"This was right across the way from our hotel. Recommend reservations on the weekend, it gets packed. Nice holiday decorations in a rustic decor. A unique experience as there is never a dirty table, bussers are cleaning and clearing tables as soon as someone leaves. This includes help from a manager who is not afraid to get her hands dirty and help out and direct her staff. We were there for a Saturday night prime rib special and we like that we could get a small 10 oz. since we weren't too hungry. Baked potato was delicious as well. I think it was a broccoli cheese soup I had that I enjoyed. Service was great too."

"One word. DELICIOUS!! Everything we had was outstanding. Stuffed mushrooms, gouda burgers, prime rib with garlic mashed and asparagus, lobster rangoon and stuffed shrimp. All were perfectly cooked. The service was great as well! It isn't a large restaurant and even though people were packed in on Christmas Eve, we were able to maneuver around just fine. My 100 year old grandmother was even able to move around okay. There isn't a large waiting area, so that was a little difficult to deal with while waiting for a table to open up, but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. I'm sure we'll be back soon!"

"Such a beautiful spot on the lake with just as great food and drinks! We got a nice seat by the water and enjoyed our cocktails and appetizers. I started with the spicy margarita, and this was one of the better ones I've had! So fresh with a nice kick to it. I also had the rhubarb rosé, which was an interesting refreshing spritz. We got the oysters and mussels to start, and both were huge! The oysters were the biggest I've seen and still super fresh tasting. The mussels were in the most delicious spicy sausage broth. We were so full after just the appetizers but also had the fish fry- this cod was so tenderly flakey and of great quality. My Caesar salad was a little too drenched but everything else was spectacular. Loved this cute place!"

"Work took me to Grand Geneva Resort and Spa this week. Craving for steak, checked out Chophouse. Atmosphere was very romantic with a perfect lighting overseeing the Lake. My server was Danielle, she was awesome and make good recommendations. Started with Lobster Bisque, wished the serving was bigger, LOL. Wagyu was only 6oz but packed with flavor and instantly melts in your mouth, followed by Foie Gras, which was amazing and very fatty. Not your everyday meal but it was so good. I finished off with the chocolate blackberry cake. Overall, meal was excellent and worth a return trip."

He paid special attention to detail and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were attended to, especially as we were trying to organize the luncheon from out of state. The servers and bartenders who helped us were also lovely. The food and drinks were delicious and the menu has a nice variety. The event room was beautiful as was the bar and restaurant area. The space has high ceilings and a lot of natural light. We are so grateful for the recommendation to use Apis and would use them again and again without hesitation. "This is my 5th trip to Prime Quarter in 6 years and I am so glad this place survived. Please keep it going. For those of you not familiar, I'm going to give you the low down. You have roughly 3 price points. $31, $33, and $40 for a steak dinner. For $31 you pick your own and cook it yourself on the grill. For $33, Chef Josh will cook it for you. For $40 you split one steak with you dinner mate but you each get AYCE salad bar, baked potato, and Texas toast. They don't currently have appetizers but you really don't need them. To accompany your steak, you can also order a side of sautéed mushrooms and onions or burgandy button mushrooms. They have dessert but you will not have room for dessert. Be prepared for leftovers. This location reopened in early September 2021 after being shut down for 18 months. Go. Let's keep it open. As I mentioned earlier, chef Josh cooked for us. Our server, Bailey, took care of everything else. Love love love it. Good char on the steaks. It's like the American peoples version ofKorean BBQ except come together over the pit to grill unless you pay $2 extra bucks for their chef to do it. Steak Options. You pick your steak from the cooler if you cook ($31 option). If having chef cook it, they pick for you. I had the 24 oz. prime rib and it was a great cut and cooked the way I wanted. Smothered in aus jus and a side of horse radish made this meat disappear pretty quick. I had the soup of the day which wasn't anything special and a baked potato which also hit the spot. Nice ambience."

"Friday night Buffett $32, but has crab legs. Seems like a good price, the legs were decent size (not those tiny ones that other buffets have). I also noticed that the crab was always well supplied, even when large groups came through the buffet line. My group decided to forgo the buffet and order off the menu. I had the BBQ Ribs and my wife had the Seafood Patter. I though the ribs were okay, good flavor but a little on the smaller side. My wife's Seafood Patter was excellent! I got to taste all of the different seafoods (shrimp, haddock and scallops) and I thought they were all really good. I would definitely recommend this meal, and would come back to have it again. The bar was busy and the two bartenders did their best to keep up with the diner crowd. Little bit of wait for drinks. Service in the dinning area was great. When we were seated at our table we were quickly greeted by our waitress. Once we ordered our food we visited the salad bar and our entries came out quickly after we finished the soup and salad. Dishes were cleared quickly and we had multiple check ins by the friendly staff to see if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our food. 5 star service!"

"It's hard to make a go of fine dining Janesville. People in Janesville don't like to pay high prices for food, and when they pay high prices and it's not amazing they get a bad taste in their mouth so to speak. That's how I felt about my experience here. I rarely order risotto unless it comes recommended. It's a very delicate and time-consuming dish to make. This risotto was such a disappointment. It wasn't tender and creamy and it was more thick like a porridge and had a Smokey flavor. Chilean sea bass is my favorite fish and I ordered that. The presentation was nice and it had a light orange sauce. The Seabass could've been cooked about a minute or maybe two more and it would've been so much better. I paid way too much for the quality I got.The atmosphere was nice ... a bar that seats about 15 and a small dining room. Parking is easy - plenty of room in the back. Janesville needs more nice dining places, and it makes me very sad that I can't recommend this one."

All appeared fresh and those we selected were both fresh and flavorful.This turned into a great Friday night out. Our only sour note was the talk at the four-top next to ours was audible discussion of health care problems that seemed to be a one-up man's contest. But, management has no control over that."

I was so happy to see this classic restaurant was BAAACK!!!My sister was a bit nervous with the crowd but the seated tables and booths were spaced out nicely. We had a great experience and my sister was glad she came.Service was exceptional. They were very short staffed and I could see everyone pitching in. Our server was so sweet and helpful. She was working the room like a pro and always made time to give us personal service. Bravo to her!Our food was fantastic. It was better than ever. The portion sizes were very generous and the recipes were fantastic. The mojos were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Our table enjoyed Chicken Parmigiana, Spaghetti, Lasagna and Gnocchi with meatballs. The homemade vinaigrette on my house salad that came with my entree is so good I wanted to buy some to take home.I love everything about Fireside Restaurant. "I really think this place is underrated. Our friends go there often and know the servers. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few cocktails before dinner. I had an old fashion. It tasted good but was a weird color It was pretty read and they did not muddle it. However we started off with soup. I had the chicken dumpling and it was the best I ever had. The others in our group had creamy broccoli and they all enjoyed it. I had the Greek salad. Loved the salad dressing. The others had the fried chicken. It was crispy, juicy and flavorful. My friend did say you have to know what to order. I do think the menu is way too big. Cut it down and quality would be better on all food. Service was good. We will definitely be going back to try other things."

The anchovies was the saving grace for this salad. Caprese Salad - could have used more basil.Sides: Lobster Mac n Cheese - outstanding! A little pricey but one of the best things we had this night. Asparagus - When I see it's grilled I expect crispy tops, these felt like they were kissed by the grill. Main: Dry Aged Rib Eye with Bleu cheese topping - This was great! Cooked perfectly, seasoned well, tender. 10oz Filet with wild mushrooms - wifey said it was outstanding, cooked and seasoned well. The mushrooms were good but they were marinated button mushrooms... not the wild mix we would expect.Overall Experience: Our server Addie was amazing. Especially given the waitresses did it all... get drinks, take orders, bus tables... she was able to provide awesome service. The bar selection, for me, horrible. Beer selection was 2 Macro beers and 2 Lakefront beers. Bourbon selection, Woodford and something else I don't remember... nothing for me. My wife enjoyed the wine selection though.Would we go back? We parked out front on the street but then discovered that the entrance was actually in the rear. The exterior is nicely decorated, but was out done by the interior. The ambiance and decor was very inviting and kind of gave a speakeasy feeling. My son ordered the 22 oz Ribeye and a side lobster tail. Overall, the food was delicious and the service is impeccable. We will definitely be returning. Oh, and we really appreciate that they comped my son's meal as a way of thanking him for his military service. Big thumps up!!"

Our server took our order after a little while and she kept coming back apologizing because there was an issue in the kitchen and the food was not ready after what felt like 45mins. And she was visibly stressed and mortified. The system was down, being the main problem that night.In spite of it, the food was great. It's an old-school supper club that seems to need some updates starting with their website (the latest post is from 2022). Their customer service needs improvement, as well.Their banana cream pie was the highlight of my Diamond Jim's experience."
