"This was a last minute desicion. The place we were going to had tables, but also had signs on the tables saying take out only. So we walked out and decided to see what else was in the plaza. Low and behold, there was Sunrise pita. I'd been waiting to eat here for a while. Since it was a last minute desicion, I felt a little bit rushed on what to have. It was a good thing I was looking at the shawarma because when he said shawarma to me. He might have been reading my mind. I went with the small shawarma plate, and it was an excellent choice. It came with a pita bread, and I got it with most of the options, onion, tomatoes, cucumbers, red cabbage, some kind of tomato salad, and, of course, eggplant salad. I think I could have just had a plate of eggplant by itself. They also had one pound container of hot peppers and pickles mix buy one get one, I had to have one. The peppers were not too hot, and the pickles had just enough heat to make the flavor pop. They were so good! Now, my wife she had a tuna pita combo with French fries. I had a few fries, and they were good. She ate the entire thing. She must have liked it. For lunch, it might have been a bit pricey, but it was well worth it. With a really clean restaurant, good service and great food, how can you go wrong."
"We met friends from the Midwest who were visiting family in south Florida. They are kosher. This wasn't our usual choice for us of dining venues, but we do like mediterranean cuisine, so we felt it was a promising option. In addition, it was a restaurant that none of us had been to before. We were familiar with the shopping center as many years ago there was both a sushi restaurant and Chinese restaurant that we used to frequent here. There's plenty of parking in the lots nearby although it is a busy corner. The restaurant is small. Our server had just started working there so she was quite careful in taking our order and had to check the answers to our questions. Even though the service wasn't perfect (she didn't bring a few extra items we'd asked for -- like salad dressing, etc.), we knew she was trying. Our friends started out with a hummus appetizer. It came with pita bread. The hummus was quite good. It was topped with some whole chickpeas and oil. It was a large enough of a serving to share. After that, they both had the (vegetarian) vegetable soup which came with a large amount of couscous. They added some of the couscous to the soup. The coucous was served in a decorative tagine. I had their chicken schnitzel salad. This was a piece of battered chicken breast deep fried and cut into pieces on top of an Israeli salad. My husband had their shakshuka dish. This had three eggs cooked in the tomato sauce. Both portions were quite large. The eggs were cooked a bit more than my husband would have liked, but he still enjoyed the dish. To drink, we shared a pot of very good mint tea. It was large enough for quite a few glasses each. For dessert, our friends had a piece of baklava. And we tried their knafeh. It is one of my husband's favorite desserts as it is not overly sweet. It was a tad overcooked, as the filo was a bit too browned, but still quite good. We are glad we had the opportunity to try this restaurant. And yes, we would come back here again -- even without our kosher friends."

Visit Restaurant Page"I remembered this location, as it was another restaurant I had visited and reviewed last year January. The location is in a strip mall area with a nice fountain and plenty of outdoor seating available as well.I came here with the family and a big appetite and we initially opted to sit inside. Its a nice large space with the smell of BBQ wood smoke in the air. Unfortunately, while we were there, someone accidentally shut off the vent and it started to smoke up, so they suggested we move outdoors. The weather was OK, so we moved it outdoors. I ordered the Brisket tacos and the Dino Rib, on condition my wife share with me. The wife and kids got a slew of other items as you can see in the photos. The Brisket in the tacos was a bit tough but the Pico de Gallo was delicious, so it wasn't bad. I tasted some of the Pulled beef tacos, which was amazing and then my Dino rib came. OMG it was huge.. like a Dino! The meat literally fell off the bone with the touch of my fork. It did need some salt and BBQ sauce for added flavor, but was incredibly soft and amazing. My wife said the Wings were very good and the kids loved the Dirty Pulled beef fries and the Smoked chicken.. both the platter and the sandwich were really good. Even the guac with their own chips was very good. The Service was very good as well. We only experienced friendly, helpful service that included suggestions and assistance with an allergy that one of my kids have and on what is popular as well as based on how things are made. Awesome experience all around."
"Dixie BBQ is a barbecue place with pretty good food, however be advised that it is a bit expensive. Actually, a bit more than "a bit expensive," but it is what it is.Overall, it was OK food, but the price was a bit high for what it was and nothing really stood out about my total experience. I guess that I will give it three stars."
"Unbelievable authentic restaurant here in Soflo; may be my new favorite in Broward period. I've been here twice since opening and everything is outstanding. The service is amazing, quick, attentive, and friendly. The vibes are 100%, with great decor and energy. The owner/chef was there making sure everything runs smoothly, and is just as friendly. The food is insane!! We ordered multiple starters and nothing was less than perfect. The Israel Mezza gave us a small variety of starters: hummus, homemade pickles, bread, and salads. Everything was flavorful and fresh. We also had the Brussels sprouts and eggplant (not pictured) and they were just as good. The main courses were even better. The chicken tajine and some of the best couscous I've ever had. You can tell it's 100% homemade. The chicken was tender and was packed with flavor too. The harrais was juicy and had a hint of sweetness. Not pictured are the lamb tajine, salmon, and kofta kebab that held up to the other mains too. The desserts here are all dairy free and you can't even tell! We had the dessert of the day, a banana bread pudding, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Nothing was lacking! TLDR: you have to come here for authentic middle eastern food with excellent vibes and energy."
"This traditional neighborhood Israeli cafe located in North Miami near Aventura offers great food. We started with fresh orange juice $8 and coffee $4. We had the Ziva Complete $18, the Omllette Croissant $16, and Pita Sabich $16. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was great."
"Great place! The place is very nice ambience and huge area. Great for parties. They also had live music which was very nice and entertaining. Food was delicious and fresh. Came around with all different types of fresh meat every few minutes. The service was very good and they were very accommodating to anything extra we needed. Can't wait to come back"
"Years ago, there use to be a bakery on Alton Road near 7th street run by a super sweet jewish lady, and there was nothing like the bread and pastries coming out of that place. Then one day she decided to retire and sold the place. Zak the baker kinda brought that back to me, but with a modern twist. You have to try their bagels. These bagels far exceeded my expectations. I daresay they were better than the bagels I had in Montreal. Added some of that nova cream cheese... Forget about it.Then there's their chocolate Bobka..... Oh my bobka.. daaaaang. Also, the size of it! Took me 3 days to finally finish just that one slice. Service couldn't have been better. Really friendly people, attentive, and courteous. I can't recommend this place enough."

I had the pleasure of meeting visiting cousins here for lunch today. If you're craving the most delicious Mid-Eastern food (falafel, Shawarma, kebabs), Sunrise Pita & Grill is the place to go. We were made to feel right at home when we arrived by the warm and welcoming staff. We placed our orders and sat to wait for the rest of our party to arrive. The gentleman at the counter came over and offered to lower the tv volume for us. Then he gave my husband complimentary samples of the soup of the day for us to enjoy as we waited. The soup was cream of corn, and it was super delicious. The place is so clean and inviting to sit and enjoy your food. We absolutely loved everything we ordered. All is prepared fresh in front of you, and the portions are plentiful. Can't wait to go back for more!

So I've been in town working for a few days, and was looking for some unique Uber eats to order and ran across the spot. I called to ask about the fish sandwich on the menu (that's all it says) and found out it was Branzino, which is my favorite fish. The very nice lady who took my call suggested that I try the fish and chips, so I did! I really don't like coleslaw so I didn't order any. But surprisingly when the fish & chips arrived, it also came with a small little container of coleslaw. So why not try it? If I could tell you between the bites of fish, the coleslaw, and the fries, how many times I said oh my gaaaaaawd to myself, I'd probably use up all 10 fingers at least. The food was so good, so well seasoned, the texture and flavor of the fish was absolutely divine, the batter was good. And also my drinks were cold which is an anomaly most of the time when you're ordering out. Needless to say this is going on my list for places to visit again in the future!

My friend took me here for my birthday and it was soo amazing!!! One of the best Mediterranean/Israeli places I've been to. The service was not bad either. It was priced a bit higher so it's probably not a place I would go to consistently but I would consider it for an occasion. We ordered the Israeli salad, hummus platter and smoked salmon pizza. There was a lot of bread etc, so I felt pretty full afterwards. Still a great choice & delicious option!
Visit Restaurant Page"Very good Steak and customer service. Loved everything about my meal. Couldn't decide on a evening drink and she allowed a sampling, what more could you ask for? Lol. Decided on Barkan-Chardonnay. Sizzling steak plates and wonderful oyster mushrooms. Great pita bread and condiments. Can't complain one bit. Beautiful typical steak house white tables. Enjoyed myself, thank you!"
"This was an unexpected stop on the way north. After leaving laurenzos we were heading up Dixie and looking for a late lunch or snack having only shared a hot dog at Sams club. This was the first place open with parking.Prices for main meals are pretty pricey -- it's only their dinner menu. But it is a kosher restaurant which is usually costlier. And an 18% tip is added to all checks. We considered leaving, but our iced teas were already on the table. Instead we ordered a combo salad and a grape leaves appetizer to share.First we were given a bowl of pickled cabbage and carrots for the table. Then came 2 pieces of pillowy hot pita bread. Then the combo plate with two different eggplant -- one a chopped eggplant salad and the other babbaghanoush; plus tehina (sesame seed paste -- like nut butter) and hummus (from chick peas) and some red roasted peppers. My favorite was the hummus. Our order of grape leaves came next -- served hot;they were stuffed with rice and herbs; although we'd been told they had beef in them, there was no meat. A plate with four fried felafel balls came next -- which we weren't expecting but we were told that came with the combo. We added salt to everything and mixed and matched bits of the pickled cabbage and peppers to torn off corners of pita to make different combo mini sandwiches. We were stuffed. The dips could have used a bit more pizzazz but were still ok. And it would have been nice to get a refill on our iced tea... service was pleasant. It was not very busy."
"How gorgeous does this spread look??? If only you can scratch & sniff!! Their shakshuka was so good, along with the rest of the items on this table that we came back 2 days in a row!!! Their morning breakfast scramble came with the dips & bread as u see. We added their delicious french toast & Americanos. It's family owned, take you in like you're a part of their family and serve you the freshest ingredients available. Can't wait to go back to Miami so I can visit them again!"
"We tried Mendel's because it was in walking distance of our hotel, and to tell the truth, it was just ok. It was a busy weekend for them, so maybe that was the problem.Positives - We were seated immediately which was good because at other places there were long waits. Also, the sweet sauce that went with the brisket was delicious. Negatives - I ordered the half chicken which they ran out of. They substituted the grilled chicken breast instead. Unfortunately it was very dry. I would like to try this place again when it is not as busy."
"We met some friends here from out of state for dinner. They are kosher and one is vegetarian. Luckily we like all Mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine. The casual restaurant is in a shopping center with other kosher stores. It was easy to find on the north side of the street. You order and pay at the counter and they deliver the food to you at your table. We decided to share a few things. My husband and I got their felafel hummus bowl. The felafel were freshly made and perfectly cooked. I liked the taste of the creamy hummus. My husband liked the babaghanoush. I love eggplant in any form. This was slightly chunky, but to me a bit bland. The salad was very good -- lots of seeds and nuts in it. We got some of their lemon garlic mix and used it on the salad like dressing. The meal came with two pieces of soft and fluffy pita bread. We had some of our meal leftover to take home. If you like spicy, ask for zhug or shug-- it's chopped up hot peppers with garlic and coriander. Our friends had a felafel pita sandwich and the other had a vegetarian dish that looked like meat, but was made from grilled mushrooms and artichoke hearts. Sorry, I didn't get the name. It was served on top of hummus. The restaurant uses plastic ware and disposable bowls. The food comes on a paper covered metal tray. So obviously not a place you need to dress up for... But it was perfect for us to sit and talk and catch up."
"A friend picked up some prepared food for me and I have to say everything is absolutely excellent. I'm eating the mushrooms with onions and spinach. The mushrooms are perfect. I also got the vegetable lo mein, which is really tasty like it was from a Chinese restaurant but better quality vegetables are very fresh and then also I got the cheese princes that are made in which were amazing made from scratch everything I have to say is delicious. I'm highly impressed by this place."
"Awesome experience here. Great food, great service and good ambiance. Some highlights were the fried bread appetizer, the first pizza on the menu (pesto and tomato) and the fried cauliflower. Personally I thought the fig and cheese pizza was too sweet.Fish was good (branzino with purple potatoes) and the papardelle was also great. Creme brulee was a little too burnt and bitter tasting."
"It turns out I've driven past this cozy Israeli / Mediterranean deli plenty of times while on the Julia Tuttle Causeway. I finally stopped in last night seeing it was the only healthy place open late after visiting my mom in the nearby hospital. Even though they were near closing time, I must say the service was top notch. I never felt rushed, and for that alone they get five stars.Functionally it's a walk up order, and they have seating both inside and on the sidewalk. The creamy hummus I ordered, garnished with tomatoes and onions, tasted fresh, as was the warm and fluffy pita bread served with it. You can tell the bread was made fresh when ordered! The bowl of lentil I ordered was nicely warm and hearty and went along great with the grilled chicken breast. They also have a few prepackaged baked goods, as well as kosher grape juice."
"We brought the family here based on one of my daughters reccomendation. The place is actually really large and we were seated in the side room, since this is likely one of the busiest weeks of the year for them. Waitress came rather quickly and was very attentive. We got our menus and had time to decide first for the appetizers, so that our main dishes wont come at the same time as our appetizers. That was the recommendation for this week. I wish I took photos of everything, since all the appetizers we ordered were great. very fresh, tasty and came out rather quickly. We got the Dim Sum, the fried String beans, the hangar appetizer and likely others. We then placed our order and I ordered the full Hangar steak, as did my wife and one of my daughters. The others ordered other steaks and fried rice. When I received my Hangar steak I was dumbfounded. It appeared more like a shish kabob of beef, not a steak. Just a large one. The description did not state it was on a skewer... So we made our displeasure known and the manager was quick to come over and agreed that the description could be misleading about what you are getting and that they were adding descriptions to the newer menus to explain what you are getting. I mentioned that the menu didnt state how large the steak would be or I would have ordered a larger one. This one is only 8oz and I have been known to eat a 26oz. However... As a gesture, the manager offered to give me a second steak on the house!! WOW! The waitress then brought out the second steak. Honestly, it just reinforced their true commitment to serving their customers and ensuring their satisfaction. Great food and great service."
"I am only in the area, for like 4 days so I told my friend, " take me to a place that makes their own hummus"I guess I was feeling adventurous because I told him I also want a middle eastern place that serves wings so I can take some for my family before everything gets shut down for nye and new years. We sampled the falafel and the home made hummus and they gave us a party tray of wings to go which we ordered so everyone at home would not be jealous since we went out to dinner..they gave us the option of having it not seasoned just marinated in sauce ....I really liked it and will be back to sample more. The rest of my peeps loved the humongous tray of wings we brought back with us."
"Amazing restaurant, beautiful and the food exquisite! Looking forward to going again and again! We met Chef Olivia Ostrow...so nice and an incredible Chef. Loved it!"
"Had an amazing experience at this location!! The food was incredible and the service was great as well Every single item was fresh and delicious, the service was great. And of course bonus points for being kid friendly and making us feel at home with Blake! Here's what we tried from their menu. Honestly there isn't one thing we wouldn't get again Drinks: Mimosas Limo-Nana ( super refreshing for the Miami heat!) Appetizers:Avocado rolls Salmon rolls Crispy fried cheese Entrees Batata extravaganza ** THIS WAS AMAZING** Grilled Salmon bowl Dessert:Crème brûlée"
"1/5/22I've been here a number of times but had not come for a while. I brought a family member here tonight. We came at a good time and had our choice of tables. We sat outside. Ordered Iced coffees which were great. My brother ordered hummus with pita. It was just mediocre. The pita was soft but tasted packaged. The hummus was not great either. He asked for well toasted pita and was charged for another side of bread. He also ordered the mushroom salad which he enjoyed. I ordered the fettuccine with creamy pesto. It was cold, and the sauce appeared to have just been poured on top without being mixed well. They offered to reheat it but I did not come for reheated food. Fortunately I was able to order something else instead. I ordered the tuna salad plate which was fresh and tasty. For dessert we ordered the breakfast waffle to share. They accidentally brought us the nutella brownie instead. We ended up having both. They were both excellent. The food here was not as good as I remember it from the past. The service was great. I highly recommend the desserts."
"Recently visited the NEW Motek on Miami Beach. Im definitely a Motek lover and always enjoy visiting, happy to see all these new locations popping-up in South Florida! The Miami beach location is no exception, beautiful decor, nice service & great food. I was wowed by the artichoke & goat cheese flatbread, and the crispy eggplant. They currently don't have a liquor license, so you can bring your own! Look forward to visiting again soon!"
"We met friends from Minnesota who were visiting Florida here for dinner. He is a vegetarian and she's a pescatarian and they are both kosher. This was their choice of restaurants. The restaurant is kosher. My husband and I shared a felafel platter. First off they bring a dish of pickled veggies to the table and a basket of fluffy pita -- even before you order. I really like the beet marinated turnips. Some of the "pickles" were a bit spicy for me but my husband liked them all. The felafel were wonderful. Perfectly cooked and still moist inside. You got to choose six salads from the "bar". We selected hummus, Israeli salad, babaganoush, beets, and a chunky eggplant. My favorites were the hummus and the eggplant. We were given extra pita as well. In addition, we got a side of beans and rice. The white beans were soft and flavorful as was the rice. My husband brought half home and had with his eggs the next day for breakfast (!). Our friends had a veggie platter and a salmon pita wrap. The veggie platter was their choices from the salad bar. The salmon was hot and freshly cooked and served as a sandwich with condiments added. They didn't have the knafeh (listed on the online menu) that my husband likes, but they did have bobka (cake) that looked great -- although we were too full to try it. Kosher food -- especially the meat dishes -- are exceedingly expensive now. Not being kosher, I had no clue, so some of the menu prices are a bit of a shock. However, if you stick to the appetizers and smaller dishes, and share, (portions are large) you will be okay price wise.I have a friend who lives near by and likes middle eastern food. I told her about this place and we are already planning to come here."
"Good ribeye! A bit salty, but otherwise cooked to the temperature of my liking. Everyone else at our table reported they were happy with their steaks and food. The tacos are just two small soft tacos so I would stay away from those unless you're not hungry and want a small portion. You must come here for your birthday! When you dine here, you'll see that once every few minutes, all the lights go down, strobe lights come on, clubbing music plays and the servers all gather around a birthday person with sparklers. Very fun!Good service. Great for large gatherings as they have plenty of space and plenty of large tables. Free and easy parking as they're in a strip mall."
"Located in Aventura Mall in North Miami, this Mediterranean counter service restaurant is part of the food court. I had the Salmon Shawarma bowl with veggie quinoa with the sauces $19. It was fresh, flavorful and delicious."
"I was in the area doing some errands and thought this place is a just quick grab and go sandwich type of place. No, it was much more than that. It gives a very casual, fast food joint kind of appearance but the food is super authentic and give a run for major restaurants. It appeals to the core foodies and picky eaters alike. I ordered their Sabich sandwich. I never tried Sabich before and I know it is an authentic dish. I was also in the mood for vegetarian food that day. Omg, it turned out to be DELICIOUS. It has so many ingredients but the star of them was the thin wafery slices of eggplant. I know many people hate eggplant due to its mushiness. If you are one of those, this place wouldnt disappoint you. Because the slices were thin and soft but neither crispy nor mushy. You have the option of adding their hot sauce (which I did) and it was really good. They also have a salad bar that is complimentary. I loved the spicy chickpeas, pickled beets and the thin fried bread sticks (a must try). The portions were decent, price was reasonable and a big parking lot right in front. Checks on all fronts!!"
"Came by and had the plate with a bunch of different meats- sausage lamb steak chicken baby chicken- everything was delicious and will be back. Made for 4 people, but we ate as two whoops!"
