"I have been to this restaurant a few times, and every time, I have had a good experience. Blufish serves excellent Japanese food with good variety and delicious flavors. It is an upscale, elegant establishment that is a great part of Vernon Hills' restaurant scene. In my most recent visit, I tried multiple dishes that included sushi rolls, sashimi, chicken karage, sashimi salad, okonomiyaki, scallops, and a saké drink. All the food I had was super tasty and good. The fish was fresh and had big chunks or pieces. The okonomiyaki, which is a savory Japanese pancake with seafood, was super yummy. It was my first time having it. The scallops dish, whose name I can't remember, was unique in taste and very good. The sushi rolls were big, and I liked how they were created. We received good service. The ambiance is nice. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but you do get your money's worth. I highly recommend checking out this restaurant if you haven't been here before."
"Place is just so small and sometimes have to wait for a table. But their bento box is so good, steak teriyaki and shrimp tempura are my go to, I like their side salad and dressing and miso soup. Fresh fruit smoothies are great too."

"I'm updated my review to 5 stars because of their service. I have finally had the opportunity to go in. I usually ordered delivery or to go. The owner is so friendly and inviting. The food is delicious. This time around I got the Thai Chicken salad, pad Thai, and yellow curry. The prices have gone up a little bit but it's to be expected they still have great quality of food. The looks can be deceiving from the outside and it's a smaller place but the food is definitely worth the try. They have a good level of spice and you can tell them exactly how you'd like it to be and they will adjust it for you. I'm always about their Thai tea. It's so delicious. All around a good place to check out."
"Tonight we celibate our daughter's 14th birthday, a ritual we have been doing for the past 10 years since moving to Brookfield. We have tried the other two sushi restaurants in the area, but this is by far the absolute best. Can't say anything but "we love it""
"I've dined at Meiji for many years now and I'm surprised I haven't written a review.A very large restaurant with lots of seating, fairly large bar in the center of the restaurant and completely separated. They have six hibachi grills. I've been here for hibachi and sushi and enjoyed both. Of course the entertainment for the hibachi is what you come for and that is dependent on the chef you have. Good atmosphere and never too loud. Service is always very good. As for sushi, it is good but I prefer one other place over Meiji but that is personal taste. Recently, I've noticed the portions of the sushi has gotten smaller. Overall still very good and I'll be back depending on my mood.in the Waukesha area:Other hibachi: try AsianaOther Sushi: Asiana, Pacific Bistro, Sakura and my favorite Fujiyama"
"Great staff and servers. Hard working people. Great service. Last time I went I got moved inside by staff because someone was screaming outside. Food is great otherwise. Staff is caring."
"Haven't visited in quite a while, particularly for dinner. The current chef seems to be doing a respectable job with ingredient selection and traditional preparation techniques. I didn't think we'd ever find Tara no Kiku (cod milt) fresh in Mundelein, but they're doing it. They have a nice selection to dine izakaya style. It's pretty spendy though, being higher than other similar spots around."
"A wonderful tucked away sushi spot! The service is attentive and quickly delivers on what is ordered. There is always cheerful music playing and a nice atmosphere to enjoy your meal at your pace, never rushed. The food is affordable and delicious, it is the best sushi I personally ever had! The sake selection is also wonderful! I recommend the Hakutsuru "Sayuri" Nigori as the pink bottle is cute and has floral notes. The miso soup is a perfect addition to the sushi, and the bulgogi JFR fried rice has lots of veggies and bulgogi to enjoy and share. The calamari is crispy and fresh, and the Dragon Roll is delicious, topped with eel and avocado. The California Crunch is great, and the Gurnee Roll is the perfect thing for when you are craving crab! My go to will always be the Shrimp Tempura roll and the refreshingly sweet Arnold Palmer's!Everything on the menu is delicious, and is beautifully plated. There are even stunning wooden ships that are used to hold the sushi when the AHA Boat sushi is ordered!I definitely recommend dining at Aha, especially if you love sushi!!"
"If you're looking for this while driving, as I was, the large signage on the building says HIBACHI SUSHI! 5-Stars, all the way for my sushi and sashimi lunch with great service. I had a few pieces of sashimi, along with the Kyoto Maki rolls which were excellent. Service was pleasant and on it. Would stop here again when I'm in the area."
"I've been going to Ginza for over a decade. I love their Joy, Wauwatosa, Cinderella & Mars rolls! Great service, wonderful drinks and tasty fresh sushi! The fish that they use in their sushi is flown in daily!"
"This is my favorite Japanese restaurant for sushi in Lake County. It's a storefront type place in a strip mall so you're not going for the ambiance, but the food is fresh, the prices are decent, and it has a good balance between traditional and creative roll concoctions. The food is fairly sophisticated without being pretentious. It reminds me of a neighborhood Japanese restaurant in the SF Bay Area."
"Great friendly service. Enjoyed the adventure of the river boat sushi! Don't forget you can ask for whatever roll you want to be circulated on the river."

Love everything about this place! The restaurant is modern and chic which is perfect for a date night or a dinner with friends. Every time I've come, the staff have been great. They have a huge variety of rolls and sushi combos, and so far everything I've tried has been delicious and fresh. I continue to return for good reason!

Visited the restaurant for a work team lunch on Wednesday. Wasn't very busy inside so it was easy to seat all of us. We all got their any 3 rolls lunch special and all the food came at once. Friendly service and very attentive staff. Plenty of parking but the restaurant is a modest size. Great food!

Tokyo at Siam is located in a small corner of an intersection. Parking is limited BUT they do have drive thru in case you want to order and ahead and pick up your order without getting out of your car! The owner is very friendly. The tiny restaurant is clean and also with limited seating inside. The service dining in was fairly quick. I would opt out for their soda though if you are ordering their lunch special. It was very flat and not good at all. Of course I had to try their Chicken Pad Thai. The sauce is on the sweeter side which I like. The noodles were al dente and the wok flavor was good and ingredients were fresh. My friend ordered the Beef Yakisoba. The soft noodles had good flavor as well. Beef was tender and it was more of a soy sauce base. I would definitely come back and try out other items on their menu.

My husband and I came in on a Monday evening. We missed the happy hour menu, but we're able to take it advantage of the Monday, Tuesday dining specials for sushi. Overall, I would say it was good sushi, but not something that would make me come running back next time I have a sushi craving. My husband got the shrimp hibachi and also enjoyed it. I thought that the sauce and vegetables were cooked perfectly! They had the hibachi experience going on in the other room, which looks like a lot of fun so maybe we come to that next visit. The restaurant area was giant which makes me think it gets busy on weekends. Even though it was a Monday night I would say that the staff were all working pretty hard and were very attentive.

A hidden gem in Mundelein. Small and cozy sushi place with friendly servers and chefs. Our waiter was polite and attentive. We had our 1 year old daughter and got her set up with a high chair right away. We started our meal with some hot sake, gyoza and miso soup. Our server even brought a soup with some ice for our daughter which we didn't expect. This was a nice gesture since we can give her the soup right away. Usually we would have to wait for the soup to cool down before giving our baby something hot. We order the following:Maguro nigiri - fresh blue tuna with a kick of wasabi in between the rice and fish Sweet Potatoes maki - nicely crispy one of my favorite non fish rollRainbow Maki - the assortment of sashimi on top of a California rolls. This is my go to roll here because they don't stuff this with crab stick but actually top with sashimi.Osaka Maki - tuna, avocado, cream cheese, cucumber, spicy Mayo and masago. Usually anything with cream cheese can be too much but I liked there was a good balance of tuna and cream cheese.Spicy Sake Maki - actual salmon pieces and not diced salmon. I always hesitate ordering anything with spicy Mayo and fish because it's usually dice fish which I hate but Osaka does it right with the salmon sashimi pieces.Spicy Scallop Maki - good ratio or spicy Mayo to scallopNegi Hamachi Maki - simple and tastyGreen Tea Tiramisu - not overly sweet

Amazing service everyone was very attentive. The Godzilla roll is my favorite. I also love their attention to detail and how they plate dishes. The establishment is not huge but I love the homey vibes it gives. Not my first time coming here and certainly not my last:)

"They're Bitto box with chicken and with salmon was very good. Arrived about 1:30 PM and they close at 2 Pm. The staff was very adamant that you needed to be finished by 2 o'clock. The restaurant is kind of dark, but in general, the people are friendly. The food is usually good."
"Unassuming looking place in a strip mall with an extensive menu (lunch specials, Thai, Japanese, sushi, etc.), friendly waitstaff, with food that comes out quick! This is going to be a new favorite place!"
"Went here for lunch & the food was amazing with great prices. You definitely get your moneys worth for the lunch special of just $15. Would come here again."
"This is the secret spot best brunch in town! The plating and presentation make it over the top. Don't miss brunch at Bangkok Tokyo! The scramble was unbelievable."
"Stopped in this afternoon for lunch. Never been there before. The restaurant was clean, service was fast and the price was reasonable. Highly recommend the Spicy tuna roll and the California roll."
"Very good food which was prepared quickly with good presentation, wonderful atmosphere, and very friendly service!"
"Every time we come here we are so pleased. The food is so good. The fried rice is the best I ever had. We are adventurous so we always try new sushi off the all you can eat menu. Excellent service too!!"
"We stumbled across this restaurant by accident and i'm so glad that we did. It's part of a strip-mall in Buffalo Grove. It's small inside but it is nicely decorated with a nice bar as the focal point and also some cute outdoor seating patio for warm days. They are super friendly family owned restaurant, our server was very helpful and suggested so nice items for us to try. The food was delicious and it was a generous portion for the price. They have Thai food and also sushi which is perfect for us because we can never decide on one thing to eat so you definitely have options. We shared their chicken Pad Thai and a few sushi rolls as well. We will keep going back for cute, intimate sushi dates."
"We loved our Alaskan rolls today. Great quality tuna, salmon, and red snapper nigiri and sashimi. It's a cute place with comfortable booths and our waiter was attentive."
"So .. since Covid needed my craving of egg sauce ,, and ended up at Hanabi ,, they were still closed but is accepting takeout and delivery ,, after waiting a good 20 + minutes I went back to get my order,, I must say it was worth the wait ,, egg sauce shrimp dinner with rice soup salad ,, tempura shrimp veg ..asparagus beef ,,"
"I had the sushi craving HIT as soon as I finished swimming laps at the hotel. They had about 40 mins before closing and the waitress was SO kind to let myself and a few other diners in.I ordered their miso, hand rolls, amaebi and a couple of nigiris. HOWEVER, the highlight of the night was the Sexy Salmon appetizer. Sexy Salmon - Mango, cucumbers, jalapenos wrapped in salmon Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by and check them out, service is incredible!"
"Second time was everything I needed and wanted from a sushi place. The fresh salmon yellowfin was the best thing ever. Ahi is the tuna I eat often in recent months, but having it served fresh enough to be raw is a treat to experience here in the Midwest. Typically salmon is my favorite seafood but these days I think I'm leaning towards the tuna more and more. The presentation of the item I ordered was something I didn't expect and in truth I won't be ordering whatever it was again. I didn't think to take a photo of the plate on delivery, which is something I regret more than actually ordering something that was so ornate when it didn't serve the dish itself. Since I wasn't able to clearly understand the answer of what some of the garnishes were, I can only assume some were not meant to be eaten, the flower itself I decided wasn't even tasting. The white shredded nest of something I couldn't identify by taste or visual, it was ....interesting?A side bowl of rice was a bit of a challenge being that I long ago gave up trying to look sophisticated by having proficiency handling chopsticks. So it wasn't able to really accompany the meal too well. I'm certainly pleased that I decided to revisit Takara, the previous visit left me thinking I lost my appreciation for sushi when I wasn't drinking with my meal. I'm still certain I have a far greater appreciation for sushi when it's accompanied by vast quantities of saki, a couple beers, and maybe a good liquor to get into the mindset. My very first time eating sushi 30yrs ago was done on the condition the friend who dragged me out to eat raw fish was part of a "you buy drinks, and I'll eat your raw fish". I loved the experience. But didn't repeat it for another decade, and I was willing to do it, alcohol wasn't a condition, it was just an excuse to do both together. So I did come to love the taste and the experience."
"We stopped in to try out the new AYCE sushi delivered via conveyor belt. We knew going into it to not set the bar too high and we weren't disappointed. Pro-tip: Sit close to the prep area so you get the best pick of the options coming out of the kitchen. While the variety of options weren't plentiful, what we did eat were not just fresh but also tasty. There was a mixture of dessert options, combo bites, and stand alone nigiri. Yes, the sushi rice was clumsily prepared but nothing was terrible. We absolutely were stuffed when we left and for the price, it was a fair experience. Definitely something to try once. An interesting concept. For better dishes, I would pay more."
"Fast food type sushi. Lots of choices. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table based on the number tag they give you. Nigiri, rolls, even noodles. Obviously not the same as a sit-down traditional sushi place, it was way better than I expected. Good portions, freshly made, clean, all good. 3.5 stars."
"Consistently great sushi every single time I go!The only complaint I have would be that they use imitation crab in some of their rolls. But they are hands down my favorite spot now."
"One of the first Japanese places in Milwaukee area. The Hibachi Tables are always fun if you have a birthday or special occasion. The food is top notch. I always think I want something different but can't help getting Hibachi as it is so awesome. You do not have to sit at the Hibachi tables to have Hibachi either, you can order it off the menu. They have all sorts of items. They even have nice cocktails for after work gatherings with friends. Their appetizers are nice and reasonably priced too!"
"Stopped by Asiana with a large group, and I was impressed by our waitress handling our orders and checking in every couple of minutes. The Green Bay Packer roll was delicious and we enjoyed the sesame chicken and General Tso's chicken. We asked for spice on the general tso's and it wasn't spicy at all, so that was a bit of a bummer. Good bar area to hangout at as you're waiting for your group or to be seated. Lots of parking available outside."
"Love it here! The Batman burrito is really good with ahi tuna and crab with spicy mayo! It has the perfect amount of flavor, freshness and satisfaction to make it enjoyable to eat with how compact and full of savory taste it has. In addition the beef teriyaki bowl is good. I don't love the teriyaki but the steamed veggies and rice make up for it! Both of them are a total of 19$ which is good and will fill you up!Definitely recommend and to save go during happy hour in my pic below! Enjoy!"
"TJ Thai is one of my favorite restaurants in the Fox Valley. I've been coming here for a long time, and I've never been disappointed. It's quite a place, great atmosphere and separate areas for hibachi, sushi and "main" dining. On my most recent trip, I ordered vegetable sushi as an appetizer. Real good. It comes with a dab of wasabi and a little rest ginger. Tasty! For dinner, I ordered the Amazing Curry with tofu. The Amazing Curry is, well, amazing. It's a peanut sauce served atop a bed of spinach, with broccoli florets encircling the plate. This is so good! The wait staff has always been attentive and prompt. On weekends they can get pretty busy, but they work hard to make everyone happy.Terrific place!"
"Food is good and different varieties of Asian food but expensive Service is OK not so welcoming Ambiance is nice and comfy"
"I ordered carry out from here because I was craving sushi. I tried the Haru Maki spring rolls, stuffed with crab and vegetables. They were fine, but it could honestly have been anything inside the roll. They were non-de script.I also ordered a sweet potato roll and it suffered from the transit time. They were not crispy or distinct. The futomaki was good, well balanced with freshness and crunch. The Dynamite Roll was the star of the show - crab meat, avocado, crunch, spicy mayonnaise topped with lobster. It was fresh, rich and savory with plenty of crunch. I'd eat this any day, happily.Overall, this was a mixed bag, but most items were fine. They just didn't knock my socks off."
"Pleasantly surprised with how great the rolls were! The wait was a little long for the sushi but the hot Saki helped. Our favorite was the Franz Maki and Wisconsin Maki! Can't wait to try it again!"
"So fun! Great service, workers were very kind and upbeat. Great spot for a celebration, we went for a bday and got some fun bday treatment. I'm giving 4 stars because like may of the reviews say, they do try to up-charge you here. Suggesting many different things on the menu, when you don't realize that you'll actually have to pay more - so heads up there. They also do charge for water. But the food was delicious. The chef put on the show for us. I was full when it was done. It was pretty empty on a Saturday afternoon, only one other table filled. Chill ambiance, nothing fancy but it is pricier. I'd come back just for the fun and kind service, & fried rice!"
