Mexican Mom

Yum, yum come and get you some! This was my first time at Mexican Mom and it was a great experience. The service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. A quaint and comfortable dining area makes it even more delightful. And the 80's music was icing on the cake for this Gen X'er. I'm not a huge fan of enchiladas (which is why I tried them here) but the Enchiladas Verdes were muy bueno. I'd bring my wife next time but that means she'd have to actually leave the house. If you can get your significant other to join you, they won't regret it. Give Mexican Mom a try!Pro Tip: Come on a Tuesday for lunch. You'll get a great meal with great service and it won't be very busy.

Came here on a cold Saturday and it was busy. All the tables were filled up. I just wish they had smaller tables for smaller parties. Most of the tables fit up to 6 people comfortably and for a party of 2, it's a shamed some customers left because there were no open tables unless they were comfortable sharing a community table. They did have nice couches as a seated area along some tables. The service was okay due to the difficulties of getting someone's attention. I needed more sauce and later needed the check. When I ended up going to the counter to pay and get myself the sauce, someone said they'll come to me. They ended up forgetting. By that time, the lunch rush had died out, so it wasn't as busy as earlier. Regardless, the food was really good. I definitely recommend the beef empanadas! They were a good hand size. But again, I wish they served it with more sauce instead of tiny little containers for two bites. I'm a sauce girl... I also ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes. They were really nice enough to split a plate for me and my husband and we both had a big plate full. I'll definitely come back and hopefully get to try other things I haven't tried yet. I've raved about the beef empanadas to my husband before arriving, and he agreed they were so yummy! Can't wait to come back!

It is simply special. Small, intimate and unassuming yet it is crazy good food coupled with service that many will strain to recall an equal.Mexican Mom is just that. A Mexican Mom cooking her quality dishes that she serves her family. Sophisticated, healthy and delicious. This is not Tex Mex hidden behind chips and dips. This is authentic meals. A must try.

This place is poppin. The energy is awesome. Here for Yelp community event. We had a great time. The hospitality was over the top.

Excellent food and service. It's a tiny restaurant, but super cute. I especially love the kids corner of activities - great touch for entertaining small kids.

Had time to kill between MDs appt and Mexican Mom came to mine. It is was so good to talk with Jaime and Gina, but the Poblano Corn Empanada, beans and rice are absolutely delicious. Not TEX MEX, but authentic cuisine from Mexico City. Nothing like Tex Mex. The Chimichurri Sauce is my favorite, but I mix the orange colored sauce with it. The crust is so crispy and freshy fried. They serve Beef Olive and Chicken Cheese Empananda, equally delicious. The owners of the place are what make the ambience of this restaurant. They genuinely love their customers. Their menu changes daily, but there are other dishes to try. The menu is huge. The Mexican Mom Casserole is the best entree I have ever tasted. They will soon be opening the 2nd second location in downtown Houston. Love this place, food and Gina and Jaime!

Most authentic mexican food I have tried in the area. Will definitely be returning. The empanadas were flavorful and hand made. Ate them too quick and forgot to get a picture. Great jamaica agua fresca. Refried beans were tasty and fresh totopos. Very clean restaurant. Owner was very nice and amazing cook. Will be returning.

Food was really authentic, we all ordered chilaquiles. My kids loved the green chilaquiles. Red ones are a bit more spicy, they were very tasty for all of usThe frijolitos refritos, delicious! We also had churros for dessert and they were crispy and delicious as well. Above all, the attention we received was spectacular, they were so attentive, really wanting all of us to enjoy our meal. And we did, we also felt like we had come to my Aunt's house to have a meal in Mexico. Thank you Mexican Mom for making us feel at home

Tengo casi 9 años viviendo en Usa y puedo decirles y asegurarles que en Mexican Mom encontrarán el auténtico sabor mexicano que les hará sentir como en casa de mamá . Gracias mil a la chef y su esposo ( dueños ) por hacerme sentir en casa y por hacerme sentir especial ya que era mi cumpleaños , así somos los mexicanos de calidad , siempre con una sonrisa y trato amable . Cien por ciento recomendable

There are few places that take such pride in their food. So to fine the amazing Mexican restaurant was a diamond in the rough. It's strip mall location in front of a Walmart is so unassuming but when you walk in and smell the lovely scent of Mexican food, it immediately transports you to Mexico with what awaits you is the most delicious food I've had in the Woodlands area. That is something to be said as The Woodlands is acquiring more and more tasty eateries. My husband and I got the empanadas, Queso Fundido, and chicken enchiladas. Jamie is the topping on the cake for this place as he is full of amazing recommendations and explanations of the dishes. Plus he makes a mean spicy margarita. The dishes are large enough to share so very affordable. If you haven't tried Mexican Mom, be sure to check them out.
