My kids wanted to play pool while we were here. They ended up loving it and we went 3 times. They got pretty decent rates. We played at least 2 hours each time and I don't think we payed more than $20. They have snacks and ramen you can buy.

Pretty legit pool place. Been around forever and I've been coming here with different friends for almost a decade. Average price and def much cheaper than slick Willie's or dnb. Outside drinks allowed for a small fee.Good lighting of the sun is down but decent lighting if not. Five pool tables and two snooker tables. Good cues to use. Probably fifty percent at this point but sooo many available. More than needed for all tables.Used to have a lot of smoke but I think they got busted so no more smoke! Also if u wanna play some mahjong...

Large spacious pool hall, inexpensive, but availability of alcohol (beer or otherwise) TBD (they did not have anything other than soda/water/Asian teas at the time). Some of their cues were broken, but overall most cues were good quality. Decent enough. However, they did not have many different sizes of pool cue. All of them were the same size, which made it harder for some shorter people I was with.Additionally, the entire place smells like cigarette smoke despite signs everywhere saying NO SMOKING, so they're probably violating some kind of business requirement to smoke indoors anyways. NBD but hey man, follow your own rules.

Just left after giving my son his first pool lesson. The price is right, $10/hr and we played for less than 2 hours for$16 on an afternoon that was too hot outside. We found the facilities fine. Enough good quality cues, plenty of chalk and tables. The owner even helped me at the end give a small adjustment to my left handed son. No pressure to buy drinks. We'll be back. The major criticism is that despite the signs, it smells of cigarette smoke and people came in and started smoking next to us while they played--ash trays are available despite the signs.I am willing to put up with this issue for the great price and convenient location. (Smoke does not hang in the air or burn your eyes like in olden days and I doubt the smell will ever go away, but bars are worse)It is not fancy but functional.

Parking is a pain most nights due to the high density of restaurants and clubs. Overpriced drinks. $3 for 16.9 oz soda. Despite the no smoking signs and City of Houston ordinance, some patrons smoke and staff does nothing about it. This made it our first and only trip.

They have a lot of table and a friendly staff. If you're looking for something to do late at night, MJs is open late and is relatively cheap at $10/hr. Thy have enough tables for a lot of people and they have two different types of game tables for different games. If you ask, they have gloves which they can lend to you for free!! This is a great place to take friends. They do allow people to smoke or vape so if anyone has asthma, be careful. But late night fun!!

It's cheap pool but you'll have to endure through the reeking smog of smoke in the air. At $9/hr and in a popular area of Chinatown this easily becomes a hangout spot to play some pool and kick back. I noticed they do have some snacks like ramen in the back. They only accept cash- no card. Also, the toilet in the girl's restroom has a 3 feet splash zone when you flush.

Named after Michael Jackson, obviously.I'd give 5 stars if not for all the smoke which is the reason we hardly come here. However when it comes to good pool at good rates and late night fun and games in Chinatown, there aren't many better places than MJ, located right above Giau which is another amazing late night spot full of sexy fun.

Love this place. I have had tons of fun playing pool and hanging out with friends here. They have some snacks and drinks as well which makes it hard to leave. People on here complain about smoke smell, but if we are being honest; any pool hall especially an Chinese owner is going to smell of cigarettes. Having been to china as well I know that smoking is hugely a part of everyday life there. And people want to talk smack on Mj because of the smell? Even if someone has smoked while you are playing, you should expect it. I have a buddy that works there and they are all super cool. Traveling tomorrow to Houston actually and am definitely stopping by after the airport. Super excited!!

This place is cool to chill with your friends, and have a good time, but there was one problem that I had which really didn't sit well with me. I went there one occasion with my Asian friends, and it was coo, everything was smooth. However when I came in there with my black friends we were asked for our ID's which was really unprofessional in my opinion, since we were the only people that had to give out ID's when everyone else in the pool house did not. I'm really not the type to just call someone a racist since it's a huge accusation, but I really think this is Lowkey racism. I kinda get it though because maybe some black people have ran off without paying, but we came there another time and still asked for our ID's. Probably will find a new pool house or sum, but yeah not that bad of a place other than that!
