This is a place that is/was on my bucket list and I'm so happy I was able to visit the original location in Wynwood. The select of desserts is great, there is something for everyone. I purchased a chocolate chip cookie, a piece of the peanut butter and chocolate pie and a piece of the key lime pie. The cookie was excellent. My mother loved the peanut butter pie and the key lime will be sampled today. The staff was very friendly and place is very clean and has a good amount of seating. There is a parking lot however there is plenty of street parking depending on the time of day.

Fireman Derek's was okay -- we tried the key lime pie (of course) and the grasshopper for a little mint to cool things down.In both cases, the flavors were muted, and the base for each slice had a thin texture. To be fair, we had decadent key lime pie all along the actual Keys the previous few days, so maybe we're being a bit harsh. The key lime slice didn't taste especially sour or sweet. Most other slices commit to a flavor profile, while this one seemed content to split the difference and hide in the background. Likewise, the grasshopper didn't taste minty, but instead like someone waved a few mint leaves above the base, while someone else dropped in green food coloring.I can't help but compare this to a chain, with a formulaic approach to pies that makes them taste a little less authentic and a little less robust than the more unique restaurants. Not a bad choice, but certainly not one I'd be rushing to when in Miami.

Disappointing really. I've heard good things about Fireman Derek's. Particularly their pies. So when my girlfriend and I decided to grab some slices at the Wynwood location, I was expecting to be blown away. However, I'm left with a deep post-dessert clarity. First off, the employee who served us was incredibly rude and dismissive. Almost as if we were inconveniencing her at 6:40pm. She all but threw our pies on the counter. Our pies, for lack of a better word, were mid. I've never bitten into a pie that was this hard. Especially a "no bake pie". My girlfriend couldn't even finish hers and I barely could muster the enthusiasm to power through mine. The inside is barren and devoid is any personality save for a neon sign that almost mockingly says "Sweet". 2000s hiphop and R&b plays on the speakers. The tables are greatly separated and it just feels empty. For me? This was a 3.5 out of 5. However, the rudeness of the employee made this a 2. I hope that the Coconut Grove location offers a warmer experience than Wynwood. Well, until next time folks! Enjoy the meal!

Really good tasty desserts. Tried the salted caramel slice, the chocolate brownie and the pecan pie.The good: the pecan pie and brownie were delicious. The bad: the salted caramel pie was way too sweet for my taste, the caramel just overpowers everything.Overall great, high quality sweets.

A while back I tried their key lime pie. Now key lime pie is ok by me. I can take it or leave it although I can think of one restaurant where I absolutely love it. Anyway, when I had a slice of key lime pie from Fireman Derek a while back, I was not too impressed. It was ok.About a week ago, I had a slice of their coconut custard pie. This is one of my favorite pies and well, I again was not impressed. So I felt comfortable giving a review now that I tried two treats from here. It is ok. I know some people who love it. Like everything, we all have our opinions.

Fireman Derek's Bakeshop is known for their pies and lesser known for their cakes. To certify that both the pie and cake are delicious, it was my imperative to give both a shot. When I arrived in the morning, it was empty with the exception of a family who left almost the same time as I got in. The shop is spacious and the walls are adorably painted with sprinkles and cakes making it a quirky pastry shop vibe. The woman behind the counter was friendly and recommended me some of her favorite desserts from behind the display case. I got the guava coconut rum cake and the key lime pie slice. The key lime pie had a rich and creamy consistency with a pleasant sourness and sweetness. While it's my first time having key lime pie, it is what I would expect it to taste like. The guava coconut rum cake was even better with the moist cake and decadent coconut cream and guava jelly. My personal preference has me reaching for the guava coconut rum cake.As delicious as these treats are, they are quite dense and really expensive for ~$8 a pie slice and ~$12 a cake slice. The pie and cake slices are pretty big and since they are dense, you can share each slice with multiple people. So as expensive as they are, they are expensive for good reason and the quality speaks for itself.

Delicious!!! I'm so glad I got a chance to stop by try this place. There are quite a few options but I wanted to try the red velvet cake slice and the cookies n cream cookie. The cookie has crushed Oreo with white chocolate and it's the best of both worlds as far as flavor. Now the red velvet was absolutely amazing and I would definitely get another slice the next time I go there. It was so moist and sweet with that red velvet taste and icing was perfect. Definitely recommend and I would try out the other cakes or cookies next time.
