Mouthwatering Restaurants in Milwaukee

"We decided to try out this restaurant as it is in walking distance from our home. Looking at the menu I was particularly interested in trying the chicken and waffles. We arrived about 2 on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was not crowded and we were told to take any table we wished. We did and after several minutes of not being greeted, I asked a server who was our server and she said "I can take you." Obviously servers are not assigned tables. A few things to note... the music was loud and all rap. The restaurant was cool, with the air on high (79 degrees outside) so bring a sweater. It was difficult tell employees from patrons, (even though they were wearing shirts with the logo on) because many employees were doing hookah and socializing like they were on break. I ordered a Bloody Mary (Sunday brunch right?) but they didn't have the ingredients to make one so I settled for the house lemon drop. The food and the drinks were excellent. My plate was hot and delicious. The lemon drop was clearly made with fresh lemon juice. The portions were good and filling. I was thinking this place has so much potential! If they would change the music and turn it down a bit, they could draw a mature crowd that would pack the place. There are no places like this in this neighborhood. As I was leaving, it was difficult to get through a crowd that was standing blocking the walkway and exit. My neighborhood, my people so not a huge deal but for others this could be a deal breaker. I hope the owners read the reviews here. I would love to come back!"

"This was a home run 5/5 for everything. Sat in the sunroom patio for a little evening sunlight. Temp was still warm even though it was cold out. Our waitress provided more than quick friendly service, she had her own personality and engaged in conversations with us. The food was AMAZING. Love the wood fired bread/pizza crust. The sauce for the mussels had a delicious garlic lemony butter that I soaked up with the bread. Everything had so much flavor and I cannot wait to return!"

"A true piece of Midwest Americana!Five stars all around!! Vintage diner vibe with booths and counter seating. Very friendly and efficient staff, HUGE menu, fabulous home baked goods made on site, cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls as big as a plate. Had a rare T-bone steak with the best sweet potato fries ever! We'll come again! There's plenty of seating!"

"I had had a nice lunch in the area so I looked around on Yelp for a close cocktail establishment and this place was close so I stopped by. This is another neighborhood bar where everyone knows everyone and it was pretty packed but I got the last stool at the bar. It's got a small U shaped bar and side tabled and that's all I could see from my bar spot, I couldn't see beyond to see what was in back like a pool table etc. I couldn't really talk to the bartenders and ask questions about the place because it was so busy with football was starting soon and everyone anchored in for the game."

"Great local pub with fun Wisconsin decor and good bar food. The signature margarita is tasty, and this time around I tried some of the food too during lunch. The chicken ceasar salad was delicious but on the smaller side - I got my chicken grilled but blackened also seemed like a great option. The hot chicken wings were also delicious. The waffle fries were a nice tasty side as well. Will have to try some of the other grub next time!"

"We love this breakfast place! It not only resembles a classic 1950s diner, it serves great tasting food with good prices. Just so you know, "Everything here is made from scratch except the peas". The food here is always fresh and the specials here always come with a salad bar option. Please try a shake here, you won't regret it!! Open on Christmas Day until 4pm."

"Believe it or not, it's more organized and very clean! There are lots of choices for fresh veggies! The bakery area is new, seems like more items! The staff is very friendly and helpful!"

"The vegetarian breakfast wrap has been my go to for the last year or so and it never lets me down! The chipotle aioli it comes with is so good! Love coming here either to quickly pick up food but also is a really nice spot to relax and get some work done while enjoying awesome food and coffee"

"Lovely ice cream shop (operates with The Chocolate Shop ice cream) on the Lodi side of the Merrimac Ferry crossing on Lake Wisconsin.Tasty ice cream! They also have pretzels, popcorn, hot dogs, etc. The staff are very cool - Andrew is apparently the same person as my husband. ;) Same age, both Ninja Turtles fans (purple everything!!)."

"Excellent service, excellent food, excellent prices. Had the Bangkok Combo that had this amazing red curry sauce. Perfect amount of heat. Don't need to get the Bangkok but highly recommend this sauce on something. Pineapple fried rice was also good. (Sorry I don't have any pictures to share. It was too good to delay eating to take photos.)"

"I got a few recommendations for last dinner at Fon du Lac. I decided to go to Sebastian since I'm very partial to meat and steak. It very interesting place. It was in the plaza building. The ambiance is quiet and dark. It was a bit outdated feel. The server was nice, not too attentive though and she forgot my mushrooms soup. I ordered cheese nuggets for my appetizer because why not I'm in cheese country! For main course I got the 10 oz prime rib - medium rare because I do like my meat mooing a bit with roasted asparagus and mushrooms soup.The cheese nuggets OMG sooo good! I can't stop eating. Fresh, crispy, a bit salty cheesy goodness. It came with ranch dip which I feel not necessary. The prime rib is prime rib. Cooked the way I like it with au jus on the side. The shocking is the asparagus. They very generous on the portions! Actually nuggets portions also good with $6. I expect few pieces of asparagus but this like they gave you a bundle of it. The soup mushrooms delicious! Creamy goodness and each spoon it has actual sliced mushrooms! Like big slices not little chunks! Quite surprising. I'm glad I asked for it. I'm so stuffed and brought some leftovers for breakfast."

"We bought three types of fresh sausage here (including the Capone and a Polish sausage), and they all ended up being delicious! However, they were all wrapped together with no labeling to distinguish which was which. I know everyone is busy, but separate packaging (rather than one big bundle) and stickers or a scribble on the butcher paper to tell you what's what when you get home would be useful."

"This is a super fun cocktail spot that MKE needed! I love love the exclusive feel when you walk in through the alley and then enter a little paradise oasis great music/vibe and the cocktails are awesome - I am not often a Mezcal fan but the cocktail on the menu that uses it is . Both times we have gone we walk up and get seated immediately which is always a great experience. Some feedback:-the 2x I've been there now we have been seated in the lower back area (perhaps since we weren't a reservation and walked in?). It feels a little disparate from the more trendy, larger seating space. I think it would be really cool to tie the 2 spaces together more by putting up some bamboo fencing or large Palm Leaf pots along the gate facing the sidewalk. Perhaps some classic large black/white striped umbrellas would also be cool!-hours can be a little funky, google will say you're open but twice I showed up and you were actually closed - would be great for someone to stay on top of updating hours for closures"

"Great Mexican restaurant, with private parking lot across the street. Lot's of seating inside with their restaurant's name boldly on it. Menu is full with great meals. Service is quick and very friendly."

"Great hometown restaurant on the lake. It gets very busy sometimes so be ready for a long wait if you want a seat with a view. Also has a great bar with friendly bartenders and karaoke some nights. Food is good Wisconsin supper club staples, but they do have a variety of daily specials."

"Stopped here to eat while in town for the Packers game and it was amazing. Small place but friendly service. I got the Chicken fajita burrito and it was awesome. My husband got the pork burrito which was good as well. We could have just shared one they were so big. Margaritas were good and you could taste the alchohol. Finding the entrance was interesting considering the parking but it was dark and we almost walked in the employee entrance lol must go."

"I decided to try this new restaurant on a whim, especially since I was feeling a little under the weather. The service was excellent - all of my questions were answered, and the staff was happy to offer suggestions, which I really appreciated! The dishes were prepared with a traditional Chinese approach, and both the broth and noodles were flavorful and comforting. The portion size was generous, with plenty of noodles and broth, and the egg rolls were delicious as well. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. Thanks for the great service!"

"My family & I order our dinner on Saturday June 19th @ 5:30p which was our first time. Once we pulled up; the business had clear signage outside for customer's to call in their order & someone will bring your food out after you text or call once arrive. The service was great, the guy was friendly that took our order & brought the food out. We ordered pint chicken fried rice, 2 quarts of shrimp fried rice & fried chicken. All our food was made to order & prices are reasonable as well which range from $5-10 depending on what you order. We did try their eggrolls & springs rolls (mini spring rolls not normal sized) & we did not like the taste of either. We were very pleased & excited to finally find a great tasting Chinese restaurant near us & know which items to order for our next visit."

"First off they have the best menudo in Madison. Only Saturday and Sundays. The store has a low key restaurant in the back. Also the pastor is so good here as well. You can definitely get meat, beer, veggies and much more here. The owner is very nice. The place is clean but very small inside. I live around the area and shop here a lot."

"A cute little coffee shop located right in front of the Woodlake Market. The coffee is piping hot which gives me time to write this review. Wow...talk about fresh!!!There is a daily special coffee on the board, which was a white mocha today, those are to sweet for me. They have everything from coffee, espresso, mochas and smoothies along with baked goods too. We had a chocolate chip cookie and it was really good. The staff was very nice. The lady making our coffee acknowledged that we were not from here and asked where we were visiting from. I am sure 50% of there customers are tourists from the hotel or business clients visiting Kohler Corp. There are two small couches inside with one facing the counter. It is a little awkward to sit there because you are looking directly at the staff. There is a great outdoor patio that is nicely shaded or you can even drink at one of the tables inside the Woodlake Market!I went back in to get a little more cream and the sweet lady offered me a refill on my coffee. How nice was that?This is a great place for a little caffeine rush or to satisfy your sweet tooth! Plus there is free wifi too!!!"

"The food and the waiters were amazing. This was my first experience at Swagat and the environment is relaxing. I stopped in on Sunday evening and enjoyed the following: Samosas, Panpuri, and goat curry. Everything was delicious! Definitely will be back to experience more tasty food. Oh, I can't forget the garlic and cheese naan. The cheese is stuffed in the naan. I repeat for my Wisconsin cheese lovers, the cheese is stuffed in the naan!"

"I like to eat here. This place has the best nicest staff. The food usually takes between 10-15 minutes depending on how many people are with you and usually check up on you for drink refills, opinions on the food, and cleaning up of the table. Inside is pretty calm and chill. There is a bar for people who like bars. But for people who just like to eat the normal part is fine for you. One thing I do not like is the price because it is a little expensive for some people but it is cheap. The price is depending on what you order. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch. People need to try this if in the area!"

Called to tell me when my order was ready for pickup. When we arrived I called to tell them I was there and they brought our order out placed it in the back of our van and we were set to go."

"For a sandwich shop, Jersey Mike's is a 5-star sandwich! The bread is baked fresh and it's delicious. Try the hot subs for something different. The Big Kahuna Cheese Steak is delicious and you won't be disappointed."

"Ooh, this place is a bit out of the way for me so I never came... I always figured they would be like all the other local farmer's markets I've been to (Whitefish Bay, Shorewood - mostly vendor supported). What a delightful surprise!This was truly a "farmers'" market. In October 2021, they were still full of fall produce, flowers, and goodies. People were generally very nice too. I was looking at some veggies by this one stand, when a guy passed by and pointed out the owner and told me he was "the nicest man at the market." I got a nice smile from him and took a picture. His was the first stand I was looking, so I didn't really believe him until after I've made a tour of the rest of the market. He really had the best smile! Though I must say, everyone else was just as friendly. Except one. I won't say who, to give her the benefit of doubt... but she kept ignoring me and taking other customers' questions and helping them while I was trying to ask a question and pay for some of her stuff. I rarely every feel discriminated against, but either she just didn't like my masked face or had something against Asians. I don't know. Just rude. I still bought something from her... wish I hadn't, because later I found out it was infested with aphids. Other than that, the experience was wonderful and I really enjoyed getting fresh produce."

"Found this fun little gem driving from Milwaukee to Madison. Monday special 1/4 lb burger with cheese and all the fixings for $2.50, a steal. Burger was very good and the bun was awesome, perfect size. Nice front patio, very clean and an impressive bar and beer garden in the back. Will definitely stop again for more specials!"
