Midway Bar-B-Que

We went to a pumpkin patch with our little bit and we were hungry. Came across this BBQ restaurant and stopped. The menu was huge and in I mean, I would read it very well! I only wanted a quarter pound of thinly sliced turkey and a person creamed corn. The turkey was good, but not thinly sliced. The corn was delicious. Like home-cooked. Hubs had fried Catfish and Coleslaw. The Catfish was good per hubs and the Coleslaw too. The service is counterstrike to order,but bring it to you at the table. The ambiance like a hunting lodge. The stuffed dead animal were everywhere. Our little bit was ok after we explained they weren't only to "get" her. The place is busy, but itBBQ. only ok BBQ. Corn was great.

Great BBQ in old Katy. Not quite the taste and love they had years ago when they were smaller and by midway market, more of a regular BBQ place but still great if you are stranded in old Katy, have no where to go, your husband or wife left you on the street or just for lunch. #:)

I'm gluten free and was really excited to try this place as they even have a gluten free menu posted online. Unfortantely, I wasn't able to try many menu items as they placed BREAD on top of the meat, in multiple boxes of my food. I specifically ordered online and did not select to include any bread. Portions were great but was sad to not get to try many of their offerings. Not sure I would return again. Taste was alright. Curbside was quick!

Place was pretty crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered two chopped beef sandwiches to go with bbq beans, sweet potato fries, and fried okra. Also brought home some sausage for later in the day. I do like the bbq sauce, and both meats, and would go back if in the area. But wasn't a fan of any of the sides. The sandwich seemed to more bun that meat unfortunately. They should consider switching the bun to a smaller one and toasting it.

Since Cooper's BBQ in Katy is now permanently closed, I am in search of another place with an awesome baked potato. Midway was my first attempt, and it wasn't awful. The thing I like about Coopers is that they give all of the components to put on the potato rather than giving you the potato with everything already on top. While Midway's potato had everything I liked, it was the wrong portion and didn't taste all that great. Ordering was a bit confusing as well. Upon walking in, I walked up to the register and waited for a few minutes before asking someone if I was at the wrong place to order. She said no and then scrambled to find someone to take it. It was clear the gentleman taking my order did not know what he was doing, but that's ok - we worked through it together. It just would have been nice to have some decent service since so many employees were standing around.

Food is good. Went here a lot during the start of the lockdown. Always super busy probably because it's good food. I would have used the online order feature but I couldn't find their BBQ chicken plate.Do not bother trying to call them to order. I waited on hold for 20 minutes after a 2 second interaction. My patience threshold was reached so I hung up. But I had a pregnant wife who wanted bbq chicken so I called back. Someone else answered immediately and was ready to take my order. I asked about the chicken and was told there was no more chicken.If this place doesn't value my time enough to pick up the phone from hold to tell me there is no chicken then I'll go elsewhere. Not hard to find BBQ in Texas.

Quick service, great options for events, pricing is a little better than average. We had sliced beef sandwiches for a party and the cuts were tender with a great smoky flavor.

The deserts were great, bbq was super bland. Service was great but I'd only go back for the desert.

Went for a local music recital and got to enjoy some good bbq, was much better than expected. Got the 2 meat with sausage and fatty brisket. Got fried okra and sweet potatoe fries as sides. The portions were generous and the beef brisket was super tender. Their bbq sauce has a nice sourness that compliments the fatty beef. Enjoyed both the food and the music. Would recommend you give them a try.

Ok, so Midway BBQ. Some days it's good and some days it's pretty bad. We had a fully loaded chop beef sandwich delivered recently. Unfortunately, their definition of chopped beef was brisket chopped up. We did better going to Bucees. Otherwise the brisket is ok and the chicken is ok. Not my favorite bbq place but it's sufficient. I use my own bbq sauce. Theirs is not so tasty.
