I stopped into Mister P's, conveniently located in the Ivy Ridge shopping center expecting great pizza. This joint came highly recommended by an ex-New Yorker who frequents the establishment. Mister P's is clean, has plenty of seating, and is cozy enough. The menu impressed me with its variety of pizzas, hoagies, wings, salads, appetizers, and more. The staff was friendly and eager to make me feel at home, which is something I appreciate.I ordered a slice of margherita and went for the gusto with the appetizer sampler, costing just over $20 total. I took my order to go and decided to be more thorough with my reviews from now on. While I waited less than 15 minutes I watched the family that owns the establishment spending time playing with their children and conversing; it was heartwarming, to be honest. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, as was the dining room. On my way out, one of the ladies even got up to hold the door and wish me a good evening. I definitely felt welcome, which is very important to me. I stuffed the food into my insulated bag to keep it hot.Once home, I unpacked my meal and saw that the portions were generous and looked great. The pizza had a tasty sauce and I can't really complain about the quality, but it's facing stiff competition in this town. The crust was slightly more crunchy than crispy and just a little tough. The toppings were definitely average quality.The sampler came with mozzarella sticks, fries, onion rings, chicken tenders, and spicy wings with a side of marinara. The chicken was overdone, as well as the fries. Not burnt... just dry. I have to admit that the mozzarella sticks were kind of enormous in a good way; they stole the show. I'm happy to report that the onion rings were similarly crispy and flavorful.I have to comment that while the establishment was clean and well-lit, it lacked any kind of character or ambiance. There weren't any other diners and there was a decidedly Subway feel to the place. The price was decent, the people lovely, and portions good... but Mister P's is an average establishment, in my humble opinion as a ravenous foodie who craves food adventures.It's hard to recommend this pizzeria with Tony Romi's located just across Domino Street. The people were lovely, but there are better options nearby.

Wonderful pizzeria and here's why...super super clean, table and decor?? Best I've seen in a Italian pizza joint. Rustic wood decor, with beautiful artwork and comfortable seating. This place is a Roxborough neighborhood staple. My dear friend Dee introduced me to it.First, it's not "destination dining," though I think you'd be hard pressed to find any place in Roxborough that deserves that particular appellation. It's in a strip mall so there is no beautiful antique bar or trendy art work. Whenever I'd come here with Dee, though, this place always reminded me of where one would go for a family celebratory treat kind of meal-like if one of the kids got a good report card or someone made the softball team. Dee used to take her late mother here once a week after they both got mani/pedis. When my 22 year old long haired Flame Point cat died in her sleep, Dee immeditely drove to my house, bundled me into her car and brought me here. We did not mention the cat's passing but being in a friendly place was a tremendous comfort. When our server saw tears running silently down my cheeks, God love her, she came over with a bagged, boxed piece of cheesecake and whispered to me that she hoped this would cheer me up. Only in Philly.You'll find standard American/Italian food at Mister P.'s. The menu is enormous. Service was always friendly, fast and accommodating. I've had their 14 inch pizzas, their strombolis, calzones, Italian hoagies, meatball sandwiches (divine!), pasta fagioli, jumbo shrimp platter, plain old green side salad, their cannolis and so much more that I can no longer recall. I can say honestly that I never had a bad or unsatisfying meal and after my first visit here, I was always treated like a regular. When our server learned on my first visit that I had just moved back to Philly after a long stay on the West coast, she went out of her way to welcome me back and included 4 gratis cannolis to go along with the check for my first dinner at Mister P's. Portions are very large and it was never unusual for the 2 of us to take home enough leftovers for at least 2 more meals after dining here. While the decor is nothing memorable or Instagram worthy, the restaurant as well as the restrooms were always spotless and we were never given sticky menus. If that sounds weird, then you have never eaten at a place that does not give their plastic coated menus a good, thorough wipe down-front and back at the close of business day.You can go to Fiorella, Fiore, Via Locusta or any number of places in Center City, East Passyunk or South Philly for very fine, "authentic" Italian cuisine but I doubt you'll be served and treated with the same warmth and caring we always found here.

Today I wanted the lasagna and garlic knots. Boy was I disappointed The food just was as tasty as before as if they changed seasoning. I'm not sure but I'm certain it was tastier otherwise I wouldn't be here. Also the garlic knots were a bit over cooked. The service is great, both young ladies are polite and professional. Needless to say I wasn't a happy camper. If they changed ingredients, spices or seasoning then they should go back. I won't return for tasteless lasagna. I'll pass. Oh the sodas are basically 2 bucks but if you go to Target you can safe some pennies. I'm thrifty so I got my beverage there.

Favorite pies are the taco pizza and mushroom (they use fresh mushrooms, not the canned type).The cheesesteaks here are some of the best in the city, and some of the biggest in size that I have ever come across. Don't waste your time going to that tourist trap Dalessandro's, hit up Mister P's for your next cheesesteak! The Mister P's steak is my favorite. It has taken us a year too long to write this review, but here goes. This restaurant is the most consistent place we have in the area - hence the reason we order so consistently!Food wise, we typically get a normal cheese pizza. The ratio of cheese, sauce and dough is perfect! Cooked with just enough crispiness, it is our go-to Friday night dinner. When we decide to venture, we also aren't left disappointed. They make a great turkey sub, the Alfredo is delicious, and so is their gnocchi with blush sauce. Do yourself a favor, and order a half dozen garlic knots to top it all off! Environment wise, I can't say much as we normally order take out. However, the interior is just what you would expect from a pizza den. The customer service in the restaurant is good, and the staff really seem to work cohesively. I'm not sure if it's the manager or owner of this location, but we are always greeted by a friendly gentleman spinning pies when we walk in. When we order delivery, they come straight to our door with the food. Overall, this is a great little spot and we recommend to everyone to give it a try, especially if you like great food/pizza!

Mr. P's has consistantly good pizza and pasta. When I'm feeling lazy and want a homecooked style meal- I order from Mr. P's and pick up some pasta w/meatballs. Yaaas it's delicious. Their pizza is out of this world good too. They have slices that are relitively inexpensive and great garlic knots.
