Absolutely love this small spot. The staff is so friendly and comforting and the seafood is so fresh. Tip this is a byob. Definitely some of the best and freshest sushi in Miami at this price point. Do the omakase

Hidden Gem in Coconut Grove Midorie has a humble minimalistic esthetic that brings you back to Japan. Even their chairs were particular. The team is extremely inviting and ensure to walk you through their options. Each dish is prepared fresh and you can definitely tell they don't skimp out on the portions.

A truly hidden gem in Coconut Grove with delicious food and great vibes! Our server, Lynette, was INCREDIBLE. Made excellent recommendations and had incredible energy. For my meal, I went with the Midorie bowl with soba noodles, and my boo had the same but with white rice. Absolutely incredible - super fresh flavors and extremely filling. I also got the scallop hand roll, while he went with the spicy tuna roll. We each had a cup of miso soup as well. Loved everything. The prices are a teensy bit on the high side, especially for the hand rolls. But, they take a lot of care in the food, and I'll definitely be returning.A few things to note. They don't have a liquor license just yet, so no beer and wine for sale, but they do offer BYOB. This spot is a bit hidden, as it's adjacent to a parking lot on the OTHER side of Main Highway and visible for Grand. Parking is available in lots and on the street nearby.

I never thought I would experience Japanese cuisine as fresh and authentic as Midorie in South Florida! We came here on a whim for a late Sunday lunch and were greeted warmly before being seated right away at the bar in true omakase-style. We were surrounded by families and other couples enjoying a wholesome meal before strolling the plaza. The restaurant was not difficult to find, as several other reviewers have mentioned, but we did park in the adjacent car lot next to the restaurant, and it was a 10-second walk. There is abundant seating outdoors as well, but we chose to sit next to the chefs as they prepared our meals and explained the special dishes of the day.We ordered something off each section of the menu. The midorie rice bowl (which serves a medley of fresh salmon, tuna, and crab topped with yuzu avocado) was flavorful, especially when paired spicy miso sauce. I would recommend trying the bowl with soba noodles, as it is something unusual and delicious. We also enjoyed the obi nigiri. All of the seafood is extremely fresh. The winning dish was definitely the handroll -- wrapped perfectly in crunchy nori. Nearly every dish was served with a dash of wasabi, which was extremely fresh -- I actually wish we were given a bit more of it! We enjoyed our meal with iced water, but I think hot tea would have paired nicely with the meal.

My friend asked me to come with her here and I'm super happy she did! This is a cute hidden spot in the Grove from the same owners as Wabi Sabi. My friend opted for the omakase which was $100 and served all at once on a plate and I got the Midorie bowl which was really good and I found to be a good value! Really delicious fish and sushi! They do not take reservations and they are BYOB and don't charge you a corkage fee or anything.

Midorie is a great new option for sushi in Coconut Grove. This is an authentic sushi restaurant, so... keep that in mind. Midorie is not the kind of place where the fish is buried under a ton of sauce and crunchy toppings. We had the omakase nigiri, which currently runs at a $100 bucks. Also had the Midorie roll, spicy tuna roll, and a few of the single piece nigiri.Everything was super fresh, very tasty.BYOB kind of a place. There is no corkage fee.Across the street from the restaurant, there is a convenience store that sells sake in case you forget to bring your own. Service was perfect, always attentive without being intrusive. Ambiance is kind of nice when sitting inside the restaurant.. outside in the terrace is very plain. It's definitely a great place for sushi if you like the simplicity of the art of Nigiri. I don't give it 5 stars because of the way they do their omakase. Also, it needs better plates for some dishes... such as seaweed salad, among other things. Overall, it is a great place for real sushi lovers.

10/10 will try againTHE PRICE IS RIGHT!!! in love with the traditional dining experience, from the food to the atmosphere. the service was quick and the sashimi was out of this world. most affordable omakase i've seen so far in miami. i have always been a salmon and tuna lover but the white fish was so flavorful and fresh! it changed how i felt towards raw white fish forever. will be going back to try their nigiri and sashimi omakase.check out their instagram @midorie_miami

What a cute literal hidden restaurant. Hidden from the main path, Midorie is a such a breath of fresh air. It looks very simple but cozy and warm, there are no frills to the aesthetic. The staff is friendly and super welcoming. I ordered a yaki soba bowl and the waiter made the best protein recommendation. The food came out in less than 5 min and it was so good. The flavors were great and everything tasted so fresh. I want to come back and try the sushi

Great if you can find itAfter seeing multiple posts about Midorie on social media we decided to give it a try. The one caveat is that it is difficult to find it, so it is technically a hidden gem .The experience starts from the moment you arrive. As soon as you open the door you are greeted by the full staff. The restaurant has options to sit inside and outside, but the amount of space is kind of limited. That being said the atmosphere the restaurant offers is perfect to enjoy a meal with a significant other, on a date, and with friends. Another aspect that stood out from my multiple visits is that servers are there to make your experience great, they are quick to make recommendations, to ensure that your water is full, and to guide you through the process. The real highlight of Midorie is the food. We tried multiple appetizers, bowls, makis, and nigiri. Everything that we ordered was great, made with high-quality ingredients, and everything felt fresh. But this comes at a steep price, depending on what you order the bill per person without drinks can be $35 (appetizer + bowl) to $100 (Omakaze). All in all, if you want a great sushi / Japanese food experience Midorie is an excellent choice. From a quaint and kind of hidden eating space to delicious food all with great service. My Criteria5 stars: The best food I have ever had, or an excellent option given the price.4 stars: Good food, a restaurant I look forward to trying again. 3 stars: Good food, a restaurant that I am indifferent to. 2 stars: Below average experience, will not go again.1 stars: This restaurant should be closed.
