knew what we wanted. Second lavished us with a free grits flight because of a mix up in the kitchen and baby I never had anything so good even before I was vegan. Then my husband had the smokehouse grill burger which he kept asking was it vegan, and I had the crab gumbo with lions mane mushrooms and a milkshake both were excellent. So needless to say if you looking for some good food, whether you are vegan or not you have to try this place.

This restaurant is AWESOME. Black owned. 100% vegan. DELICIOUS. It's not every day that you stumble upon a 100% vegan restaurant that isn't just a whole bunch of nuts and leaves lol. I was genuinely shocked at how good it was. I got the hot honey shrooms waffle, and let me tell you, if someone put this in front of me and didn't tell me what it was, I would've assumed it was chicken! It was fried to perfection, not greasy at all, seasoned very well. The hot honey syrup was everything. And the best part was the waffle! It was soft and fluffy, but also had a nice cinnamon touch to it that wasn't even mentioned on the menu description. I had this dish about a week ago and I have not stopped talking about it since haha. They also had a great cocktail list! I got the G-Funk which was a (very) spicy fruity drink and I loved it. Service was great as well, very helpful and laid back. I really liked it. The restaurant is also set up sort of like a little treehouse. It's very cute in there! Cannot WAIT to come back with all my friends and family! 100000/10!

Dang, I wished I lived in Houston so I could come here more often. Derrick was awesome and very helpful as we ordered a few different items and provided some recommendations for us, detailed below:1. Oat milk hot chocolate: so creamy, foamy and chocolatey all at the same time. Will definitely get again, especially at only $4. 2. Spinach and artichoke dip: incredible flavor and depth, creamy and had good chunks of spinach and artichokes. The chips that came with this had a great seasoning also. 3. Three taco plate: ordered one of each flavor. -Egg and sausage: good, standard classic. -Truffle hash: good, flavor was complex and savory. -Hot honey Shrooms: amazing, best taco I've had in my life. The others were good, but this was NASA level out of this world. 4. Coltrane Croissant: very good. I ended up taking off the tomatoes because it was flavorful without those. I'm not typically a huge fan of beyond/impossible burgers, so I would have boon okay without that, but the egg and cheese and croissant was incredible. 5. Gumbo: didn't have enough room to try this at the restaurant, but I wish I did because it smelled great. I ate it the next day for lunch and it was AMAZING! Highly recommended.

Im not a vegan but I do enjoy their food. I've been here a few times and really like their setup, particularly their patio area. Parking is limited tho. I've had their Motown Monte, and I love a good Monte Cristo but this one wasn't as sweet as id like it to be. But the breakfast quesadillas was spot on! The service is great as well.

I tried the Cajun Croissant and it was delicious. The spices and sauce complemented the rice very well. Their lavender latte was also very good. I came here on a weekday and there was plenty of seating and the service was amazing. It was definitely very chill and calm because it was not a weekend though! If you go on the weekend be prepared for a long wait that is definitely worth it!
