Michael's Water Ice

Fantastic establishment! The owners are so incredibly kind to my five year old son. They are nothing but wonderful to our entire family every single time we go in. My son begs my husband and myself every day to go to "Scott's " (one of the owners) support this small business bc this is what community is about. They give free ice cream to dogs too but be mindful of not taking advantage. Buy ice cream for yourself as well

Unfortunately this place closes whenever they feel like it regardless of their posted hours. Hours online say they are open until 9 but we went at 8:40 and the door was locked with the hours sticker on their door scraped off?

Some of the best water ice in Philly! I don't live in Philly anymore but this place will forever be on my must-visit list whenever I'm back in town. The gelati is my favorite thing to order.Also, the owner is awesome and always a pleasure to chat with. He really seems to love the local community/neighborhood and getting to know his customers. Great guy.

Looking for something different and ah-may-zing? This is where you'll find it. The shop is cute and clean and the staff is so friendly. But the star of this show is the gelati! Try one with swirl soft serve and chocolate water ice. Thank me later.

Is it summer already? I am low-key addicted to this place. Most delicious water ice I've had in Philly- select flavors have the little fruit chunks in it so you know its the real deal. The guy behind the counter (perhaps, Michael?) is so warm and friendly. You can tell he really cares to build community and develop relationships with his patrons which is a breath of fresh air in the Times of Amazon. If you want some DELISH water ice or a little bit of kindness this is the place to be.

So yummy! As I walked out, I said, "well I will be coming here way too much". I got a kids chocolate hard ice cream- it's a perfect size! The owners (I believe it was them) were so kind. They knew most people by name, it was so great to see. I can't wait to come again!! Cash only!

We were walking by with our pup Milo and they came out to tell us that pups are allowed if it's not too busy. They were so friendly. We came in and found out, dogs eat free!! We got right to chatting. It's cash only but Scott let us know santuccis and Sunoco both have ATMs. It felt like we had been going there for a long time. Such friendly, nice people. Nice to have a dog friendly neighborhood spot for some ice cream.

The owner was wonderful - super friendly tried and true Philly guy and helpful with our order. He told me all about his 30+ years in business in Roxborough. Nice flavor options and their custard was delicious (I got the gelati which is a mix of Italian ice and custard)- highly recommend for authentic Italian ice!

Best local spot for wooder ice! Not only are you warmly greeted with each visit, but my dogs know EXACTLY where we are as soon as we are several blocks away, and essentially smoosh their noses against the window until they receive their impending attention and ice cream.

Visited Michael's over the weekend and definitely found my go-to place for water ice. Scott, the owner, was so personable and excited for us to try different flavors and also provide recommendations. Felt very clean and safe to be in the shop and extra measures were taken to make sure we left with our water ice in tow / avoided marking a mess in the heat. Can't wait for the next time we stop by - I doubt that it will be more than a couple days until we're back.
